  • Working with Mr. Walsh and his team was a wonderful experience. From the beginning, they made me feel like family. The team really diffused a stressful situation with confidence and assurance that the job would be complete. Since my home is on a slab, it required a very complex solution to replace my main water supply and fix the sewer. Instead of destroying my stairs, front door, walkway and garden, they came up with a simpler solution. Once the job was complete, you can barely notice any damage and the work they do is certified! I will be using them again for any future plumbing needs.

  • It was okay. He was decent. He did a good job for what he did. There was something I was happy with the pipes he did. He did a good job. With the drain, it was too high for what he did. It's a little more pricey than I expected for the drain cleaning. There was a problem with the stopper but they couldn't get that. Overall, he did a good job at a good price. He was a nice guy. He charged $350 for the drain pipes he had to put in as well as a new faucet. He's very responsive and he's on time. He's very professional.

  • I called about 4:01 PM on Saturday 02-07-14 when I noticed water on the basement floor after a shower upstairs.  Left a message to get a call back.  At 4:08 PM I received a call back stating that they would be around 6 PM.  Around 5 PM I got a knock at the door.  They ask me what the problem was, reviewed the situation and told me what the price would be.  It took about 2 hours to clear out the clog that was towards the the street.   They first tried to go via the downstairs toilet since the sewage stack was behind drywall in the basement.  After that did not work, they cut a small opening in the wall (behind a table so you can even see it) and cleared the clog.   They set everything back to normal and were on their way.  Pretty good deal for a Saturday late afternoon.  Best outcome I could hope for as far as clog sewer lines go.  I would highly recommend them and would definitely use their services again (hoping I do not need to).

  • The technician was originally out on Saturday 8/17/13 when we first scheduled service to survey the issue.  He determined the cartridge was indeed blown and he tried calling their supply house to secure the part, but unfortunately, it was closed.  He asked to reschedule the work for sometime during the following week for a time that would be convenient for us.  We scheduled him to return on Friday 8/24 between 8AM - 11AM.  He arrived at 10:00 Am and completed installation of the new cartridge within 45 minutes.  He was very neat and courteous and fixed the issue.
This is the second time we've called Roto-Rooter this summer and both times we were pleased with their response time and service.  We like the fact that you can schedule service on the Roto Rooter website.  You search the website for the nearest location - ours happened to be in Delaware - and put in your information and the description of your problem and select a date and time you want service.  They call you on the day of service before the tech is due to arrive to let you know he's on his way.

  • If you are thinking about hiring a contractor please take a minute and read my review of my wonderful experiences with JC.
We wanted to update our kitchen without gutting it. We just wanted a dishwasher, new sink and countertops. Our floor, range and cabinets are all relatively new. We received 6 estimated and everybody but JC wanted to replace he cabinets. One contractor demanded that he would not do the job unless it included the cabinets. My wife found out about angieslist.com and thats how we found JC Remodeling.
Joe came into out house the day after we called him. When we explained our "vision" and not wanting to replace our cabinets he just said no problem. We picked out the type of countertops, sink, dishwasher from places like home depot because Joe wanted us to take our time. Then when we came back and told him what we wanted he sat down and went over the prices of everything. Where we can save money... Example the price of marble vs Corian. He told us about discounts he could get for our new fixtures and dishwasher. He did not rush us. Our estimate process took two weeks. He was very upfront with how much he was going to charge us and a detailed list of the costs. Most estimates I received from other contractors was just a number on their letterhead... 7k we take credit cards!!!  JC was one of the cheapest but we probably would at that point paid more because of the service and piece of mind. (dont tell him that he is going to do more work for us)
Little did i realize that was the tip of the iceberg. JC took a check deposit and started ordering our things immediately. He explained the timeline to us in exact detail and the only question mark was the company making the custom countertop because it was Corian. We got daily phone calls and follow us emails to my email address and my wife's when a item came in, double checking the timeline and when he would be coming to the house to measure something. (which was great bc I did not have to constantly repeat everything to my wife)The representative from the Corian guy came out to measure our kitchen and honestly he was a real a**hole. Joe noticed that he was very short with me and told the guy to hit the bricks. I never saw him again.
We knew it would take about 2 weeks for the countertops to be made but we still received a email and call every other day telling us JC was checking on it.
After all the items were in and we scheduled a time to come out. (I think it was only a day or two later bc of my schedule. JC was ready) Joe explained it would take 2 days and gave me every last detail on how the process was going to work. After day 1 he hooked our old sink back up just so we would would not have to go without one for 12 hours. JC's team of people were nice, respectful of my home. (side note one of the guys smoked and i have had guys just light up in the house. Joes guy when he was on break walked around the corner to smoke so he would not possibly disturb me or my neighbors.) they also placed drop clothes before they started so they would not track anything in the house.
After day 2 we had our kitchen and they finished EARLY!!! of their original quoted timeline

