    Topp Of The Line Remodeling
First off, the owner came out and went over everything with me in great detail. I explained my expectations and desires regarding my project. I was given a prompt estimate. After reviewing and meeting with so many dreadful contractors, I decided to go with my gut instinct and hire Topp Of The Line Remodeling. And I am so glad that I did!! My kitchen is beautiful. The owner and his in house designer are full of terrific ideas. I host all the Holidays now and have monthly dinner parties. I receive so many complements on my new kitchen and bath. It makes my house complete. I would highly recommend Topp Of The Line Remodeling. They were prompt, professional, honest, trustworthy and friendly. Please give these guys a chance like I did-every story has 2 or 3 sides. If you want high end upgrades and the latest styles these are guys you need to hire! You won't be disappointed. I am going to rehire them to build an addition this Summer!! Thank you Topp Of The Line Remodeling!

    RICK HORN CONSTRUCTION, INC.
Work was performed in the most professional manner possible. Crew was on time every day. Great care was taken to protect the non-construction zones of my house. Outcomes exceeded expectations. Rick was responsiveness and fair in all aspects of the job.

    B&M Home Improvements
My husband and I were thinking about remodeling our unfinished basement into a bar/living room area after four years of having it as a storage area. We went through Angies list looking for contractors, and decided to interview four from the list, as well as one other general contractor who had been recommended by a family member. We werent sure we even wanted to go through the expense, time and disruption of a basement remodel (especially since it was loaded with lots and lots of clutter that we needed to get rid of if we were going to do this!) It took us over three weeks to finally interview all five contractors in person due to schedules (theirs and ours). We had read all of the reviews of each contractor on Angies List. We needed to find someone who was honest and trustworthy, competent, experienced, and who we felt would give us the best value for our money. We found that in Brien Miller of B & M Home Improvements. Brien was the first one to respond to all of our inquiries, and made time to meet with us to answer all of our questions. He met with us a couple of times while we were still deciding whether or not we were going to go ahead with the job. He was the first one to submit an estimate. Though he was not the most expensive or the least expensive of the bids we had received, we felt that he was the one who could deliver on the vision of what we had for the basement. After meeting with him in person, talking with him on the phone about additional questions we had, and going over ideas for our basement, we felt that he was the one who would be the best to work with within our time frame. He had many great ideas about how to complete the space, and it was obvious from the beginning that he knew what he was doing. Once we found Brien, we decided to go through with the basement project. But, having had bad experiences with other contractors in the past, we called several references of people who had recently had work completed.just to be sure. Those people raved about Brien and his company, and were thoroughly satisfied with the work. We felt confident that we had found the right person for our job. Brien, along with his crew of two began working in July 2016. Brien was on the job every day with them, and he worked right alongside of them, supervising and directing. We always felt comfortable with them in the house, and would go about our daily routines secure in the knowledge that they would be conscientious about their work. They put in an honest days work every single day, cleaned up the job site every day before they left, and locked the doors behind them. The basement remodel was extensive, and included adding a bathroom and a bar area, along with framing separate areas and closets. The bathroom was a bit of a challenge, given where the rough-ins had been placedbut we worked together and came up with a very creative way of finishing the space. Brien came up with a way to hide the pipe access area with a vent cover. He also complete re-designed the sink cabinet we had purchased from Ikea to fit the space. He created a shower stall to fit the space, and tiled it beautifully. The bar area turned out beautifully as well. They installed wall and base cabinets, the electrician wired for a dishwasher, wine refrigerator, under-cabinet lighting, and refrigerator. They used the plumber to install lines for the sink. They installed our overhead lighting fixture for the bar. Brien installed our tile for the backsplash and made sure the cabinets were ready to be fitted for the countertop. They installed about 20 overhead lights throughout the basement area, which includes a separate hallway to the outside. We had decided to divide the space into some clearly defined areas, which we separated with pocket doors. So, we have the option of keeping the doors open for an expansive feelor close them off for when we want it more of a private, cozy space. We had laminate flooring installed in the bulk of the basement, and vinyl flooring in the bathroom. They created two huge closets for us, and storage under the steps, in addition to a storage space behind the finished area of the basement. This is a