    TRI COUNTY ALARMS
Mike discussed the installation before coming to my home.  He was prepared for the install and completed the total job in about 4 hours.  Thorough instructions were given on the operation of the alarm.  Tri County was the third estimate given.  He showed he had more experience and solutions than any of the other companies.  Tri County pricing was also better than any of the others.

They are the ones who installed my system and they did a very good job. They were here for an hour-and-a-half and they did not charge me. They were right on time, introduced themselves when they came and told me what they were doing as we went along.

    Frontpoint
I just bought a new home and wanted reliable security (equipment and monitoring). After much research on FrontPoint (all of which was so positive I thought it must be too good to be true - but it's not!), I knew this was the company for me. The response time is almost instantaneous (testing, alerts, calls - no actual emergency events were triggered!). The equipment components are high-quality GE, there are many ways to customize it to suit your needs, lots add-ons are available (which is why I paid more than the basic $99 - I bought extra things), the control panel is extremely user-friendly, and all of the components (sensors, motion detectors, cameras, etc.) are very simple to self-install; no wiring is needed, and the adhesive used for attaching the sensors is VERY strong. If more is needed, the company is happy to send more, but the kit already includes extras.
When I set up the system and components, I called them to test and activate. They were so helpful, activation was easy, they tested everything remotely, and walked me through the basics and answered my questions.
Later I logged onto the central station's website where I could customize soooo many features, including email and/or text alerts if my son didn't arrive when expected, while I'm at work or out, or I'll know when he does arrive, or when a sensored door/window is left open after a period of time I choose, and so on (e.g., if I leave my basement slider door open for fresh air but forget to shut and lock it before I go to bed, I'll get a text or email, whatever I chose). AND I have the monitoring station's free app on my iPhone and iPad (works with Android too), so I can arm and disarm easily and from anywhere - same with my keyfob. I can just click arm on my way out the door, and disarm as I approach my front porch after work! I can check the status of the entire system from the website, my phone and tablet, including event logs. And say I'm out of town and my son wants to hang out at my house for a while (he's grown and lives away now), or my neighbor, who has a key, thinks something's wrong and wants to check it out, all I have to do is disarm from my phone's app or any website - even from across the country - and they can just use their key without worrying about arming or disarming. Of course I can give several people their own alarm code too, which is standard. And since it's all cellular instead of being hard-wired, no wannabe burglar can cut the phone lines and disable emergency dispatch - they don't work by landlines - it's fail safe - even on battery backup in the event of a power outage - AND it even alerts you when the batteries are low - after many years of use, or if a component isn't functioning properly (you don't want to find out something doesn't work AFTER you've been burglarized!) You don't even need internet/broadband for this system (except for the optional cameras - you need broadband for them). I can arm in Stay or Away mode from the control panel or remotely (stay = all systems are armed EXCEPT motion sensors, and away=all systems are armed INCLUDING motion). I can say sooooo much more but I'd never stop typing! Go to FrontPointSecurity.com and see for yourself.
And by the way? Customer service is FANTASTIC!!! I want to give a shout-out to Nathan Harless at FrontPoint and to Darlene Sisk at one of the resellers who actually sold me the system (Nathan finalized the transaction after purchase). Both of them are fantastic. And I don't remember the name of the young man who activated my system by phone after I set it up, but he was great too. What support! What a product! I have never felt safer (although being street-smart, I'd never let down my guard). Still, it's an extra layer of peace-of-mind). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

    Citadel Security Systems
I was very happy with them. Their prices were very reasonable and their monitoring is very reasonable. Their salesman was good and wasn't pushy. I wasn't ready at the time because I was still getting quotes but after doing my research I determined they were the best. My wife set off the alarm and they called within seconds. I recommend them.

    Slomin's Inc
These people are idiots. If you decide to go with them, you better pray that the install goes well, and you don't have any need to contact them for the duration of your contract.  They are famous for saying "Someone will call you back" and then you get to wait around for (you guessed it) NO ONE to call you back. Ever. Something else that would have been nice to know is that their ONLY service appointments are M-F with the latest being at 2pm.  Maybe if you are unemployed, under house arrest, and like it when people are extremely rude to you, this service would suit you. If not, go with someone else- ANYONE else.
