For the first time I was told that you can only make 2 appointments. I have three children that need eye exams, why can't they see all of them. I have insurance and I pay my bills, there has never been an issue. They call to confirm the day before, at that point I was told my appointment is no longer with Dr Clouser it is now with some other Dr I have never heard of and have no knowledge of. I had to wait three weeks for this appointment only to have to move it again to get an appointment with the Dr I originally requested. And again was told that they would make an exception and allow all three children have appointments. My husband and I both wear glasses, have been patients for years and this is how we are treated when we bring our children to be care for by this practice. Two of the three wear glasses and it is only a matter of time before the third one needs them and this is how they treat their patients.

    Catando, Dr. Bruce R
I received an appointment one day after i called. The staff was excellent with service and friendliness. Dr. Catando was excellent with his examination and recommendations. I purchased one pair of bi-focals and another pair for golf. The glasses have been perfect in helping with my vision

    Dr. Catando is excellent.

He is very knowledgeable and thoughtful.  My whole family uses his office and my daughter has had glasses/contacts since she was 3 years old.

    Highly recommend Dr. Catando

Dr. Davis Lydia J OD PC
I had a problem. My eyes suddenly became very painful. I called them up and I was extremely impressed because they fit me in for an appointment immediately. There was just no problem, no issue. They just said that I really needed to go in and see them. I came in and they did a very thorough examination, recommended what I should do, and what I needed to do to rectify the problem. Then, they did call me and check on me because it turned out I had damaged my corneas. They called back to see if what they had recommended was working okay, and they did insist on a follow-up appointment to make sure that my eye had healed satisfactorily. I had gone to her once or twice, but in this case, it was an emergency situation. She handled it so well.

    Mudgil, Dr. A. Vijay
Dr. Mudgil and his team were prompt, attentive, empathetic, and completely professional. Highly recommended. I was thoroughly briefed on what to expect, how to prepare for both procedures, after-care following. Dr. Mudgil himself called me during the evening of the day of each procedure to make sure I was okay and to answer any questions. These people are the best of the best.

    Simon Eyes Associates
While the staff are friendly enough, my overall impression was lackluster. Simon Eye fitted me with a new pair of gas permeable contact lens because of a prescription change. (I have had gas permeable for 20 years) After a short time, the contact lens for one eye began to give me problems. It took several trips back to the office to finally get it right, and with each visit, the previous optometrist was no longer employed so I saw a new person each time, who seemed younger and less experienced than the previous person I saw. I started from scratch each time, which was very frustrating and delayed proper diagnosis and treatment. They had initially given me an ill-fitting lens, which exacerbated another problem. They tried blaming the problem on dry-eye and /or allergies. I finally cut my losses, went to a different doctor, and haven't had any problems since. The only good part was that they didn't charge me for each additional visit or new contact.

They were able to get me an appointment very quickly and the receptionist staff was very friendly. However the wait in the office was at least an hour, and there were several more periods of waiting throughout the day. I was there for several hours, and didn't actually talk to the doctor until the very end of my visit for only a very brief period of time. The doctor had a very cold bedside manner and seemed as if he were rushing me out of the office because he was so busy. The impression that the whole visit left with me was that I was wasting their time - as the mass was almost definitely of no concern and not the cause of my headaches. While this was good news, I had been seriously worried about it proir to my visit and didn't appreciate the rush and the cold treatment.

    Delaware Ophthalmology Consultants
I go to DE Ophthalmology for annual eye exams. I generally see Dr. Abel, but this year I saw Dr. Barrett. Both are excellent. In
the past, I have had Dr. Abel perform eye surgery - namely remove a cyst from my cornea. My previous doctor - an optometrist - told me that I had an eye infection and could not help. Dr. Abel quickly diagnosed a cyst and removed it on the first visit. This practice in general, and Dr. Abel specifically, are the best ophthalmologists I have ever visited (I have lived in 5 states). The
office is clear, bright and the staff highly professional. Dr. Abel is also an expert (amd has authoried severfal books) in using vitamins and supplements to manage general health and well bring. For example, when I mentioned I experienced intermittent skin eczema, he suggested 1000 mg/day of quercetin, a natural anti-oxidant found in some fruit and vegetables. A condition that I suffered though for 20 years is now completely gone (it required about 60 days to gain complete relief). Frankly, I would trust my eye health to no other local (DE and SE PA) eye practice and would only go to Dr. Abel for eye surgery.

    Modern Eye
I had to find a new eye doctor in center city and chose Modern Eye because of the positive Angies reviews, familiar location on Walnut St., and interesting interior aesthetic from the outside.
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff, attentive and professional doctors, convenient location, competitive pricing, and cool interior.
Cons: Disorganized office administration and long wait. I had to wait for over 15 min on both visits (with an appointment) and the doctors didn't seem aware that I was waiting. The office is very interesting with very unique and funky decor but the center city location is looking a bit shabby up on the second floor.

    Chester County Opticians Inc
Chester County Opticians Inc. worked out fine. I am using them. I saw them about three or four months ago. They are close and convenient for me and they have always been quite good on cost because I don't have insurance. Once of the really good things is they were willing to work with me to look at different opportunities to get contacts from different vendors. They were happy to help and get the prescription out to other people.
