AJAC LandscapeJose was on time and finished 3000' of sod with mulch in one day. This included removing previous weed/grass and putting down top soil before the sod installation. The sod he put down was top rate, looks great and never had any brown patches. When all the leaves had fallen this year, Jose came back in removed all of my leave piles for free. I hired them to do some fall lawn maintenance including dethatching, aerating, adding top soil to bare spots, seeding/overseeding, and fertilizing. I had reached out to several other companies and Nature Redesigned's prices were better, they were more responsive, and could come sooner. The transformation is remarkable, despite the fact that I decided not to re-landscape at this time. They completely leveled and re-seeded the backyard, which was a real eyesore before, with overgrown bushes and rabbit holes. My objective was to make my property presentable without tearing everything out and starting all over again, and Brandon did exactly that. It was a large job in terms of the scope of work and we could not be happier with the results. It is a significant investment for a homeowner and Joe was very patient as we worked through the process and decisions. ANature-Redesigned LandscapingWe had to have our front yard entirely landscaped after taking down several large tree. Because we wanted to eliminate a lawn, we asked Joe to create a landscape design that would be a natural alternative in order to conserve water, reduce the need for chemical fertilizers and pest control, and minimize maintenance. Since all houses around include lawns, we also asked Joe to design something that would not stand-out as a neighborhood oddity. Previous landscapers proposed cookie-cutter ideas that frankly were uninspired and likely to look out of place in our neighborhood. Then we met Joe. He talked about the practicalities of the project, but he also talked about elements of color, shape, space and texture. He directed us to an excellent nursery so that we could explore possibilities, and he personally assessed and modified our numerous choices to reflect what he felt we were looking to achieve within our budget. Joe also responded quickly and competently to questions and requests for changes as the job unfolded. I also want to add that Joe’s team was outstanding: they were on time and worked in all kinds of weather; they were polite and friendly and clearly had an established comraderie that allowed for hard work to be done efficiently, and I have to say, cheerfully. These guys respect their own work, and they are invested in a successful outcome. At a time when promises are fluid and competence is often overstated, Joe Shaw is the real deal! FTerrible experience with John at Greenskeeper. I called on a Monday to schedule an estimate to have quite a bit of work done, he said he was available that Wednesday "around Noon" to meet and would call me that morning to confirm. Noon on Wednesday comes around and I have not heard from him, I get a call saying something came up and he cannot make it. Not a huge deal, things happen. So we reschedule for that coming Saturday "around Noon". Noon on Saturday comes and goes and I have not heard from him. At 1PM he texts me saying he "had a couple breakdowns" and "today is not going to work". He asks me if I am available during the week any time, I state I can meet on Monday or Tuesday morning. I do not hear back from him at all. At 5PM on Monday I text him asking if he has a day/time to meet, he responds "probably Thursday or Friday!". On Wednesday he texts me saying he has to head to my town and if I am available to meet in an hour. I agree to meet and LEAVE WORK to meet him at my house; one hour passes and I am waiting for him and he texts me saying "my day changed up" and he cannot meet. Needless to say I have no interest in working with this guy, he is completely unprofessional and clearly has no idea what he is doing. If he is this incompetent just scheduling an estimate I can only imagine how incompetent he is actually doing the work. I wouldn't trust this guy cutting my lawn.

AWe received an initial quote from Harris & Co. based on a recommendation from a coworker to replace a backyard deck with a stone patio. I received three quotes from various contractors. Harris's quote was the most expensive but I went with Joshua Harris's company anyway for the following reasons: * Joshua had a complete treatment that included landscaping (which ultimately I did not do), pavers, lowering of the ground, demolition, fire pit, and seating wall. * They were responsive, using text and email and replying promptly. * Joshua Harris had a better vision for the project than I did! He envisioned a wall, lighting, making the patio extremely large (due to the limited space in the backyard, he thought that leaving a bit of grass would be pretty pointless). Ultimately, it was the completeness of the vision that drew me to use his service. Since he does landscaping, lighting, and tons of stuff, Joshua will give you a pretty complete treatment. This costs you. I think that you get what you pay for, but it's something to keep in mind. If you have a budget, keep your discipline and see what aspects that you can go without! That all said, we went all out for this project and added a long wall, accent pavers, a large fire pit, and lighting. This was an extremely expensive project for us, but it's been worth it as the end result is rather beautiful and makes the space much more usable. Before, we wouldn't even leave out the back door because the deck was so small and the yard was so dreary, but the large 28' stone patio makes the space inviting and easy to walk across, even when we're not entertaining. As for the work, I was impressed by the amount of communication that was provided. They contacted me almost every day to let me know if they were going to arrive to work and informed me if circumstances (usually rain, sometimes illness) affected the schedule. Joshua was overall very professional. There were occasionally circumstances though that affected what could be done at any point - for example a certain model of lamp I requested wasn't available, so I had to get a different one; in another case one of the bulbs burned out and I had to reach out to get it replaced. The final thing is that Joshua follows through. The mulch for the back was delayed due to an inventory issue and I hadn't heard from him after the work for a number of weeks, but then he called me when the items came back in and scheduled the follow-up. The point is: if you need something from him, don't be afraid to reach out. The work was quite costly but I think that you get what you pay for and when you go with Harris & Co., you get a lot.
