    RI Design Build Inc
We had an excellent experience with Rob and his team. He arrived when he said he was going to arrive and finished the job better than expected. This home was partially renovated prior to his arrival. He was hired to do the kitchen which came out terrific. His design gave the impression of a larger kitchen and the quality of the cabinets and granite was very nice. Prior to him arriving, paneling was replaced with drywall. This left assymmetic/wavy border lines where window and door trim had to be built. His team did a PERFECT job custom cutting all of the trim in order to make the project look finished. This took a lot of time, effort, and I imagine was VERY frustrating for his team. Despite this, they did a great job and had a great attitude. You would never notice going into the property now that there was ever an issue. I would recommend Rob and I would use him in the future.

    Artistic Home Improvement LLC
Artistic home improvement LLC, did an outstanding job. They were on time, kind, courteous, listened to our inquiries on what we wanted done, cleaned up after installation of cabinets, delivered excellent service. I asked Oscar from artistic home improvement to make my kitchen beautiful and he did just that! I am very happy with my cabinet installation and the painting job.

    CC Woodcrafters of New England
Our home had some water damage that affected our kitchen cabinets so we decided to have them refaced.  We obtained 3 estimates and decided on CPWoodcrafters for many reasons.  First of all, we liked him (Charlie, owner) found him to be very knowledgeable, friendly and professional.  Secondly, he was the only one that came out to give us the estimate that wasn't  a salesman.  He is a cabinet maker so he knew exactly what was needed along with some suggestions to make the project beautiful.  He was upfront with the fact that we would have to wait 8 weeks for the service, but it was well worth it.
It took about 4 days to complete, and the men that were here started at 7 am and some days stayed until 5 or 6 pm.  They were neat and respectful of our home, courteous and professional (and I felt very comfortable leaving them in my home without me being there.)  By the 2nd day I could see the light at the end of the tunnel, and by the 4th day we were blown away by the transformation!  The kitchen went from an old dingy oak to a bright rich white- the cabinets were beautiful!  Charlie had made a few suggestions (no pressure) and we decided to go with them and so happy we did.  He built out the cabinet above the refrigerator so it looked built in, and also put an additional door on the other side of the island for easier access to storage.  He replaced our old drawers with the nice slide ones that close with a push.  The crown molding he made for the tops of the cabinets were elegant and made quite a difference.  Needless to say, we are thrilled with our new kitchen, and so happy we went with CPWoodcrafters!  HIghly recommended!!

    DePietro Roofing Inc

We contacted several roofing companies for bids.  The roofing companies ran the gamut.  Some were extremely professional, some were scary, some were large firms, some were 1-2man companies. Estimated prices had a wide difference of $2,000+.

In this case, John the owner arrived on-site to do the estimate.  Immediately, it was apparent that he was a very experienced professional.  What surprised us was that his price was very reasonable compared to those we received. (Not the overall cheapest, but the cheapest of the professional companies we encountered.)  They also offered to roof a small shed in the back yard to match the new shingles at no extra cost.

When it came time for the job to happen, the experience was just as professional.  The crew came early and was done the same day.  The crew was pleasant and polite.  Clean up was so good, that, even after searching for nails and debris, I could barely tell that we had just had the job done.

Additionally, even though we were warned it could happed, they found they did not have to replace a single sheet of plywood under the shingles.  (I mention this to give extra confidence that he did not take advantage by replacing 'rotten' plywood at an extra cost, even though he could of and we would not have known the difference.  I believe him to be very ethical.)

The materials used were solid and as a final note, I mention that this winter (2014/2015) was one of the worst in years and the house built up heavy ice dams along the gutters, but not a drop of water came in thanks to our new roof.

I am very comfortable recommending Depietro to anyone who needs a new roof.

The job went very smoothly.  Bob Koch was very responsive to what I was looking for and didn't hesitate to make changes that I asked for during the project.  I would use him again and would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

    Worldwide Home Improvement Inc

I would like to take this time to write a complaint about the services I received from Worldwide Home Improvement Inc., owned by Richard Hartman.