workshop area for my husband, and they hung some huge work lights for him so we have bright light in there for the first time in four years! We have two big support poles in the basement, which are in awkward areas for a basement remodel. We talked about different options as to disguise them. Brien designed and made deep custom shelves on which we can display collectibles, books, toys, etc. It was a clever way to hide those ugly poles . We were so impressed by the work that Brien was doing, that early on in the basement remodeling process, we asked him to give us a bid on two other jobs that we were considering. One was an addition to the basement area, which would be used a sunroom. We had already had two patio room companies come out to give us bids previously, and had an idea of what we wantedbut were not comfortable with the idea of an all-glass room. So, after talking with Brien and listening to his ideas, we decided to hire him to complete sunroom addition. The third job that we wanted to have done was enclosing a space under our deck to be used as an outdoor shed to house a lawn tractor and other garden tools for our back yard. We discussed what would be involved with that as well, and decided to have that done as well. Consequently, we had Brien and his company working on three separate jobs simultaneously. We were really impressed at how quickly everything came togetherframing, drywall, electrical, plumbing. Brien hired and supervised subcontractors that hes used for years to complete some of the specialized work (electrical, plumbing, dry walling, painting) since we had them working on three jobs at once essentially. The subcontractors were also people we felt were trustworthy and competent in our home. The sunroom addition required excavation and cement foundation work, creating a block wall, and framing and installation of windows (which we had ordered from a company we had used previously). It also required the removal of two windows from our basement and the creation of a French doorway into the sunroom from the basement, where the windows had been. Brien and his crew completed all of this work to our great satisfaction. One of our concerns with adding a room to the back of the house was that it must match the architecture of the house. We did not want something that looked like it was an add on; rather, we wanted a room that would look like it had always been there. This was accomplished. Brien matched the siding perfectly, and the configuration of the windows match our existing windows and the architecture. The shed under the deck was completed in less than a week, and Brien even built a custom door that easily accommodates the lawn tractor. He used the two windows that we had removed from the basement to provide light into the shed, and to match with the architecture of the house. The shed looks like a little room with windows rather than a place to house tools. Brien and his crew completed the basement in early October, but had to leave us for two weeks while we waited for the special windows for the sunroom which were backordered. They returned as soon as the windows were delivered, and completed the sunroom over the next week. In this room, we had chosen ceramic tile for the floor, so after they installed all the windows, they completed the floor installation in a day or two. They also installed a ceiling fan on the cathedral ceiling. Throughout the entire three months that Brien and his crew were here working on the three jobs, we were always updated on progress, and consulted for our input. We always felt like we were treated with the utmost respect and care. A couple of times we changed our mind about something, and Brien accommodated our requests after discussing alternatives. They worked with us every step of the way, and Brien always asked if we were happy with what was being accomplished. He said more than once that he wanted us to be happy with the work. They have been back once, at our request, to tweak a few things that we found after they had moved on to their next job. It was like seeing old friends. After three months of having them a part of our daily lives, they did become friends of ours. Our basement doesnt even look like a basement anymore. It looks like a comfortable bar/kitchen and living room. We never went into the basement before this remodel, unless it was to go through all of the stuff on wire shelves to try to find something! It had been a dark, cluttered, storage areawith bags of insulation on the walls and a concrete floor. Now it is bright, beautiful, welcoming and wonderful. Friends and family who knew what the before are absolutely speechless when they see it now! The sunroom is a showstopper as wellbright, sunny and a place to read and relax, where my gardener husband has his plants growingall year round now. The storage shed has made it possible for the lawn tractor to be parked where it is usedin the backyard, rather than taking up space in the garage. We couldnt be more thrilled with how everything has turned out. We have definitely increased the value of our home by these improvements. But more importantly, we have another beautiful space in which to entertain friends and family and enjoy every single day. Thank you, Brien. It has been a pleasure working with you and Chuck and Bob. Im sure we will be working with you in the future on those few other things we have discussed with you! We highly recommend Brien Moore and B&M Home Improvements.

