  • I called on a Saturday, received a quick response and a punctual service call the following day as we agreed upon. The problem was corrected efficiently and professionally. My floors were protected from damage and the job site was cleaned up afterwards. The charge for service was fair.

  • Doug and Corey were really nice, explained everything that would be done. Did a very nice job and when they returned a few days later to pick up some things they left behind, we were removing an old clothes dryer that we realized it was directly wired. They offered to do the wiring job at a extremely low price, were done in 15 minutes and I was very thankful that they just happened to stop when I needed them! I will use them again when I need a project done.

  • On a Saturday night our water heater was leaking. We weren't exactly sure if it was from the heater or a possible pipe that may have froze. (It had been bitter cold for days) We called the emergency number to have it fixed as our basement was flooding. There was a 6 hour wait time and a $225 charge just to come through the door. The lady on the phone asked for the brand and type of water heater we had, just so they could replace it if indeed it turned out to be the water heater. 9 pm came around and the technician showed up, diagnosed it as a leaky water heater, but then stated "It's not going to get done tonight." The tech said they didn't have a water heater on the truck and we would have to call on Monday. What a huge inconvenience, as we just paid $225 to not have anything fixed and our basement still flooding. Monday comes around we call, explain what happened on Saturday night, and the lady on the phone states "we can have a tech come today, but it will be $135 to come through the door and diagnose the issue" Upset at this point I informed her I already paid them the $225 to come through the door to diagnose the problem on Saturday. After some back and forth conversation and being put on hold about three times she finally said "okay we will waive the $135 fee for you today." Then proceeded to say "the reason the water heater wasn't replaced over the weekend was because the tech reported that you refused to pay the weekend installation price and said you wanted to wait till Monday, in which the $135 would re apply." Why would I call after hours on the weekend, be willing to pay $225, and wait around for 6 hours to then turn around and say "no thanks I'll wait until Monday and have my basement flooded."? And why would they have asked me for the brand and type of water heater? Appalled at this moment I tried to explain to the woman that what she was saying was rediculous, and that is not what had occurred, but all she kept saying was "I can not help you, I'm sorry I wasn't on the weekend call." I asked to speak to someone that I could just place a complaint to then since the woman I was on the phone with couldn't deal with complaints. The supervisor was supposed to call me, but never did. (No surprise there) The two techs did come out and replace the water heater. They were very professional and polite, no issues with them. The water heater seems to be working well, but I will never use this company again as they clearly don't care about their customers and are only trying to rip people off.

  • Always very smooth and friendly. Feels like having a family friend over to help with repairs. All services were done quickly and professionally by Jim and team, so we will keep on bringing him over. He's usually in and out by the very quickly and always offers to come over the day after to make sure everything is working fine, so he stands by what he does. When our water pump stopped working he offered to bring us water before he could come replace it for us. The price is fair but when you price in this extra service he provides it becomes lower than the competition.

  • I knew the pump had to be pulled out of the ground. I knew the two or three things that could be the culprit. I just needed someone to do the job that wouldn’t take advantage of me financially, knew the ins and outs of what had to be done, and would do the task quickly, efficiently, completely, competently, and correctly. It’s not a lot to ask or expect from a professional tradesman. Bob Walter, the owner/operator of Pocono Mountain Plumbing told me when he’d be there and said he’d call when he was on the way. He did just that. I said I’d meet him there as I was running home from my office to let him in. When I pulled up he was already at work on the problem. He wasn’t sitting in his van waiting for me; he wasn’t mulling around or on the phone making other arrangements. He was already doing his job. His truck was already unloaded, his assistant was already setting up and gathering the tools they’d need, and the well was already partially disassembled... and I wasn’t even there yet. After a short introduction (as well as to his helper/nephew, Danny), I unlocked the house, and within five minutes the situation was diagnosed and repairs had begun. Bob didn’t stop explaining what he was doing throughout the entire process. Just from his description of what was happening and his actions as he performed them, he left no question as to his expertise, his thoroughness, what needed to be done, what was required and what was optional/recommended, how long it would take, and what it would cost. He pointed out what had been done incorrectly the last time it was “fixed,” and he remedied those things as he went along in his task. Not a moment was wasted (not the least of which was because it was 25 degrees outside). As a result of the way he works, what I envisioned as potentially a five to six hour job, was completed in under two hours: completely, correctly, and meticulously. Small things that others might have overlooked to cut corners were done (e.g. disinfecting the well, adding extra reinforcements of electrical tape at the joints connecting the pump and along the length of the pipe, etc.). As quickly as they showed up, they were gone - the job analyzed, quoted, performed, cleaned up, and paid for in less time than I thought it would take to just evaluate the situation. If there’s a higher accolade to be paid to a reliable and honest tradesman, I don’t know what it is other than to say that I have rarely had the pleasure of dealing with someone like Bob Walter. His demeanor, expertise, and sincerity are obvious. He is a true professional, and I wouldn’t hesitate to call him first and immediately with any plumbing or heating question.

  • As always, Steve was on-time for the appointment we made. He looked at the problem areas mentioned above, & told me what needed to be done to fix them. The sliding door had been somehow bumped off its track by a visitor; Steve fixed this so that it glides smoothly again. He installed the two new house thermostats, which requires electrical wiring, replacing the old ones which were not working correctly. The sink faucet had two worn O-rings, which Steve picked up for me, saving me the hassle of having to locate them myself, & he installed them, & re-assembled the faucet. All of the above work was completely quickly & correctly, & everything now works as it should. He always cleans up any mess left by his work, & is probably the neatest, cleanest service person I’ve met. Steve is a true professional, because he explains what needs to be done in the amount of detail the customer wishes to hear, he arrives on time, & he charges a fair amount for the work he does. As a "bonus", Steve checked my boiler specs & air handlers, which were not working on one floor of the house. Although he told me what he thought was wrong, & although he could have done the work himself, he advised me to seek a specialist in the area. Only a true professional (& a nice guy, I may add) would be willing to give advice to a customer that would cause him to lose business for a job he could have done himself. Steve gets my highest recommendation, & I'll be using his services again.

  • The master bath had to be completely gutted to the studs. It was redesigned to include a double vanity, large walk-in shower and private toilet area. The demolition crew shrink-wrapped the stairs leading to the second floor and cut 2 large pieces of the bedroom carpet which was being replaced to cover the wood flooring outside the bedroom to prevent damage. They removed everything from ceiling to floor and cleaned and vacuumed when they finished for the day. Each contractor that came into the house worked with the same care. They kept the bedroom door closed to keep dust from entering the rest of the house. They consulted with us to ensure where things were being placed met with our approval. They were all polite and respectful. It was obvious that each tradesman was proud of his work. We had a piece of stained glass we wanted inserted into the closet door with a transom above it for light. They took a flush door, inserted the glass and framed panels on it to give the same design as the rest of the doors in the room. From our initial contact with Tom who evaluated the job and worked up the quote to the final payment we can only say good things. Tom was always accessible. There was someone here working on the job nearly every day with just a few exceptions and the estimate was right in the ballpark at completion. We are so happy we chose Burke Construction, LLC and would recommend them 100%.
