Philadelphia Brick & Stone Pointing Inc.
The flagstones on my front door landing and steps came loose over the years and became a trip hazard.  I contacted 10 contractors to obtain quotes to repair the landing and steps.  I spoke with a few and I was told that they are booked through Spring 2015 and won't be able to do the work.  Others, didn't even have the simple courtesy to return my messages.  The few who returned my messages quoted me very high.  One even told me that I would have to remove all 5 of the stes and landing and rebuild the whole thing.  So, you can imagine how high the quote was.
But, as God would have it, I called Philadelphia Brick & Stone Pointing, Inc and spoke with Denis.  He was very courteous on the phone.  I explained to him the problem, and he understood excatly what I was talking about and was very knowledgeable about the causes and repair work needed. He also guaranteed me that he would be able to do it within two weeks, weather permitting.  We had some rainy days and had to push back the date.  But, Denis was so professional, he informed me of the date changes in a timely manner.  Finally, we had some non-rainy days and we set a date.  I had planned on being on site to observe the work.  But, Denis suggested that there is no need for me to take off from work.  Based on my previous communications with him, I trusted his judgments and knew that he would do an excellent job.  And, indeed he did an excellent job.  He arrived on site and completed the job the same day and I was quite impressed with the work done.  The workmanship was superb.  He removed the old flagstones and installed the new ones and they were laid down properly.  The pointing was on point.  He cleaned up after he was finisihed and then came back about two weeks later to waterproof the landing and steps.  He even sealed some other areas around the steps/landing that was not in the contract.  I was just so happy to find him, as it is truly hard to find good contractor like him.  I am a very happy and satisfied customer and I just love looking at my new landing and steps.  I won't hesitate to hire him in the future.
If you need this type of work done, or any other masonry-related work, give Denis a call.  You will get great work, great price, great customer service and overally professionalism from Philadelphia Brick & Stone Pointing, Inc.

The owner of the company arrived on Monday, 5/27/13 to make preparations for the installation of the two new sump pumps. He removed the old sump pumps, removed the standing water in the wells, cut and custom fit the pipes and tubing and cleaned the wells with a vinegar solution. While making the preparations he made himself available to answer any questions I had regarding what he was doing, and what he was planning to do. The preparation phase was done in a timely manor, and he made every effort to protect my property.
On Tuesday, 5/28/13 the owner of the company returned with a worker as planned to install the two new sump pumps .Upon completion of the job, all warranties were given to me. I paid the balance I owed and they were on their way.  Everything was done according to the plan. Overall, it was a very pleasant and professional experience.
Kane General Construction Company is very reputable, and I do plan to do business with them again. I would recommend them to anyone.
    Sincerely,
    Mr. Young

We had a pervasive leak in my basement and had several contractors come out to help us understand what the problem was. Mr. Cook was the third person to suggest that it may be a problem with my gutters, so I accepted his suggestion to change out the gutter guards, which we knew weren't functional and to sweep the debris from the valley of the roof. He made a specific point to take me outside and across the street to see exactly what he was talking about. The initial consultation went great, but the problems began when they came to complete the work. First of all, the workers did not let me know they were on property by ringing my bell (even though there was a car in the driveway). I called the owner to complain and he was apologetic. Since I did not watch them, I have to assume that they did replace the gutter guards. About 20 minutes after they left, I went out to see if they had swept the roof valleys and they had not. I called and spoke to his very rude secretary who tried to convince me that the debris had just fallen. She told me that someone would get back to me, but instead I got a bill in the mail the next day indicating that the job was complete. In order to avoid talking to his secretary again, I wrote a letter letting the owner know what happened and that we would be happy to pay him once the job was complete to my satisfaction. The owner and I played telephone tag for a number of days, but once reaching my husband treated him as if he had no say so in the matter and insisted on discussing this only with me. Once the owner and I did connect, he offered to come take a look personally to see if the roof valley had been swept (duh). He came several days later and left his business card. When I called him to find out the verdict, his rude secretary told me that the guys would be out to sweep the roof valley within a week. The worst thing in all of this however is that our basement continued to leak until we had another procedure done at half the price and was completed in a day.

The owner was extremely nice and informative, the workers did a wonderful job, and the owner was nice enough to come out the following day to inspect the work and tie up any loose ends.

While they were digging in the basement they hit an oil line and now there is oil in the basement and they are telling me they are not responsible and to contact some one else.