    WEXFORD CONSTRUCTION LLC
Came out and looked at the hatch. Removed rotted wood, built custom exterior hatch cover using materials that will not rot due to moisture. Also repaired exterior back stairs, an additional project that was added and is included in cost. Quality of work is outstanding and I will definitely use them again. Price was reasonable as the work was work was perfection.

    Brnardic Corporation
They did a very nice job! I had no problems with their service. It turned out a little bit different than I imagined, but it wasn't their fault. It worked out to longer than four hours of their time with two people working. They had to go get supplies and the job took longer (7 hours in total approx.) which is why the total cost came to about $700. They charged $49/person after the Big Deal.

    Cullen Construction
    This guy is AWESOME!
We moved into our house in the late summer, and had an extensive program of home improvements that we needed to finish by early October.  The biggest job was the finishing out of our basement, which was effectively a shell, containing the remnants of several aborted efforts (by the previous owners) to convert it into useable space.
We spent some time getting competitive quotes and design ideas from construction companies.  Bob turned his bid around quicker than the others (usually a good sign in a contractor), and it turned out to win on price too.  We invited Bob around for a second design discussion, after which we decided to give him the work.
We've been extremely happy with everything that Bob's done.  He has a collaborative approach to design, he gives good quality advice on how to get good quality/value, and was always open to changes of plan.  He has some very good sub-contractors - we were amazed at how quickly the extensive dry-walling was done to a high quality, and his electrician has done other work for us outside of the scope of the project.  Plus Bob does great carpentry work himself - we gave him some trickier work (replacing some poorly-hung doors elsewhere in our house with solid oak slabs, for example) all of which has been done to a high quality.
The best thing though, was that Bob always made himself available and was usually on site when work was going on.  When we were looking for contractors for this project, the most common warning that friends gave us was that their contractors had got sucked into other jobs, causing delays to their work.  Throughout this extensive project, we saw progress every day, and we were never concerned that the work wouldn't be done on time.
We can't recommend this company highly enough!

    MILO SERVICES MS
We solicited bids from a three contractors for converting a garage to an apartment for an elderly retiring pastor. Keeping costs down, while maintaining a beautiful result was essential. Milo's bid was over what we wanted to spend, but the lowest of the three. He agreed to take on the project and work to lower costs at all points, allowing us to do part of the work to save money. He  wanted to help and this is what made us select him.
Milo needed to bring in water, septic, electricity, and gas to the garage. He constructed walls for kitchen, bath, and bedroom. He did lighting, plumbing, heating, ac, drywall, built in bookshelves and bed. Basically, he created a complete house in miniature working from a very simple drawing (donated services!) by our architect (Mimi Jong of MLJ Architects--also fantastic!)  Milo Services-- Milo, his father Clyde, and  Billy Domhoff (electrician) created a first class team: incredibly friendly, a joy to greet each morning, excellent craftsmen. They worked seamlessly together helping each other out, creatively resolving unforeseen problems. We have worked with numerous contractors and have been burned by shoddy work, unethical behavior, nonpayment of subcontractors, etc.
Finally, we have found the best. We only wish we could give Milo Services a higher rating!

    Cartage Home Remodelers Inc
They did painting, and a little drywall repair. The work they did was fine. It was not anything complicated or difficult. They were very neat. The work was fine. They were prompt. For the type of work we had done I would use them again.

    North Hills Homeworks, LLC
We were very happy with the experience we had with Steve and North Hills Homeworks. He was brought in on our renovation based on a recommendation of a handyman we were working with. We were in the process of gutting and renovating all 12 rooms in our 100-year old house. He was very honest and friendly while doing the work. The jobs were well done and clean afterward. He went above and beyond several times while suggesting changes as well as asking for our opinions on several things. There was no question we asked that was too small. When the time comes to finish our basement and add our deck, we will be contacting Steve.

    THOMAS SCAFF COMPANY
Job was quoted with a lead time of several months due to other work scheduled. When the larger project was delayed by one week waiting for a fire insurance adjuster to release payments to the other family, Tom moved our smaller project in and completed it in four days. We had a party the following weekend. Tom Scaff has an excellent word of mouth reputation and his lead time can sometimes be extended because of it. He is always part of the work crew and is an excellent finish carpenter.
