Dave Otto Construction LLC dba Otto Construction
I had contacted Mr. Otto (5/9/2012) about installing a fire door between the basement and garage of my soon to be home (in the buying process and the FHA required a fire rated door to be installed before we could get the final stamp of approval). I was on a very tight time line and needed to coordinate my schedule, the sellers (so they would let us into the home), and the contractors. First off Mr. Otto claimed he was open to do the installation on the date and time the seller and I had agreed on (5/18/2012 at 10am), we both had to take a half day in order to accomplish this. Secondly he told me that he would get back to me with an estimate shortly, I only heard back from him almost a full week later after I had left him several voicemails. When I finally did hear back from him he informed me that he was under the impression that he was only going to come out and get measurements of the door on 5/18/2012 and then give me an estimate. At this point I asked him point blank, would he be able to install the door on the date I had set or not? He said that he was able to install the door at the time I had set and that he would call me first thing in the morning on 5/18/2012 when he was on his way over. Mr. Otto never showed. I called twice and left one voicemail. By 11:30am, and with no return call from Mr. Otto, we gave up waiting and left. Mr. Otto finally did call back, at 12:39pm, saying he had left his phone in the truck while at another job and didn't see my calls. When asked why he didn't show up or call he claimed that he never agreed to do any such thing.  I understand that installing a door isn't as lucrative for him as the bathroom remodel/hand rail installation that he claimed to have been working on, but my time and money are important to me even though they aren't to Mr.Otto.

    A Schwesinger Construction

    EXTREME CAUTION WITH SCHWESINGER CONSTRUCTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Micheal Schwesinger is a 1 person company that works out of a condo in Cranberry township, PA. He doesn't have a real office. He is located just north of Pittsburgh.

He first showed up prepared to get to work and talked a great game. He was working with copper gutters, tile and my asphalt roof.I had him working on the roof for a month before he started not showing up. Eventually he said he completed the work. I paid him in full and he left.
Eventually, I started to get leaks in the house and was not prepared for what I was about to hear from another contractor. The entire roof was put up wrong, done incorrectly and some parts were not finished at all. I tried calling Schwesinger Construction over 10 times for him to not even answer the call or come fix the work that he did.
He made shortcuts throughout the job. For example: didn't even take off the plastic on the back of the ice and water shield before he laid it down. Another example: laid new valley's over existing valley's without removing them. Leaks in 3 different area's.

He lied and stole from me all the way through the job on my house. This guy is no good and can't trust him at all.  He actually used the stolen ladders from his previous company on my house. This company was Rick John's Roofing and he was eventually fired because he stole from them.

Well, I sued him and took him to court and won a judgement against him.

USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN USING THIS CONTRACTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Eddy Homes Inc
We worked with them for 12 months. We had $550,000 contract. We had a few glitches along the way, but they made everything right. They were very patient, answered my phone calls whenever I would call. If not, they would always return calls. They picked quality subcontractors. All of them were very gentlemanly, were managed well. No scheduling issues. Most importantly, they got the house one by the deadline, below budget, and stayed right to budget throughout the process. I?m very pleased.
