ABetterliving Patio Rooms of PittsburghWonderfully I am isolated due to chemo and COVID. We decided to convert our screened in porch to a four season room, so our three adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren could visit us through the glass window. We engaged Better Living Sunrooms and asked if we could have the room available by Thanksgiving, since we would not be able to see our family otherwise.. Ray Hemp was amazing when delays occurred due to COVID, He is an outstanding person of integrity who keeps his promises. He made it happen! We had lovely visits with our family, which I will never forget. Today, some items needed completed to finish the room. Ray and Anthony Mazzant (another outstanding person) spent several hours with us and finished the room. It is wonderful! Last week, when it snowed, we sat in the new room and watched the flakes fall, safe and warm. The room is all we were promised - it is beautiful! Thank you so much to Ray for making my holiday dreams come true.- Mary P.

ABetterliving Patio Rooms of PittsburghApproximately two years ago we added a Sunroom and deck on the back of our house. We chose BetterLiving Patio Rooms to do the job, and we were very pleased with the outcome and highly recommend them! We use the room all year as we added heat and air conditioning, and it has become our favorite room! The owner Ray was the individual we personally worked with. Ray and everyone on his staff were very professional and outstanding to work with. Many of our neighbors have complimented the work and have asked us who the contractor was. Every time we have friends or family over who are seeing the room for the first time, we continue to get the same response "WOW this room is beautiful, and look what it has done to the value of your home". We have made many improvements to our home over the years, but this by far was the best decision we made. It has not only become our favorite room, but our favorite retirement spot. It provides the beauty of our back yard all year long, its a fabulous room for reading, and anyone who is an artist or needs alot of light for projects, etc, it does the job perfectly! Our dog loves it as well as it gives her more visibility to bark at all of the animals in our yard. We also highly recommend the remote blinds for some privacy and blocking out the sun!- Curt R.

ARichard Felser CoThe job was done in a timely manner and the work performed met all of my expectations. I had a few issues but once I brought them to the company’s attention all issues were resolved immediately. I was very pleased with the staff of the company. I would highly recommend this company for your remodeling needs.- Lucy O.

AHome Pro RemodelersVery well. I am very pleased with both the three-season room and the deck. The workers were very reliable and knowledgeable. A little bit of a slow start because of rain but once the work started it went quickly. There were a few minor glitches that were quickly taken care of.- Anna Marie C.

APro Home and Sunroom LLCFrom the first call with Rick of Pro Home and Sunroom, I knew we were in good hands. We felt comfortable and confident with Rick and Wil, and knew they would bring our visions to reality. They were patient and always answered our very long list of questions, meeting after meeting. Wil designed our beautiful room, and it turned out exactly as shown, and we couldn't be happier. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Troy and his crew. They showed up daily, worked hard, and always looked out for our best interests. We get compliments daily on our room and it quickly became our favorite part of our forever home. We don't believe anyone could have done it better than Pro Home and Sunroom. We can never thank them enough.- Alicia M.

APro Home and Sunroom LLCMy family and I had looked into moving into a bigger home, but that just means more junk to manage. We opted to look into more living space and cut the hassle of moving. My Wife Found Pro Home, enter Rick and his team!! Rick helped us envision our possibilities, sort out all the complicated details and was ALWAYS answering my phone calls. We had multiple quotes for a similar project from other businesses (I insisted we educate our self's) but found they wanted to sell us stuff we don't need. Much like any complicated custom project, it takes time, skill and patience to complete. But the finished product is well worth your time and money, We could not be happier! We even had the building inspector comment on how fantastic the room was!- Clif M.

ABetterliving Patio Rooms of PittsburghBetter living was extremely responsive and helpful even though my project was fairly small. I had a very hard time getting other contractors to come out for a small project. They worked through all the city permit issues, then came out and demolished my old deck and build a beautiful new one in about a week. Everyone I spoke to throughout the process was very helpful. Highly recommended!- Eric Z.

