AMy cats Tim and Phoebe have been treated by Dr. Mowry. I find him to be personable as well as an excellent vet. His explanations and treatment options are concise and I feel that he truly cares about my animals. Thanks for excellent service and also peace of mind.

FPlease take a moment to read the reviews and you will notice some disappointing themes. An overall rating of 2 ½ stars is too generous. We brought our 7-month old rescue hound/boxer mix puppy in for his initial “temperament test”, which he passed without any difficulties. A couple of days later we dropped him off for his first day at doggie daycare. Within in a few hours we received a call stating we needed to pick him up since he wasn’t “being cooperative” with training. Of note, he did attend to puppy training classes at another facility and did wonderful. Upon our arrival he had a bloody nose, a hemorrhage in his eye, and he was wet. The manager, Kirby, stated they were attempting to walk him with a slip leash and he was resisting, therefore they were pulling increasing the tension on the slip leash. Kirby also noted his injuries were a “NORMAL STRESS RESPONSE”. We contacted our vet who informed us the bloody nose and eye hemorrhage are were most likely caused by a rapid increase in blood pressure related to the extensive tension created by pulling on the slip leash. He was actually choked, causing his blood pressure to rise, resulting in injuries. I called back and spoke with Kirby to try to understand why they utilized such mistreatment to our puppy during training. Kirby stated multiple times they need to teach dogs “RESPECT”. Really? I am not sure choking animals and causing injury teaches “RESPECT”. Unfortunately, I have no “RESPECT” for Alpha Dog. Animals should learn by positive reward, not abuse! I have requested a call from owner Kendra. Five days later and I have not received a call. Obviously, the owner has no concern or “RESPECT” for her customers, or the dogs in their care. Please think twice before leaving your dog at Alpha Dog. I wish we did. Our puppy not only has physical injuries but also the emotional traumatic injuries we now need to overcome. You may want to also read some of the past employee’s reviews on Indeed claiming mistreatment of animals.

AShe is fantastic. She can come to your home and also take you to her location depending on what the problem is. The wonderful thing she has is, if you are involved in one of her training programs, she offers lots of little fun classes that can help the dog. She lets you take part for free because you are already paying her for training. She teaches them to do tricks and other little things that are actually good for the dog. Her fees are fair. The prices that I looked at for a lot of places on Angie's List were well beyond anything we could afford. She is very good at keeping you informed about the progress of your dog.

FHorrendous experience. My dog was diagnosed with diabetes and for the next 4 months drs Marks and cordy would not collaborate with each other but rather seemed to compete with each other in terms of the correct treatment. One time I would see Cordy and he would jack up the insulin and next I would see Marks and she would say that was incorrect and would lower the insulin significantly. Sometimes Frank would have to go 2 times per week and HAH is extremely expensive.
Phone calls were not returned, Dr Marks did not know if insulin should be refrigerated ( she told me to ask the pharmacy ) and she also miss read the 12 hour glucose test which she ordered and ending up reading it upside down according to our new vet.
I could go on and on but enough said. I t was incompetant and unprofessional. Just stay away.
I finally went to another Vet who stabilized Frank in just 3 weeks. It is now 3/2015 and he is healthy and very happy and I am so relieved. HAH does not really understand the empathy issue, at least not for me or my family.

FPRO-GROOMINGCheaper is not always better!!! Learned this the hard way. We have two dogs, I’ve taken them to quite a few groomers both in RI and CA where we’re from and this is the first place that has taken 5+ hours to groom our dogs....and THEY DONT EVEN DO A GOOD JOB! They are terrible with haircuts regardless of the breed and when they cut their nails, actually, IF THEY CUT THEIR NAILS (sometimes they forget) they don’t file them and they are so sharp my pups cut my legs when they greet me at the salon. My dog was left with several bald spots, and they even cut his stomach in more than one spot. The worst part is their customer service!! The owner Helen has no problem screaming at customers even if there are other people around. We dropped our dogs off a little before noon and asked if they could be done by 3:30, after going back and forth with them (and Helen yelling in the background “THEYRE NOT EVEN REGULARS!!”) they agreed to have them ready at 3:30. That’s almost 4 hours for 2 dogs!!! Only one of which needed a haircut. I’d be fine with them keeping my dogs that long if I picked up my dogs and they looked amazing, but they don’t! It looks like they put a blindfold on before cutting my dog’s hair. We were once regulars because no one could beat Helen’s price ($70 for a deshed on one and haircut on the other) and to be honest the haircut never looked great but our dogs were always happy and comfortable so we knew they didn’t harm them. But when we took a month off due to our toddlers newly diagnosed health condition we called to make and appointment and she told us we had to wait SIX weeks. We took the slot anyway because they NEEDED to be groomed. That slot was today, when we picked up our dogs she changed the price from $70 to $95...without any warning!! And they looked worse than ever!! She said it was because it had been too long and they were really dirty (I know for a fact I’ve brought them in there way dirtier) and we reminded her that the reason we hadn’t been in was because they were booked...she started yelling at us saying “YOU ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT JUST PAY $80 AND DONT COME BACK”. Of all the terrible haircuts our dog has received from this place we only asked them to fix his cut ONCE! We never complained prior to that. Even when they kept our dogs from 8AM to 5PM!!! Don’t worry Helen, we won’t be back.- Coral V.

ALaurie CokerI have a big standard poodle. It takes a lot of work to do her. A lot of other groomers would charge me over $100 to groom. My dog is like 65 pounds and it takes a long time because she has poodle hair. Whenever my dogs have been sick she calls to find out how are they if I tell her. Or she will spot something on the dog she will alert me which is very good. She always follow up. If I tell her there is an issue veterinarian wise she always checks back in to make sure how things are going with the dog. In a bigger city like Sarasota I have paid $140. I felt totally abused by Sarasota groomers. With her, she spends many hours on my dog. For grooming a big dog like that I think her prices are very reasonable.- Michaeleen B.

APetcoThe woman there did a very nice job and we were happy with it. For a standard poodle we might get it at some places for $55, but it can also go up to $85 or so. I am not greatly familiar with all their products. Their quality is good. My wife had made appointments and had callbacks, confirming and stuff like that.- Kathryn C.

AClassic Clips Pet SalonThey are very good. They are very good to the animals. If you didn't come out in a few years, they still know your animal's name. They have a lot of vets there. They are real easy to deal with. I've haven't used anybody else but I think they are great. I was recommended by several people who go there to them. Their price is very good. Their quality of work is very good. They are very responsive. They try to get you in as soon as they can. They are great. I would absolutely use their services again in the future.- michael s.
