    The premise for the repairs in question was to render the Porsche's reliability. It was a classic 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 with approximetely 23, 000 miles. Any components that, upon close inspection and verification, could become unreliable were to be replaced as new. 
    After four months at the provider's location, the vehicle had to be towed twice (2x), was damaged during the first tow (Sunday, April 12, 2015), by tow operator. $7250 later, the vehicle is still not up to satisfactory expectations. There is an additional mechanical failure with the vehicle that has to be assessed. This review will be amended upon that assessment. 
     Previously, in my nearly 60 years of driving experience, I have never had to have a vehicle towed when I did my own repairs - nor following any other repair (done at other shops and/or dealer). Most disappointingly, the provider's father impeccably repaired a Porsche 911 for the owner in the 1970's!
    Payments: first payment of $3800 (circa April 10, 2015) was cash at provider's request (the provider voiced a "cash-flow problem"). Second payment (circa April 16, 2015) was for $250, and a requested LOAN of $3000 was made, requested by provider prior to the next phase of repairs. In the ensuing weeks and months, the owner had to constantly petition the provider for a written accounting of parts, labor and repairs made. The owner also endured a certain level of verbal abuse from the provider concering the previously mentioned items. 
    The only original part returned to the owner by the provider was the cold air supply. The provider made no effort o provide proof or evidence of any other parts replaced or repairs made. A key piece sheet metal panel was left off under the car, the provider indicating to the owner that "You don't need that." The original exhaust muffler and other parts, which would facilitate returning the car to stock condition in the future, were not returned.

    Purchased 4 Kelly safari tires with installation and mounting.  Had to come back for alignment because of time until close.  Brought vehicle back and had alignment done.  Tech didn't tighten front end sufficiently and had to take back to have alignment redone and front end components tightened securely which they did at no charge.  
    Very reasonable for tires and sell quality products plus accept Goodyear credit.

    Found problem with transfer case. They couldn't offer repair service or recommend a repair shop. Twice b efore after having vehicle alignment done they cross threaded the lug nuts making in next to impossible to remove wheels and requiring studs to be replaced.

    Got labor estimate to install clutch and pressure plate in my sons 1996 Ford Ranger.  Upon inspection found that vehicle also needed hydraulic line and master cylinder.  only added an hour labor to install those and bleed system.  This guy always does good work and is very reasonable.  Always contacts you with any additions that are necessary for the repair.  Very good all around shop.

    I've used Mike Testa for three years and can give numerous examples of his good work.
    Like the time I broke down nearby to his garage and literally coasted in. He immediately looked at the car said it was the "command module" and even said he thought there was a "recall" on it. Sure enough after making sure we got home, he called to say that there was a recall on that part. (To my embarrassment I had an unopened recall notice on the table from Pontiac). He gave me the option of arranging a tow to an approved dealer or that he would do the work himself. I said do it. It was finished the very next day. I paid him directly for the work, and he provided me with the appropriate paperwork to give to Pontiac. They reimbursed me fully with no questions asked!
    Ever since, he's kept our cars in excellent running condition! And does nothing that isn't necessary. Like the time I asked for an oil change while doing a 120,000 mile check up. He pointed out that the manufacturer recommended 5,000 miles, not 3,000 miles like the "Quickie Lube" places and showed me that the oil was in fact very clean.
    I guess having a mechanic you can trust is just one less thing to worry about!

    Although I have had many experiences my favorite was when the motor for the top of my Allante convertible went bad. The motor was no longer made or in stock anywhere. They simply downloaded the schematics and built one for much less than the price for a used one online.