FPro Home and Sunroom LLCI truly hope to be able to improve this review in the next few months. However, given the very challenging and disappointing experience I’ve had with Pro Sunroom since June of 2020, I felt obligated to transparently share my experience with other buyers, who are considering working with Pro Sunroom. If had known what I know now, I would have gone a different direction with our project, as we are now 8+ months into this project, with no end in sight. My experience with Pro Sunroom started in May 2020, when we began looking for companies to add a large, 4-seasons sunroom to our home. After a very smooth and professional sales process, we signed a contract in June 2020 with an estimated delivery date of our sunroom in 12 to 16 weeks (3 to 4 months). Since June of 2020, our project has been tarnished by an ongoing series of delays, missed commitments and an utter lack of communication. Construction on our project finally started in October of 2020 (4 months after signing an agreement and after countless commitments that “we’ll be starting soon”…) • The foundation for the room was completed the first week of October • After a 5 week delay, the framing for the room began and was completed by mid-November • Since mid-November, there has been no progress on our project • Our backyard has been left as shown in this picture – unsightly, completely unusable, full of mud and scattered trash, construction materials and waste. The wood and interior materials of the room are completely exposed to the elements. • Pro Sunroom has been unable to provide me a date as to when the project will resume. It has been two months of being told “hopefully soon”… • The only time I hear from Pro Sunroom is when I ask for an update or when they are looking to get paid. Communication throughout the process has been abysmal. • I have resorted to trying to get an update directly from the manufacturer of the glass, as to when our materials will be available. I’ve had limited success. • At this point, I’ve engaged our attorney to explore options to move forward In the spirit of transparency and honesty, there have been some positives throughout the process, but they are grossly overshadowed by the endless negatives: Pros: • When work occurs, it is well done. The quality of the foundation and the initial framing work is good. • The team doing the work is polite and professional • As mentioned previously, the sales process was smooth (albeit, full of questionable commitments). The 3D renderings of the project are very helpful in visualizing the room. Cons: • Endless delays with no end in sight • Complete lack of communication or involvement from the company owner (Rick Edwards). I’ve only seen him once during the construction to check on the work being done and I only proactively hear from him when he needs paid. I have to initiate all requests for a project update. Given the size of this project (and the cost), I’d be communicating with my customer weekly at minimum. This isn’t a small or inexpensive project… I’ll continue to update this story and share progress as the project (hopefully) moves forward. In the meantime, other perspective buyers are welcome to contact me to discuss my experience further. More to come…- Christopher K.

AWe hired Mike Goetz and crew to tear down our old deck and have a new one built (25x14 ). Mike agreed to a fair estimate during these Covid -19 times. The work was to start in Dec as per contract. The work started on time and a team of 4 workers worked diligently every day for about 9 days, never wasted any time, promptly showed up at 8:00 am every day, and left around 4:30 pm. The crew worked hard to meet the requirements of the Borough of Franklin Park and maintain safety standards. Truly a committed team. We are very happy with our deck it looks beautiful all the colors and materials selected blended well with our home. GREAT WORK, GREAT TEAM!

FCovered Patio with Masonry Fireplace DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Here is a 100% accurate reason why. COVID-19 is not the reason, although it was used as an excuse. The main reason is they do poor work and have ZERO craftsmanship. Roberto has zero vision or knowledge of what it takes to complete a custom project on time correctly. We signed a contract with Roberto on December 23, 2019. The project was started on May 13, 2020 and completed on December 11, 2020 (212 days). The whole project should have taken at the most 10–12 weeks, and that is being generous. Every step of the project from the concrete forming to the truss and beam framing had to be done twice because it was done incorrectly the first time. One of his subs even had the nerve to tell me “I am a lot happier how this turned out the second time”. That was after they had to tear down the entire sub-frame structure because it was done incorrectly the first time. The sub contractors that Roberto’s uses are all completely unreliable and unprofessional. One of his subs actually built the roof trusses on our brand new concrete patio and chipped the concrete in multiple places. The concrete actually cracked right down the middle because his concrete sub took 11 days to come back and cut the relief joints. (Relief joints should be cut within the first 24-48 hours at most). Every step of the way on this project was a compromise of quality and craftsmanship on our part. Our project included a lot of masonry work of which Roberto knows nothing about. The electrical portion of this project was so poorly executed that when we plugged an extension cord into the newly installed outlet, sparks shot out of the outlet. Roberto was also very unprofessional, he yelled at my wife after we refused to give him more money for work that was poorly done and unacceptable to us. We could go on an on about this entire project and how painful it was to endure. The entire project was documented with pictures and a daily journal to provide us with the necessary details. If after this review, you still use Roberto and HomePro Remodelers, (We highly recommend that you do not) make sure you watch every single step of your project and do not give him any money until the project is completely finished correctly.

DSo my husband hired Roy to remodel our entire bathroom. It started off well and towards the end Roy was becoming rude and sloppy when it came to finishing up. The tile in the shower wall was not level and the grout was not even. He refused to fix it. They also incorrectly caulked our tub and now we have had water damage for 2 years because we couldn't find the problem....they did not caulk the tub correctly and noticed it when we took the shower doors off completely. When we complain about the tile Roy also threatened us and told us if we took them to court we would not win. They are a rip off and do sloppy work.

AThis project exceeded our expectations! John always returned calls right away, showed up when he said exactly when he said he would, and completed the project without any gaps or delays. The price was fair and more reasonable that we have found with others bidding on our home repairs. He was meticulous with details, which isn't always easy to find when hiring a contractor. He didn't mind giving us options and was flexible about the choices we made with the project. (Project details: sand away varnish on 37 cabinets plus fridge panels, apply two coats of primer, one or two coats of topcoat for an excellent finish. Electrical repair for two lights. Trim replacement throughout kitchen. Carpentry repair on pull-out bin area mechanism. Replacement of all kitchen hardware including hinges throughout.) We are looking forward to our next project with John!
