ALand's Home Remedies LLCWe have used Land's Home Remedies before in our own home which is closer to their business address in Cattaraugus, NY. We are so impressed with owner Jim that we asked him to do this job some 40 miles farther away although other contractors are available there. Jim has always made suggestions that either saved us money or made the end result much more attractive or functional so; when we find a good professional to work with, we prefer to stick with him. He's worth the little bit more he costs (not the lowest estimate) and in the end probably costs less.- M&J K.

AJeff Holt DBA Holt General ContractingWe had a issue with our cottage foundation because of the severe winter. Jeff Holt came out and did a site survey, he was very punctual and professional in explaining what needed to be done. He provided us a quote which was very competitive with other quotes we had. We agreed on a start date and when the date arrived he was on the job site. Jeff and his crew were very professional and looked after the property as they were doing the work. As he got into the project he did things that went beyond what we had agreed to because it was needed. When completed the job site was put back into order and you could barely tell the mess that was there only a couple of weeks ago. I'm planning on use Holt Construction for other projects we have planned in the future and have recommended him to our neighbors.- Robert T.

AJeff Holt DBA Holt General ContractingFrom the first day Jeff Holt was very professional and spent the time necessary to understand the existing windows and trim/mouldings. He presented a fair proposal for the work and brought in a representative from the window company to explain their products. He then measured each window and inspected the exterior and interior trim/mouldings. Once the windows arrived his crew was on time daily to start work, performed their jobs in a professional manner ensuring the protection of the house's new hardwood floors. They cleaned up each day and worked in such a manner to ensure the house was comfortable for my family. All work was started and completed on time with Jeff Holt personally inspecting the work several times each week. A high level of attention to detail was shown by all the crew members. The painting, electrical and insulation jobs were conducted in the same manner - with Jeff Holt presenting a proposal and with his crew performing at a high level. The work spanned most of the winter months so we became very familiar with the crew and their work ethics. They always had our comfort in mind since we continued to live in the house while the work was being done and ensured that the house was clean at the end of each work day. Shane Holt managed the daily work crews and advised us on the work each day. We never had to question how the work was being done or why. Shane made sure we were kept up to date. Given the high level of work performed by Holt General Contracting I would not hesitate to recommend them. They will be returning to renovate my kitchen and bathrooms in the near future.- Kaie S.

DI set up an estimate time a few days in advance; one hour before the appointment, they called to make sure my wife would be there - this was the first they'd mentioned a both-spouse requirement. Our schedules make that nearly impossible, especially on an hour's notice. The sales rep told me it was my fault, then transferred me to the "confirmation department," where someone there set up another appointment and assured me that I would NEVER find another contractor without this "both-spouse" requirement. After contacting five other businesses that were much easier to deal with, I called back to cancel my appointment - and was forced to endure one sales pitch after another from someone who just wouldn't cancel my appointment. It felt like an argument, not a business call. After I thought I'd finally ended all this and canceled the appointment, she asked me for a reason - as though we hadn't been talking all this time. I cited the difficulties in doing anything with them, and she asked me to consider them in the future... If it's this difficult to do something minor, I can only imagine the headaches with something major. I've already received prompt, personal, and professional attention from several of their competitors.
