    Alpha Dog Center

WOOF, MY DOG WAS NOT THE PICK OF THEIR LITTER!   BE CAREFUL BEFORE SPENDING YOUR TIME & MONEY They must be doing amazing business and making $$ hand over fist.  They reject dogs that cannot pass their 5 minute temperament test (that costs $10).  My dog is timid and has a long "warm up time".  I am told by groomers and other dog handlers that she is nervous and shakes, then calms down and is fun and playful.   I tried this test about 1.5 years ago and paid $50 for a fecal test at my vet (required by alpha) and than $10 for a temperament test (that took no more than 5 mins - not bad 2 bucks a minute~!!) for the  woman to tell me my dog was too nervous and it is not a good environment.   I basically begged them at that point to take my dog even if it was for 30 mins to an hour a day to acclimate her (I wasn't working much at the time and was able to handle the drop offs and pick ups & I offered to pay for 1/2 day) - REJECTED.  Now, in need of doggy daycare again (having contractors working on house) I called ahead of time and spoke to the receptionist. I called because understandably I don't want to spends 3-4 hours of my time and another $60+ to get rejected again (my dog has not had a personality change!) She reiterated their policy and I asked to have the manager call me They apparently care so much about dogs that they think mine  is better off being crated at my house with 5 contactors  banging away than taking a while to warm up to the other dogs at Alpha Dog.  So Alpha Dog must have so many little doggies that perform well during their temp test the manager/owner didn't have time to call me back!   The person I spoke with called me back and said the manager was too busy to call back, which means that she is making enough $$ w/out my business.  The receptionist also said "we are so busy, we are really busy" at least 5 times during our conversation- that's a good thing right?  I got the point she wanted to get off the phone (been in those customer service shoes before - but you don't keep telling a potential customer "I'm so busy???")...  Glad to see these negative reviews... as I verbally hear positive ones throughout town (from people that must have outgoing doggies).  Good for the owner, they are riding out a good economy, making lots of $$, It will be interesting to see how they do if the economy tanks and they actually are looking for doggies to take.  A hallmark of good customer service is how a company handles customers during a good economy.  Hands down the worst customer service and attitude I've ever seen in any business.  I'll be sure to share my opinion around town!  If you are local, love dogs and want to start a business I would seriously consider it - they need competition.  WOOF, off elsewhere to play with other nervous, rejected doggies

    GROOMING TAILS PET SALON
Horrible see above. That I hate the cut does not even begin to describe how I feel.I rarely write reviews and typically don't make waves but this was too off the charts not to warn other pet owners. If you have any particular preferences for how you want your dog's coat cut,do not bring your pet here. As I stood in shock when I first saw my 'butchered' pet's coat, the groomer nonchalantly said, 'Oh well, it will grow back in.' And this women has been grooming my dog monthly for a year!
I do not know what was wrong today at Grooming Tails, but for warned. I know I will never return.

    ZPUP DOG SPA & BOUTIQUE
alI used to be a big fan of ZPUP, but of late I am definitely not.  When ZPUP first opened, I was happy with all aspects of their service. My pug would fight when it came to have his nails cut, so when I nervously brought him there the first time, the owner assured me that he could cut ANY dog?s nails. He did a great job; my dog didn?t go crazy and I swore I would never go anywhere else.  I was a loyal customer for a long time, and I referred many of my friends who also became loyal customers. Well, no more.
Bad enough now, you can cut the atmosphere with a knife when you walk in. If you can endure the disrespect, haughtiness and bad attitudes from the owner and his staff, you have put up with ZPUP?s lackadaisical approach to business hours.   On any
given day you dare to walk in for a simple nail trim at 2:00 pm, you find that the groomers have already gone home, and there is nobody around to do it.  Hmmm, that may also explain why it takes my friend weeks and weeks to schedule a grooming appointment for her Lab.  The groomers go home when they feel like it.  In addition, I found out the hard way that self-wash closes at 4:00 pm. When I asked why, the staff member replied, ?We have to clean and close up the sinks.?  I made a special trip to their new location just for this purpose, and when I expressed my dismay that the hours on the door says closing time is at 5:00 pm, the staff member replied, ?Well, our website says self-wash closes at 4:00!?  Wow, really? The place was completely empty and the 2 staff members were just sitting there, doing nothing.
The last time I had my dog?s nails clipped, the groomer cut the quick and he was bleeding.  Not a word about it to us; we only knew because we saw the blood.  I know this sometimes happens, but not to mention it was cold and unprofessional.
The stress of having to deal with their staff is not worth the job that they do. At the prices they charge, I should expect quality grooming AND service.?

    Nicki's Pampered Pooch
I really love Nikki. She is phenomenal with all of my dogs. I brought my dog to them. He was a rescue and I have no idea what the trauma he went through but I brought him there first time. He was shaking so hard, I could barely hold him. They accommodated him so well like they did him first and got him out as quickly as possible and overtime, he loves them now. They took him to that process plus the grooming. They were great bringing him through the process of that fear.

    Alpha Dog Center
Paid $10 for a temperment test (see if she played well with other dogs) - took 5 minutes. Would like them to apply this fee to boarding.
Drop off on Sunday morning was very nice. We didn't get a tour of the facility, would have been nice.
Pick up on Wednesday morning was good.
She was happy, looked good and well cared for. Very clean and well maintained facility. Will use again.

They are great, the staff is all first rate, the groomer does a great job, our dog loves to go to day care there and has had great experiences during the two times he has boarded. Strongly recommend them for every dog service you may need... We will take our dog nowhere else!

    ZPUP DOG SPA & BOUTIQUE
We are the proud owners of a 90 pound labradoodle that thinks he's a lap dog and afraid of his own shadow. His last grooming experience was traumatic. He was not himself for over a week after the experience. We were hesitant to have him groomed again. I called ZPup and couldn't have been met with a more understanding, sympathetic and knowledgeable person. I was assured that they would make his experience more pleasant. My husband entered ZPup with a trembling dog and was greeted warmly. They began clipping Rex after assessing what needed to be done (he hadn't been groomed for some time). One person clipped while another petted Rex to calm him down. Three hours later we were called to pick up a very handsome (and cleaner) dog! Rex was completely himself and quite proud of his new appearance. Needless to say, we are thankful and will be long customers of ZPup!
