AMoonlight Electric Of JamestownI consider excellent contractors like excellent doctors, lawyers, etc. Once you find one that you trust you keep on your rolodex and never look elsewhere. Moonlight Electric is one of these companies. I found through Angie's List and originally called due to an outlet at my mom's house not functioning but wanted to kill two birds with one stone so asked for an emergency generator quote when they came to fix outlet. Brad came to her house to look at outlet. Outlet was not receiving any electricity so he went to electrical panel - to my dismay the wire casing around one of the jumped wires had melted so when he quoted new emergency generator he also quoted replacing electrical panel. Thursday, August 9th the electrical panel and emergency generator were done (started at 7:30 am and were done around 5:30 pm - worked through lunch). Both were done to perfection by Brad, Pat and Tyler. These gentlemen were courteous, paid close attention to detail and answered any questions I had during the install. They also went over how everything ran prior to leaving. I was also impressed by Brad's very quick response time the morning of August 10th when my mom did not have any hot water coming from her on-demand hot water tank. I texted him at 7:53 am and by 9:41 am she was up and running again (gas lines needed to be bled). Would call them again and will recommend them to everyone I know that lives in this area. On a side note: I live in Cleveland and had the same work done at my house last year with same size generator and the price was about the same ! I am including two pictures of before and after regarding the electrical panel so you can see for yourself the quality of their work.- Dana A.

AB & M ELECTRICChad met with us prior to the work and we told him what we needed to have done (install an outlet outside along with a light for our back door and security light for our driveway). He suggested that we buy the lights we like at Lowes or Home Depot and he'd install them. That way we'd get exactly what we wanted at the price we wanted. He didn't try to force high priced lights at a marked up price. We thought that was great! We called when we purchased our lights and he was there within 2 days to install them and the outlet (at a time that was convenient to us!). They were done in less than 2 hours and left things as neat as they found them. We were quite pleased with the price and the response from Chad. We plan on using him again to run power to our garage.- Kate H.

AMoonlight Electric Of JamestownBrad visited a week in advance and was very thorough and professional. We reviewed all the work I wanted done and he provided some additional ideas (dimmer switches for the ceiling lights). He sent me an estimate 3 working days later. I called him back and we set up a time for the work to be done. Brad showed up with the crew on time. We walked through the house and reviewed the work. Brad left and the two young men began their work. They were young but very professional. I work out of my home and they respected my need for minimal disturbance and noise. We reviewed the work before they left and everything was perfect. Two later we are still very pleased.- Tom G.

DOne hour to set up a 32 " TV and sound bar. We are now using 3 remotes to operate TV. Kept asking questions. Second hour was the Harmony remote. First he did not bring computer. Had to use ours. Kept asking questions. He did not connect all of our equipment, we need to get someone else to correct what he did. Our last remote programming was done in 20 minutes. Plus during this covid time, he had to use bathroom.

FI called Standby Power during an extended power outage because my generator failed and the company that installed my generator 7 years ago was not answering phone or responding to voice mail messages. Standby Power , which also has the name ASTEROID on its service contract, returned my call but I found their service to be dishonest and totally unacceptable. I strongly recommend to stay clear of this company for the following reasons: 1. I believe their prices are inflated. A part they were going to replace for over $300 was replaced for about $100 by another company 2. They were not honest with me and left me with a non-functioning generator. I told them the company that originally installed my generator had looked at it recently but the other company didn't return my phone messages so I asked Standby/Asteroid to come back and fix it. I provided Standby/Asteroid with a list of everything the original company had found wrong with the generator. The scheduling receptionist at Standby/Asteroid assured me that a senior member of their team would come to my home with a more junior technician to diagnose the problem and take it from there. On the scheduled day, the senior person did not come, the technician who came knew nothing about the list of problems the original company provided and then after looking at my generator for about 15 minutes he drove away. When I called Standby/Asteroid they said they would not pick up the problem that another company started. I had clearly indicated the generator needed a major repair and that the original company had also looked at the generator. In short Standby/Asteroid is unreliable and more interested in managing their paperwork then they are in helping customers get their generator fixed.
