  • Colby Davis showed up on time and sent a thorough estimate that seemed fair and he did so in a timely fashion. (This alone is half the battle with contractors) I was onsite for the start of the work. Prep work was done properly and professionally. Workers were polite, helpful and competent. We added to the original estimate some wallpaper stripping for the vestibule as it seemed the best way to ensure a proper job. I would use this firm again without hesitation.

  • They did a wonderful job! Their skilled professional painters paid close attention to detail and made the work look easy. They were careful to properly prep/clean up their work area, painted well, and completed the job on time. We would highly recommend Westley and his crew and look forward to having them return to do some exterior painting on our home in the future.

  • They power washed my deck, cleaned and repaired gutters, installed a new sink, new faucet, painted shutters on the front of my house, they fixed and installed the toilet in my powder room, they always do a great job.

  • It went beautifully.  Matt's ratings are all at the top so I didn't feel the need to compare.  The work was done beautifully and way better than I could have done myself, if I had the time to do it.  So all the jobs that I knew had to be done and were weighing on my mind are done.  What a relief.  And the price for the work was more than fair.  And my wife calls me "Jack Benny".  For you young ones, Jack Benny was comedian famous for being a miser in the 50's and 60's.  I highly recommend this company.  Since it seems I have to put something in the price paid box, I'll put $100.  Of course it was more than that, but every job is different and you can't compare when you don't know how much or how little was involved.  Get your estimate and decide for yourself.

  • Prior to having Dan come out I received several quotes from other contractors listed on Angie's List, but I was not comfortable with their proposals and level of painting knowledge.  After meeting Dan, I felt completely confident that he understood what I was looking to do with the job and was willing to ensure that I would be happy with the results after the job was completed.  Although his bid was not the lowest, I decided to move forward with Dan due to his knowledge, customer focus and willingness to back up his work with a 3 year warranty.

We arranged a start time, and his team was right on schedule.  His work leader, John, met with me before getting started and detailed what would be done each day and the approximate timeline.  John is a professional who has been painting a long time and knows the difference between the right way and the quick, easy way.  At every stage of the process, I felt completely comfortable that the crew knew what they were doing and would make sure the job was done right.

Due to some rainy and windy conditions, it took about 2 weeks to get the entire job completed.  We did encounter some small issues along the way, but after speaking with Dan all of my concerns were addressed and corrected quickly and fairly.  Dan's only concern was my complete satisfaction with the work, and this was evident in every conversation.

My house looks incredible now, and I would recommend Dan and his crew to anyone who is looking for a professional team that gets the job done the right way.

  • John was very easy to work with in general.  He came in and assessed the job as promised & on time.  His quote was substantially less & his estimated timeline faster than other contractors I had come in for an estimate.  The original scope of the work was only the basement remodel including hardwood flooring, drywall repair, baseboard & crown mouldings.  His quote only included the labor portion of the work and did not include materials or disposal.  This was something that he was clear about at the beginning.  When I had questions about the types of materials to use or about options, he listened to my concerns and helped me understand the options available.  When John had questions about the job, he contacted me right away instead of assuming what I would want done.

I proposed the additional work soon after John started the job, and he quickly quoted and completed the additional work.  He even purchased & disposed of all of the materials for the work on the shed.  I offered several times to give him a partial payment to cover the cost of the work done so far, but John refused to take any payment until the job was completed.  John did everything as he said he would and kept coming back until I was completely satisfied.

John is someone that I would highly recommend for general contracting work as he was true to his word and his goal was my complete satisfaction.

  • Provided verbal estimate after detailed personal inspection and requirements conversation with home owner. Arranged date and time for work to be done. On day of work called and changed start time from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Reason given was that another customer had chosen the wrong stain and he had to re-do their job. Stated that he takes great pride in his work... When asked if work to be done for me could be completed in the adjusted amount of time he assured me it would. Arrived at 1:00 PM, pressure washed front of house meticulously. One bedroom screen damaged by pressure washing and has to be replaced. Removed downstairs shutters for painting. When I asked how he was going to get shutters over porch down he told me he wasn't painting the upstairs shutters - they weren't part of the estimate! Cleaned/painted four downstairs shutters and replaced. Discovered when replacing the shutters several of the clips were broken. One shutter could not be secured properly because of the broken clips and is pulling away from house in two places. I bought clips that evening and promptly called him. He called back and left message with date when he would return to replace the clips in the shutters. Waited for him all day on specified date and he never showed. Have called him numerous times and left messages which have gone unanswered. In good faith I paid him by check on day of work (before clips were replaced) and it was promptly cashed. It has been over six weeks and I've decided not to pursue this. Will find someone else to finish the job and hope that the shutter isn't too badly warped from the heat to go back properly. I am especially disappointed because when I saw the pressure wash job, I thought I had a good guy to do my deck and back of my house next summer. Needless to say, I won't be using him again. In retrospect I made two key mistakes - 1) should have obtained a written estimate for all work to be done; 2) not paid until the clips were replaced (i.e. job completed). I learned of this provider from a neighbor whose deck he finished. I regret having to do a report like this but it is important that people know and are protected from vendors like this. It is why I joined Angie's List.

Addendum 6/12/2012:  After reading this vendor's response I stand by my review. I am not at all confused and there are a number of inaccuracies in the response. If you choose to use this vendor, and he does do good power washing, be sure to obtain a detailed, written quote of all aspects of the job including covering any damage. The other thing I did not do is determine licensing. Be sure to ascertain that he is licensed. When reviewing this I did recall one thing he did for me that was not previously agreed upon. He changed a porch light bulb after completing the power washing job. I was never mad or insulted in any way, actually, I was quite pleased and appreciative of the amount he asked to do the small portion of my neighbor's house which was $45.00. I was indeed unhappy when he did not return on date he had specified to replace the clip (which I purchased) on the right shutter. I did call several times to no avail but never received a call back from him. In my final call I did leave a message indicating my disappointment and stating that he need not return to my home and I would do no further business with him.

  • Ed came to the house for a free consultation for exterior and interior painting.  We decided to go with the exterior painting and hold off on painting the interior until we were certain our puppy would not destruct any more walls.  Ed and his staff (Ed supervises all of his jobs.) came to the house on schedule, finished within the day, and did a beautiful job!

Also available is a decorator to help with color choices, etc., definitely a plus for future work to be done at our home.

  • It went quite well. I had all these repair items always on my mind with no time to deal with them and no real expertise. I am so happy to have found Richard Noll as a handyman. He is good and he is reasonable. I can install a faucet, but it takes me 3 hours to do what he can do in 10 minutes. I have used franchise companies in the past like Mr Handyman and Kitchen Makeovers? and after being fleeced by those two I swore never again. Go on Angie's list and find a handyman.
