Pest Control reviews in Venetia

    Bugs B Gone
I called and spoke to Sharon at Bugs B Gone in the morning, telling her that I had discovered carpenter ants in the wood on our porch and in the attic crawlspace above the porch the previous day. She was very patient with my lengthy explanation (as I wanted to provide as much pertinent information as possible.) I had chosen to call Bugs B Gone because of positive information about them that I found on Angie's List, and because they are a local company, and not a big chain outfit, like Orkin or Terminex. Because of some of the reviews I read on Angie's List, I asked her if her husband did all of the exterminating work. She said that he had been doing that, and then their two sons joined the business. She explained that one son had worked in an office environment after college and decided that was not for him. Now he enjoys working with different people all the time and having part if his work day spent outdoors. Sharon told me that one of the technicians (her sons or husband) would call me. It wasn't very long before I got a call from Cody. He came right over in about 20 minutes. He was very courteous, professional, and friendly. It was obvious that he enjoyed his work. As we talked, I came to understand that he is the son whom Sharon had told me about. Cody left no question unanswered about what he would do to solve my ant problem, and educated me on how this sort of infestation progresses, how the chemicals he uses work to kill the ants, and all the safety aspects of the whole process. I am a very inquisitive and particular person, and I felt very at ease with Cody on the job. The initial treatment was not only at the ant nesting sites, but also around the entire outside perimeter of the house, around every tree and shrub in the yard, inside the house in attic crawlspaces, in rooms with plumbing (because ants seek out water, and typically travel along on the water pipes), and in the basement on the outer walls that were accessible (and more is accessible than you might think because of the reach of the special application equipment), and around floor drains and doors (I think that's all!) Cody explained to me that the chemicals they use are not toxic to people or pets, in fact some of it is the same chemical found in veterinary flea and tick treatments . Because we've had ongoing sightings of large ants in and around our house over the years, and because our yard used to have a lot of trees, and still has a fair number, and also because the underground roots and parts of stumps from the large trees that were removed over the years remain in the ground, and also because there are large mulched beds around three sides of the house, I asked Cody about future preventive treatments. That is an option which he explained to me, and also pointed out that this initial treatment is guaranteed for one year. If we see any carpenter ants during the next year, the treatments needed to bring them under control again are included in what I paid today. How the future preventive treatments work is that after one year, Bugs B Gone will mail a notice with the amount to pay if you want to retreat after a year; for me that will be $115.

    CAPTURE CO

I had been hearing noises from under the floor and our c ats were guarding an air conditioner vent on the porch. We found peanut shells in  our basement. Mr. Montani inspected the outside of the home, the basement and attic and immediately diagnosed the problem as mice. He stayed for about 1/2 and corrected the issue.

He was very professional, knowledgeable and kind.

    Orkin Pest Control
Service man was VERY nice, went right to work, was always punctual.  Can't say their chemicals work.  No true reduction nay sot of bugs.  Not money well spent. for 1200 bucks a years,I want to see zero bugs.  Take 10 to the market and get a bug spray and do what hey do...then pocket the other $95.
Obviously their billing office stinks at keeping up on stuff.

    The Bee Hunter

Service was outstanding!  He originally came out and attempted to chemically treat the nest from the outside.  But since I had attempted to seal the hole, the chemical treatment was not successful.  So he came back out, at no additional charge.  This time he had to remove a small section of the interior ceiling to gain access to the hive.  By doing so, he was able to directly access the Yellow Jacket hive and remove it.  He was careful to make a very clean cut of the ceiling, thus making the repair afterwards much easier, and cleaner.  He cleaned up afterwards, and once again offered to come back at no additional charge should there be any remaining issues.  The issue has been completely resolved to our 100% satisfaction.  I would highly recommend his service for any bee-related issues.

    Bee Control
My experience was pretty good. They have been able to get rid of the bees. We did not like that they left some of the powder residue on the porch side walk and some got on our deck chairs. It was easily cleaned, though.

    SELWAY TERMITE CO INC
During this most recent visit, a small nest was found in a window frame, and Steve (from Selway) recommended a perimeter treatment for control. The price was very reasonable, and Steve thoroughly explained the treatment, and spelled out additional precautions we should take such as trimming tree branches so that they did not contact the house. He was punctual, pleasant, thorough, and very trustworthy. We will always rely on Selway if we have a problem.
