Water Heater Repair And Installation reviews in Radnor

  • After doing lots of research on Geothermal systems and reading glowing reviews, we decided to go with Sinton, and it worked out just beautifully. Bill Sinton is not only the owner, but is totally involved in the whole installation all the way through, and his sons Jamie and Matt are fully trained in the entire process. This is such a pleasure after experiencing companies that send their "sell" man out to sell you and then you never see him again - and who knows who the actual workers are. No - Sinton is a total family process, with his intelligent young sons doing the entire job, accountably, neatly, and with integrity. But most importantly for us, when Bill discovered that our existing heating system was lacking important return ducting, they showed us why our heat never felt right, and proposed a big job that was not a happy moment to hear about, but it was the RIGHT thing to do. Bill explained that finally our upstairs and downstairs would be the same level temperature - we didn't think that was possible. They basically redid the entire system, and we now finally have a house that feels uniformly warm and comfortable, and the benefit of being off fossil fuels!!! Also, they always returned our calls immediately, from Mallory (the daughter) in the office, to Bill, to his sons who were always available and let us know exactly what the schedule was and Stuck to It! We are so grateful to have found people who are smart enough to understand what is needed, skilled and responsible enough to do it properly, and nice enough to explain it all to us. We cannot give a high enough recommendation to Bill Sinton and his family business.

  • I was really impressed with the team engineer. He was extremely professional, he knew everything. I got a few quotes before, so I know a few come up with some figures and the btu, etc. He knew everything on top of his head. He came up with a solution of a water heater and boiler. Which is saving us a lot of money every year, about $500 just for the water heater. The gas we are saving about $2,000 a year. When the team came to install they were on time, they were super professional. they were super clean. They used protection for their boots. They used protection for the wood floor. They took out the very old oil tank and the cast iron oil boiler, which was very messy, but it was all included. They took care of the permit with the township and the install was beautiful. It was really well done. We have a 3-zone system and the now valves are extremely, they are working great. It was really the best experience I have ever had with any contractor or any professional around here.

  • Jim always shows up when he says that he will, does high quality work and charges a fair price. He practices by himself and is one of the good guys. If you have plumbing needs in the Upper Main Line area and particularly Wayne PA, you should absolutely give Jim a call.

  • We have an 80+ year old house, and so we occasionally have 80 year old house plumbing problems. The most recent - the cold water pipe to the 1st floor shower is the original piping, and it has a ton of build up inside of it which has dramatically lessened cold water flow - thus making showers a bit of a lobster boil. The ideal approach is clearly replace the pipe, but that involves knocking down some wall and it is only a guest bathroom and we're not ready to remodel it. So what to do? Well Stephen and my wife came up with a creative solution - put a valve on our hot water heater that allows us to control the temperature of the water coming out of the heater. Guest wants to take a shower, adjust the valve so the water coming from the heater is 100 - 102 degrees, guest runs only the hot water on the shower (plenty of pressure there), takes shower, and when the shower is over just readjust the valve back to the normal hot water temperature. Cost was 25% of replacing the pipe outright, takes a total of 3 minutes to do, and everyone is happy.
I mention this, because it demonstrates what I have liked about Henderson's every time we have used them:
    1) Strive to do no harm (very easy with an old house to have a small simple plumbing repair become something much bigger - enjoyed watching the lack of a modern washer [probably would have cost $1 if made today] for a faucet in a former old house turn into a repair that cost $14K to have a working bathroom [that plumber - not Henderson - did nothing wrong, just the issues of dealing with an old house)
    2) Be creative - is there another solution that will get the desired end result more easily?
    3) Give advice on how to prevent or mitigate against a problem that required their services so we won't need them again or as soon - all advice given by Henderson plumbers to date has been immensely helpful and worked in relation to slow drains, clogged laundry room sinks, etc.
So to sum it up, we have been very satisfied with Henderson Plumbing and will continue to use them. Their staff are polite, professional, and know their stuff.

  • The first repair visit was on Monday, March 30th after I had called on Saturday, March 28th to make an appointment. Our problem was that the relief valve of the hot water heater was constantly releasing pressure and water. The water company Aqua advised that we needed to have the pressure reducing valve from the main water line replaced.
After this first repair visit, the problem seemed to be fixed, until I came home from work on Tuesday night, March 31st and the hot water pressure heater was releasing pressure and hot water again. We had it overflowing into the kitchen, and it was a big mess.
I called Mainline Plumbing Services immediately the following morning to let them know about the renewed problem, and the conclusion was that a defective valve had been installed. Tom, the owner of Mainline Plumbing, took it upon himself to make sure that the new valve was checked out at the shop before he came over on Thursday, April 2nd to replace the defective valve and also ensure that the shut off valve, which was still leaking, was totally fixed.
After all, it was a pleasant experience that the repair was seen through to my total satisfaction. Tom repeatedly said that his company is standing behind their service and wants to ensure it is done right. And it is done right. I will definitely use Mainline Plumbing Services again, and I am glad that I have now found a good Plumbing Company to turn to in case of need.

  • Tom first fixed our old water heater for 129. We asked for an estimate for a new heater, knowing the current heater was on its last leg. He quickly provided an estimate of 795 and we scheduled the removal of the old water heater and installation of a new heater. Very clean, arrived on time and professional.

  • John arrived on time and did a great job installing my new kitchen sink and powder room toilet.  He is very efficient and very conscientious.  He does great work!  John has been doing plumbing work for us for over 15 years!  I always recommend John when someone I know is looking for a plumber.

  • As usual, Paul is professional, on time, efficient, and very knowledgeable. He explained in just enough detail all about the new appliance. When he and his helpers left, I was satisfied that he did exactly what he promised. He has done work for us in the past and we will continue to call on him.

  • Bob and Brian were great. They responded quickly to replace my old, leaking water heater and had a new one installed and everything cleaned up very efficiently. They even took the time to check the water pressure on an outside faucet when they noticed it seemed too high. It turns out it is way too high and some pressure relief valves should be replaced asap. This isn't even something their company does...they just brought it to my attention so I'd know to get it taken care of. I found that most impressive. I highly recommend them.

  • I bought a Big Deal voucher in July for comprehensive plumbing inspection and water-heater flush. I was excited because I have several plumbing issues that I was hoping to discuss with him (that would be in addition to the voucher/water heater flush). I was hoping to use the voucher to find whether this was a good plumber. The provider sent me an email asking for my number and said that he would call me. I waited several weeks, but never heard from him. Finally I called him myself. He said he could only perform the service on the weekend or late at night or very early in the morning.

None of those times work for me (I have 3 small children). In order to perform the service at a reasonable time, the provider said it would be very difficult because 'it kills his whole day.' The provider suggested that I contact Angie's List for a refund on the voucher. The unfortunate part is that I have other plumbing needs that I was hoping to discuss with him, but he didn't seem interested. My rating is for the communication issue and the feeling that I was left with after our discussion that I was bothering him by calling him. If the voucher service is only performed at odd hours during the week, that should be mentioned in the voucher.
