    Bedford Builders Remodeling
Bedford builders work is spectacular!! If you want honesty about the issues so they are actually corrected then this is the company. They are professional and clean. They were able to finally correct 2 years of leaks from one issue or another regarding my kitchen sink. Finally! We were able to match cabinets and counters to the originals to add in my kitchen which makes the work look seamless and as if it was all done at once. Also added some additional electric to the island area which is a great improvement while creating a custom made pedestal base to support a granite overhang. Its goegeous! While at the house during the estimate he noticed that the exhaust vent for our furnace was quit low to the ground and with New England winters we were concerned about it getting buried in storms which can cause that exhaust to be trapped. They heightened the pipe and now we can sleep at night not worried about snow covering it and endangering my family. They also addressed a poorly installed window and have corrected shoddy work by the original builders. We will absolutely use them for work needed going forward. We needed not just quick fixs that many repair people / contractors will charge for and not really fix. We are so pleased and finally feel confident in a company who seriously has the expertise, honesty, and know how to get to the root of a problem and then provide you with beautiful finish work. Amazing! Its so hard to find what you need in a contractor.. we have learned that you get what you pay for and finding the right professional contractor for our needs has been WELL WORTH IT! Thank you Bedford builders!

    RWL General Contractors
Extremely satisfied with every aspect of our remodel project. Contractor team is very professional, respectful and responsive. Quality of work is tops. Especially helpful is their willingness to make suggestions and offer opinions; applying their expertise & experience added so much to our final results. They stuck to their original cost estimate and provided updated cost for approval as the scope of our project expanded...we added garage door replacement, chimney repair repair and gutter work halfway through our project. All members of the crew are courteous & respectful allowing us to very quickly feel comfortable having them in our home. Not only would I recommend them to others, we are already considering having them tackle another project next year elsewhere in the house.

    PLM Home Improvement
We have hired Pete on two occasions over the course of this and last summer to look at repairs for our very neglected decks. Pete was very responsive and came quickly to look at the decks and gave an estimate within 48hours. The pricing was very reasonable, and Pete was very honest and answered all of my questions, and explained how he arrived at his pricing and his assessment of the work that needed to be done. He noticed our crumbling retaining wall and put together a plan to salvage existing wood from the wall and use as minimal new materials as possible to save cost but also have a quality end result. All work was completed quickly as weather allowed (even sometime working in the rain) and Pete and his crew were always professional and worked quickly and cleaned everything better than when he started the projects. Pete also noticed that once he applied the stain to our mahogany deck, it didn't lay the way that he wanted, and HE brought this up to us. He also talked to the manufacturer of the stain and was able to get the product and redo the deck with no cost to us. He redid the deck and it looks beautiful, as well as fixed some boards that were loosening in both decks, at no additional change. Hire Pete, his work is beautiful, his prices reasonable, and he is a person of integrity! We will definitely work with him in the future.

A++ couldn't be better. Bought the special on a Friday, Pete from PLM called within 24 hours, set up an appointment for what turned out to be Tuesday morning. He came out, specced the job, gave us a very fair price for everything (labor and materials). He came back following Tuesday morning with all the lumber, etc and a second carpenter. They finished the job the same day (!!). With the work he did, and the materials he bought, I expected "well, it's a little more than I thought." Nope. Agreed upon price. The new steps look great, they are safe and to code. In fact, much better than we initially expected, especially for the price. Just a terrific job At the end of the day, they took the trash (old wood, etc) with them; when it wouldn't fit, he came back the next day for the rest. He also called a couple of days later to make sure everything was OK. Greay work for a more than fair price. Could not be happier. We will hire him again in a nanosecond. If I could give extra credit above "A" I would. [Note PLM is fully licensed and registered, even though he doesn't have his license number on his business card.]

    RWL General Contractors
Very disappointing experience, although initially it seemed like RWL General Contractors would be a good fit for the work I needed. In late April I called the owner, Kevin Leblanc, for an estimate for replacement windows and for repairs needed to prepare my house for painting. I chose him because I had heard him talk on WPRO radio, and he had good reviews on Angies List. He came to my house May 1st to view the work needed. A few days later a representative of his roofing subcontractor came by to measure for rubber roofing. I waited a few weeks but never received an estimate from Mr. Leblanc. On May 25th I emailed him via his website to ask when I might expect to receive his estimate. All I got in reply was what appeared to be a computer-generated confirmation of message received, saying they would reply to me as soon as possible. Perhaps I should have followed up with a phone call instead of an email. Perhaps I should have started calling other companies sooner. At this point I dont believe he is interested in the job, so Ive been calling other contractors. I waited too long, and by now the other contractors are already scheduling into August and September. If the repairs are scheduled that far into the year, it may not leave enough time for having the house painted.

