ABENEYFIELD & FARRELLThe owner, Ben Babb, and his 2 man-crew removed the old insulation under the living room on the first day and immediately noticed a major problem with rotten wood on the rim board and seal plates on the patio-side of that room. Apparently, when the patio had been put in 20 years ago the contractor had put the metal rebar through the wood and it subsequently caused the wood next to it to have water rot. So, if you ever have a patio installed NEVER let them put the repair into wood. Anyway, the crew immediately devoted all their efforts to the demo of the concrete pad (with rebar) which had caused all the problems. Their efforts then turned toward replacing the rotted rim boards and seal plates and the house (in 2 locations) had to be jacked-up and the wood replaced. After a couple of days devoted to that project they were able to complete the insulation of the living room and the attic. I was totally impressed at how Ben's team was able to go from an insulation job to a major house infrastructure repair job, back to an insulation job. They reported everyday on time and worked hard until the end of each day. His team was polite, hard working, and worked well together. I was most impressed by the fact that when they identified the problem with the foundation and rotted wood that they were immediately capable of addressing the work that had to be done to fix those those problems, rather than for me to have to find another contractor. This company did it all. I was was also very appreciate that the company did not leave the job when they found problems, but were able to address them and keep on working. They were here for 5.5 days and I believe that they earned every cent that I was charged. I most definitely will hire them again. They are hard-working, respectful of the house they are working in and most importantly, honest and skilled workers.- Robert M S.

ABENEYFIELD & FARRELLThese guys were great. They kept the worksite clean, showed up on time and met their projections on completion date and budget. We had originally asked for an estimate on installing a vinyl plank floor. Instead we did it ourselves- Ben came over to show me how to get it started. The basement is now comfortable and dry. He also came back to fix one of our fluorescent lights after the job was done.- Christopher B.

FIntegrity ConstructionHorrible. The worst company I have had to deal with ever. They canceled the first appointment 4 times and every time it was after they were to be at our house. When they finally arrived it was a 4 hour presentation. 4 hours. So these guys were in my house from 6-10pm! My kids were tired and they needed to go to bed. They were very unprofessional. They refused to talk to just my husband so I could put the kids to bed. We asked them multiple times “what are the prices?” “What exactly are you selling”. Finally asked them to leave. They were pushy. They said we would get our quote the next day. 2 MONTHS later someone called us about our quote. They wanted to set up an appointment at our house for them to go over the quote. My husband said fine but you have 30 minutes then you have to leave. They canceled and rescheduled. We agreed on a Monday night at 6pm. At 6:30pm we received a phone call about how he, THE MANAGER, wasn’t going to make it out. Then the receptionist got made at us when we refused to reschedule. They 100% DO NOT live up to their name. Integrity is nothing to them. Just the worst.- Santina A.

ABarry and the team were very responsive to my questions throughout the process. We had a crew out here just over a week after signing the contract (would have been sooner but there was snow). They did a great job being careful and clean with a messy job. The crew was knowledgeable and accommodated our requests for logistical concerns. We are very happy with the work completed and it was smooth from start to finish. We are so relieved to have a dry basement and would recommend Basements.com for your needs!

DI set up an estimate time a few days in advance; one hour before the appointment, they called to make sure my wife would be there - this was the first they'd mentioned a both-spouse requirement. Our schedules make that nearly impossible, especially on an hour's notice. The sales rep told me it was my fault, then transferred me to the "confirmation department," where someone there set up another appointment and assured me that I would NEVER find another contractor without this "both-spouse" requirement. After contacting five other businesses that were much easier to deal with, I called back to cancel my appointment - and was forced to endure one sales pitch after another from someone who just wouldn't cancel my appointment. It felt like an argument, not a business call. After I thought I'd finally ended all this and canceled the appointment, she asked me for a reason - as though we hadn't been talking all this time. I cited the difficulties in doing anything with them, and she asked me to consider them in the future... If it's this difficult to do something minor, I can only imagine the headaches with something major. I've already received prompt, personal, and professional attention from several of their competitors.

FIt’s been over a year since Epic construction and Rick Steele abandoned my project and I had to complete it on my own by paying extra to have it done. They came recommended by an architect I hired to do the design for finishing a basement. Even though he was referred by the architect, right before the project was to begin he suggested we let go of the architect because he would get in the way. The architect did repeat himself a lot and meetings were long because of him and rick Steele promised to “personally” oversee the project so I don’t need the architect to do it. So we let the architect go. He also told us we didn’t need permits as we were not doing any structural changes. I believe 100% we needed permits but this was another way for him to do things subpar and get away with it. The project was supposed to take 3 month. It was 6 months into project when they left uncompleted. They were doing the bathroom tile and the tiles were not flush and it looked like the work of a 2 yr old. They agreed to reorder tiles and finish but they never did. I had to purchase the tile again, pay someone to take down old tile and redo work. They did not put hand rail in going down the stairs, no foot rails at the bar. I used 2 different wallpapers for the basement and they flip flopped them on wrong area and they had to be stripped off and ordered agin. The one wallpaper was on back order so when they left the project, I had to order the paper myself and pay someone to put it up. The bathroom door handles were installed with the lock on outside. The mural was put up in gym wrinkled. I ordered pendent lighting from a company in California and they blew them out while installing and frayed the wires so bad, not repairable and I had to pay to ship them back to be told they are not fixable and get new pendants and I hired an electrician when the left to install them. They also got rid of an outlet and covered it with wall paper. They ordered the wrong ceiling tiles and tried to convince me it was the exact one that I was holding a sample for.I showed them that this looks nothing like the sample, they said it was because the sample is smaller scale. I turned over a ceiling tile and showed them the numbers don’t match with the sample. I had to go to a local store that had the ceiling tile displayed in their showroom, borrow it from them and show epic construction that we had the wrong tiles. They said those tiles are too deep and we don’t have enough space but they spent weeks arguing with me that the ones they placed were the ones I ordered. They are crooked. They hire very young workers and I’m not sure if they are part of a votech program. we were out of town for 10 days towards end of project when our HVAC guy informed us that the architect we let go 6 months previous came over and checked out the basement while we were gone. When we asked Rick about it, he said he told him he could go. I gave rick access to my home to finish the work while were gone and not to have people come by to check it out. This project was an absolute disappointment with absolutely no deadlines met and the job was not even finished. I paid for an architect, the HVAC portion of project, the granite and still paid him over $100k for a basement project. Complete scammer. This will catch up to him even though his wife is an attorney.

Solar Wolf is a full service solar company with a great reputation and an old world belief to our customers. To under-promise and over-deliver, period. DI requested and received quotes from several installers ( From EnergySage.com) for a solar panel system with LG panels When we had Solar Wolf come out for a site visit they wanted to substitute a cheaper panel and charge us the same money even though we decided to go with a smaller system with eight fewer panels. We rebid the job and found another installer to install the original 48 LG panels and still paid $10,000 less than what Solar Wolf wanted. We actually found several installers that were much cheaper. It pays to shop around and do your homework.