My husband had originally contacted Mr. Hartman as part of the ?Deal of the Day? promotion where we were able to get eight hours of work for the price of four.  In the contract that was received when we signed up for it and paid up front , it states that any additional hours would be charged at the rate of $45 per hour.  Mr. Hartman insisted his fees would be $75 per hour.  When I showed him a copy of the contact that said $45, he agreed to that charge but repeatedly said it was a mistake, as if he wanted me to say ?I?m sorry, I will accept the $75 charge?.  I felt like he was hounding me to agree the hourly charge was a mistake and to just accept it.  I refused.  It was there in black and white what the additional charge would be and I should not have to feel forced to accept the higher charge.  He also insisted on being paid before the job was complete.

As for the worked we wanted done: we had a bucket list of items we wanted complete.  Hang a bannister, install ceramic tile in the upstairs bathroom, put up a half wall,  install a hanging shelf for a dehumidifier unit, attempt to fix a dryer that had a loud knocking noise.

While in the house, Richard offered to re-hang the banister going down to the basement but when he attempted to do it, noticed the wall that it is hung on needed painting.

Mr. Hartman had his employee, Steve do most of the projects.  In the basement, Steve hung the dehumidifier but did not clean up afterwards and left metal pieces on the floor and some even got into our washing machine.

He was able to stop the knocking sound in the dryer but did not fix the problem with the cloths not drying.

Mr. Hartman painted the wall where the banister was to be rehung, but did not sand down the wall first or as my husband pointed out mud the wall another coat ,which any professional would have noticed.

Steve hung the banister but did not secure it properly with three screws. Rather than point out the material was missing , causing my husband almost to fall down the stairs.

In the kitchen, due to the renovations we are having down, we needed a support wall 27 inches long.   They only built the wall 26 inches.  This is a problem because we had cabinets in the process of being constructed based on the 27 inch wall.  Now the contactor working on the cabinets has to come up with a plan b, as it were, for that everything looks good.

They were also in so much of a hurry to get the new kitchen tile installed that they did not finish preparing the wall properly before working on the tile.  My husband had to finish things up with the wall.  They also left an electrical box open when it should have been hidden using a dry wall patch, as it is an outlet we will no longer be using.

The worst part of the work they did is in the upstairs bathroom.  We needed to have some tiles replaced on the floor and put in a new purchased threshold.  We were supplying the tile and threshold but only had a small amount of the tile left over.  Steve worked on the floor but made such a mess out of it.   Rather than telling me I needed to get more tile Steve put the threshold in by using grout as a filler between the end of the tile and the thresh hold leaving a very noticeable gap.

We ended calling another contractor to fix the issue as we have no faith in Worldwide Home to do the job correctly.

As you can see, we are very disappointed in the service we received and angered that we had to spend more money to get their mistakes fixed.  My husband who owns the angie's list account is closing his account with Angie?s List not only because of the contractor but other contractors on angie?s list ?reviews you can trust? is simply a marketing scheme.

We are only writing this review now because the membership is up and the property is now sold. The contractors work is only now a bad memory.

    2nd Generation Remodeling
Michael Manni is a highly professional, highly responsible, detail-oriented contractor. I had some basic sketches from an architect, who told me I could not get this job done for less than $100,000. I wanted to spend half that. Mike gave us an estimate and it was right where I wanted it. We ended up spending more but only because we changed materials. Although the sketches I had were very basic, Mike was able to work with them, and changed the plans as he worked and discovered the details of the grade of the land and the existing structure. He made one change in the roof line that ended up much better than the original plans. He clearly wanted us to be happy with the end product and stayed in communication with me throughout the project to make sure this happened. He is very creative and solved several problems along the way so that we were able to meet code standards without sacrificing the aesthetic that we wanted.
I gave a B grade for punctuality only because he got bogged down in another job and was unable to complete the job as quickly as I had hoped. However, we did have a firm deadline of a house party for which we wanted the deck ready, and he made sure that it was absolutely useable for the party, even though not completely finished.
All in all I would strongly recommend this company.

Dave was very professional about the bidding process. He was on time and returned all calls. He had a good attitude and was responsive to the feedback. His estimate was very clear and detailed. I had good architectural drawings of the job and a really clear scope.
Unfortunately, his price was over double the other contractor who was awarded the project and did a great job.
Too bad since I liked Dave's attitude but being off by so much really killed his chances.
I would consider calling him on future jobs.