So fast forward a year and a half later my dishwasher stopped draining (because my 2 year old apparently put some loose change to be washed without my knowing) also the faucet had a crack in it... A manufactures defect. I emailed Janice from JC on Friday afternoon. I got a immediate response that they would be out Monday Morning at 8am. Joe replaced the faucet while we are waiting for the new one to be mailed from the manufacturer. Joe also did not leave until we fixed the dishwasher. Something was wrong with the pump. He could have easily referred me to GE the maker if the dishwasher and go though their service department. Joe saved me a lot of headache having to call GE and money because he just charged me a small fee. A lot less than replacing the pump or having GE come to the house.
Dealing with JC remodeling has been the best experience not just with a contractor but with buying anything (car house landscaping.....)
The kitchen looks great! No corners were cut and the price was right!!! Thank you!. If you have any questions please drop me a email gregrepice@gmail.com.

  • The sewer drainage pipe in our basement backed up and water started pooling around it after we ran a load of laundry.  We confirmed it was drainage problem by flushing a toilet, which caused more water to come out of the pipe.  The water would very slowly recede so I assumed it was a clog.  This happened on a Sunday but I saw that 24/7 listed Sunday hours (and had an excellent rating), so I called hoping there wouldn't be any emergency charge.  I left a message and Channing called me back within half an hour.  I explained the situation and he was very courteous and said he could come out, with no charge unless they did the work.  I thought that was great for a weekend visit.  He asked if I could think of something that might have caused it, so I explained we were having our kitchen remodeled.  He then asked if we had tiling done and I told him they had put in a tile floor.  He said it was possible they dumped some of the grout waste down the drain and that was grabbing onto anything that flushed down there, so that could have been the problem.  I will ask the contractor but my main concern was just getting it cleared up that day since we couldn't use the sinks or toilets.

Channing said he would arrive by 3 pm (about an hour and a half from the time of our conversation), maybe even earlier.  He got to the house at 3:20, but I'm not going to complain about 20 minutes.  He and his associate took a look and told me the two cheapest options - use a curb plunger for $85 or, if that didn't work, run a machine, which normally cost around $150, though if they had to come back to do it later, he'd offer a discount price of $99.  Again, I was very pleased with his attitude towards pricing.  We decided to try the curb plunger first.  He went outside to the access pipe by the curb and stuck a long pole with a rubber disc on the end down it.  He plunged it a few times and then said he could hear the water running (side note - he told me how at least one other company would sometimes intentionally break the trap down there to force the home owner to have to pay them to dig up the whole pipe - pretty sleazy).  I couldn't really hear the water but I wasn't as close to the pipe.  So then we filled up the tub and drained that and flushed a toilet at the same time.  I could then hear the water running, and there was no backup inside.  So that seemed to fix it.  We poured a couple of buckets of water around the basement drain to clean the area, we've flushed the toilet a couple times, and we've done more loads of laundry, and everything has drained with no problems, so I think it's fixed.  Channing only charged $75 since it was so quick, and again reiterated if they had to come back out they would offer a discount.  He was very friendly and polite.  Absolutely no complaints about the experience and I would definitely recommend their company.

  • Our kitchen sink has a long drain line with multiple bends. We have a pretty good garbage disposal, so it took about 5 years for me to jam it up so bad that my husband could not unblock it. Dan coordinated with my husband (several phone calls) to get here at a time that was good for him. He quoted a price for replacing the complicated arrangement of pipes under the sink and unclogging the drain, and even though the clog was more resistant than he had thought, the price stayed the same. He was pleasant throughout, and explained things to us as he worked and gave us advice on avoiding problems in the future. We were very impressed, and will definitely use him again.

  • I called Paul on Friday morning, he returned my call later that day however, I was out for the rest of the day. I returned his call on Saturday and told him of my problem. He said he could be out within the hour (and he was). He arrived promptly, with the right tools and equipment to do the job. It took him maybe a little over an hour as my old pipe was rusted on. Other estimates I received (just to replace the sink trap) ranged between $85 - $200+ for this work and they couldn't come out for a couple of days. Considering Paul had to do a little more than initially expected...I was happy with the price and thrilled that he could fix my drain that day. Paul was friendly, and professional and I would hire him again in a heart beat.