    THE NEW ENGLAND HOUSE DOCTOR
Roland was great to work with.  He's a very friendly, professional man, who showed up on time ready to work.  Roland replaced two exterior storm doors and had to replace some rotting wood around one of the doors - he pained the wood, too.   He also replaced our front entry door, which looks great now.  Everything was done in the timeframe he gave us and for the cost he quoted, too.  Roland also gave us suggestions on what kind of doors would work well for our home, and didn't try to talk us into anything we didn't need or out of our budget.
We will be hiring him again for some deck repair work, and I can't wait to see how that project turns out!

    JDH Home Improvement
I hired Jeremy after evaluating a number of potential
contractors.  Most of the contractors I
liked were either unreasonably expensive or unavailable.    I found Jeremy on craigslist, and he was
available to begin right away.  His
credentials were not as extensive as other contractors, but he provided a
couple solid references, and I liked the fact that for the most part the work
would be done by one person.  Since I was
interested in being very involved in most of the aspects of the project, this
would allow me to ask questions, provide feedback, or ask him to make adjustments,
etc before too much progress was made.
Since he didn?t have much experience as a general contractor finishing
basements, I proposed that we contract the project in phases, allowing me to
inspect the work in one phase before committing to Jeremy to complete the
entire project.  We started with framing,
and Jeremy eventually took on the work of electric, plumbing, insulation,
drywall, flooring (tile and laminate), and finish carpentry.  I hired my own painter, completed A/V wiring
myself, and hired my own countertop company.
Jeremy was very easy to work with in general.  He brought a great deal of enthusiasm to the
project, injected good ideas where they were needed, provided great feedback
about the design, and took direction well.
He helped me figure out how best to hide (yet leave accessible) the
electric panel, recommended an approach for finishing the stairs leading to the
basement, worked with the building inspectors (and influenced them when needed)
to get the project approved, collaborated on a terrific final layout for the
bar, and coordinated the efforts of a few other tradesmen.  In particular, I thought the electrician (Tim)
and finished carpenter (Ross) supporting Jeremy were outstanding.  Both of them were very collaborative, taking
the time to listen to what I wanted to accomplish, making very sound
recommendations about what I should do, and delivered a terrific product.  Throughout the process, Jeremy was open and
accommodating of changes without asking for unreasonable change fees or additional
    expense.
The project was not without its issues, however; I believe
these exposed some of Jeremy?s opportunities to improve his skills as a general
contractor and project manager.  The walls
were one such example.  The quality of
the sheetrocking was mediocre, and the contractors Jeremy hired to apply the
    compound was substandard.  Jeremy worked
hard attempting to correct the issue, but ultimately I had to pay the painters
to skim coat the walls.  It was
unfortunate since I had been considering hiring a reputable plaster guy
instead.  I went with Jeremy in part
because of the $1200 price savings, some of which evaporated when Jeremy
informed me that he misquoted the price after starting the job.
Correcting other issues at the end of the job was a bit of a
chore as well.  I had to complain several
times about the grout in the bar area that was sloppily done.  After painting, the bathroom door would not
close without putting all my weight behind it.
Jeremy claimed that this was simply the result of humidity and paint and
did not appear to want to rectify the situation.  For these and a few other closeout items, I
held out payment of ~$2000 of the $35,000 project, which became a topic of
debate with him instead of Jeremy promptly coming to fix these issues.
After completing the project, I had some serious issues with
the laminate floor buckling, due to a couple areas where the floating floor did
not have enough room to expand.  Jeremy
eventually came back to correct the most severe issue, but has not demonstrated
any urgency to return and fix the other trouble spots; rather, he?s given me
excuses about the size of the floor and complaints about laminate flooring in
    general.
In general, I got a terrific basement at a very reasonable
    price.  I really appreciate Jeremy?s
partnership, and am glad I was able to be as involved in the process and the
    decision-making as I was.  During
construction, Jeremy was very reliable, his communication was prompt, and I did
not feel like other jobs were competing with mine.  I would definitely hire Jeremy back for
specific contract work, but I would be hesitant to hire him for larger jobs
that would put him in a general contractor role.

    THE NEW ENGLAND HOUSE DOCTOR
We are very pleased with the quality of work performed. Roland is punctual, professional and very clear about what he is able to do and giving an accurate time frame when the work will be done.  He is very respectful. We had issues with the toilet we were replacing (hairline crack in new toilet), Roland stayed late to complete the job once we got the replacement toilet.  He works hard and fast. He is also clean!  He made sure that he cleaned up after completing all work and even took some trash with him that we could have disposed of.  Roland's prices are reasonable and fair. We highly recommend Roland!
