We have never had a bad experience with State College Family Medicine. I have find both doctors to be very thorough. Time and time again they are correct with an office diagnosis that is confirmed by blood test, an x-ray or other procedure. Their instincts are accurate, bedside manner impeccable and office staff friendly. I love having our doctors know each member of our family individually. When we ask questions or have concerns about our children they know them and can answer our questions with compassion and a first rate medical background. I could not recommend them more!

I have been going to Dr. Marian Garcia for 30 years now or more. She's great at diagnosing problems. She is great at referring me to specialist if a specialist is needed. I have no reason to leave her, she is just very good for a primary care physician. I'm always able to get in to see her every time I call with a problem and I could do it within the next 24 or 36 hours she take me in. I had an extra ordinary experience with her.

My original appointment had to be changed because of the doctor's availability change, but I saw the Physician's Assistant instead of the doctor and she was very helpful and thorough. I only had to wait a couple minutes after checking in for my appointment until the nurse took me back to the exam room. When the PA came in, she took her time and answered all my questions and offered suggestions and options for my ongoing health care. A couple blood tests were suggested based on my medical history so orders were submitted for those and I just had to come back after a 12 hour fast to have those done. I've seen a few different doctors and PAs at this practice over the years, and have always been happy with their service and expertise.

I use the Geisinger group for all my medical needs. They get me in consistently early, I can make an appointment quickly and easily and through the website mygeisinger.org I have access to all my medical needs. I can even request prescriptions ask questions via email rather than having to make an appointment. Everything with Geisinger seems to work better than anywhere else I've received health care. I highly recommend this service provider and will likely use them the rest of my life.

Dr. Mooney and his staff are excellent.  Here is a Doc who is willing to listen to you and treat you like you might just know something about your own body.  He works WITH you to find a solution.  We have used him since moving to State College over 20 years ago.  I have seen him treat every age from infant to my mother who is 89 years old.  You can't find better!

He is a good down to earth doctor. He is very comfortable and explains everything to me. If I see him on the street he is the same as he is in the office. He talks to me in English language. His writing is horrible; I tell him that I am glad that the pharmacist can read it. I tell him that he has to practice to have that bad of handwriting. He has had to have a good sense of humor to put up with me for 12 years. He has been really great. I am really outspoken and I don't agree with everything they want me to do. I am an herbalist and I have even gotten him to recommend herbs.

They are very punctual, have great breadth of knowledge and specialists when needed. My health has improved since following their advice and treatments. A high quality family practice with specialists to call on when needed.

He is a doctor of Osteopathy (DO). He is absolutely wonderful. I have a lot of health problems and so, I see him on a regular basis. He is incredibly dedicated and goes out of his way to make sure that things work and that you are healthy. The office follows up on everything and the nurses will call you back. They are very responsive. If you call them with a problem, they will get you in on that day if they need to. I will be in a very big trouble if he stops practicing because he is phenomenal. He is a family practitioner and so, he sees my entire family. He was there when my son was born and helped out with that. He does everything and he is a great person. I will definitely continue to use him in the future as I have appointments with him every other month through out the rest of the year. It is a very small office. He has got himself and a physician assistant. He deliberately keeps it small because he has been in practices where he had three or four physicians. He did not like that because you would not know your patients and you would be covering somebody else's patients. He wants to know about what is going on and he needs the history of his patients. For example, if he sees somebody and they say that they need some drug then he would not know if they are hypochondriac or about what is going on. He has deliberately left larger practices which meant more money for him. He deliberately stays small so that he knows all of his patients and he can see them. He would also know their family history and everything else that is going on with them. It is absolutely wonderful and I cannot say enough good things about him.

Overall, I was very disappointed with my latest experience with Geisinger. My appointment was okay until I began speaking with the doctor. Her first comment to me was and quot; So, you don't have health insurance?and quot; I said that I did not. I also said that I was there because I was having several issues with my weight and wanted to find out what was going on with my body. Her next statement was and quot;Well, it looks to me like you need to eat less and exercise more.and quot; She made this statement without any questions or comments from me. When I began telling her about family history and my own experiences, she seemed to avoid the idea of lab work. She made mention of the fact that lab work can get pretty expensive. ( I would have been alright with paying if it meant knowing what was happening with my body.) After about 5 minutes of getting no where, she offered to check my lungs and heart with her stethoscope. Once she finished that, I thanked her and left.

I was shocked when I recieved my bill in the mail. $220.00 for a few minutes of her time. I got no help from her whatsoever. When I called Geisinger to ask about the amount of the bill, I began by being on hold for a long period of time. Once I spoke with the representative, I was told that the amount was higher than normal because I was a and quot;newand quot; patient. According to the rep, new patients are charged more because it takes more time to get information! I told her that I wasn't a new patient, but that I haven't been to see a doctor in a couple years. She still gave me the same reason for the high price. I asked for information about the uncompensated coverage offered by Geisinger. She began listing what was necessary for me to apply. A COMPLETE Federal Tax Return (no summeries allowed), All checking and savings statements, IRA, Dividends and Capital Gains, ect......

I didn't feel comfortable giving all that information to a doctor's office, so I ended up paying. It is not that I don't want to pay my bills, however, I like to get some sort of service or product for my money! I won't be returning to Geisinger after this experience.

Not very well....I've been trying for months to find out why my body hurts..not just every now and then but All day every day. Muscles, joints, from head to toe nothing but pain. Dr. B. McCleary would have blood drawn and sent me 1 time for X-Rays and of course listen to my breathing with every office visit. Every time I would get an answer of maybe it's a virus,so when I did a little digging on my symptoms and would ask him to check me for various things he would say sure it could be that and just give me Meds. for it. Never checking me for it just handing out DRUGS..When I had the X-Rays done his office person called me and said things looked okay but that they could see I was having muscle spasms. Two days later she calls me again and says I have Arthritis in my back have a good day. I had to ask for an appointment to talk to the doctor about it. So now I'm going to a different doctor to see if I can find out whats wrong with me.
