    Millenium Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling
Contractor met with us at length to discuss the scope of the project.  Sent copy of printed scope and worked from that document.  Very clearly spelled out.  Contractor was available by phone and email and promptly returned communication.  Workers were very professional and also worked off of the scope of work.  We were asked repeatedly if we were happy with the results of the work at various stages.  If we expressed any concern, the issue was discussed and corrected.  Contractor worked with propane supplier to manage needs for fireplace install.    At completion everything looked great.

He was punctual, and provided a fair estimate.  I emailed him and went over the details and he was very professional.  I have other work I need to have done first but will certainly call on him to perform the work when my budget allows.

    Mark Group
About a month after the inspection, I met with a different company representative.  I found the rep to be aggressive in the sales pitch.  I had the window replacement removed from the quote but went with the spray-in insulation for the basement and the attic and a door stop and 2 insulated doors.  The workers who did the installation were very professional and did a complete walk thru with me.
My issue with the Mark Group was arranging for payment.  I normally due electronic bank transfer for most of my purchases and have rarely had an issue.  The reps at Mark Group had never heard of a electronic bank transfer.  I called the company several days after I transferred the money for the deposit to arrange the date for the work.  Mark Group refused to schedule a date since they did not have any records of payment.  Usually I have never had any issue with scheduling a date and the reps refusal to discuss a date was very annoying.  I guess that as long as you pay with paper check, money order or cash, you won't have any problems.

First, let me say that Meghan at Greenstone was nothing short of phenominal to work with. I set up this project through the Keystone Help/Energyworks Program. Part of this project included the work Greenstone did, and along with that work, I also had my heater replaced by another company, Boyertown Oil.

Meghan actually called me while she was on vacation and gave me an overview of the entire process and how things would go with both the loan company, and with the project itself. She let me know what I could expect from whom in regards to paperwork, phone calls, etc. She was very punctual and informative throughout the entire process, and was very thorough in her explanations of any questions I had along the way.

That said, Greenstone did an excellent job. I've witnessed several projects performed by contractors in my lifetime on both my home and on my parents home, and I've learned that you don't always get what you pay for. As such, I've basically taken the stance that I evaluate any work a contractor does, and compare it to the kind of work I would do if I were knowledgeable/capable of doing it myself. Because I'm a perfectionist, my standards, naturally, are very high. Greenstone did not dissapoint in that regard.

When I first met with Dutch, we went through my entire house, and he pointed out things that could be done to help reduce my energy costs. He not only pointed out several improvements that could be made by his company, but also pointed out things I could do on my own accord (meaning he could have added those services in to his scope of work, but instead, let me know I could do it myself for a significantly lower cost). He took the time to explain why he was pointing them out, and what the end result of "resolving" anything he pointed out would be. I was very impressed by his professionalism, and gained a sense of him looking at my house as if it were his own, and as if it were his own money he'd be spending. That, I can say from experience, isn't something you find everyday. Dutch wrote up the estimate and gave me a final dollar amount, down to the penny. He told me when they would arrive to do the work, what they would do, how they would do it, and when they would be finished up.

The day the work started - about an hour after the team frmo Greenstone arrived, Dutch came by to make sure things were going well, that his team hadn't run into any unforseen problems, and to double check if I had any questions or concerns.
He did the same thing on the second day. Once his team was finished the job, they took the time to clean everything up and left my home exactly as it was before they arrived.

I know this review may be a bit hard to believe, and it may come off as if I'm saying Greenstone is the best contractor ever. I can't say that with 100% certianty, though, simply because I haven't worked with all of the contractors in the home improvement business. However, I can say that they are the best I've worked with by far when it comes to their professionalism. After all was said and done, I didn't have the feeling that I was just taken for a ride. I didn't, and still don't, have buyers remorse. To use an analogy, I don't feel like I took my car to the mechanic for a check engine light only to be told the turn signal fluid needed replaced. Anyone with a bit of automotive knowledge knows there is no such thing as turn signal fluid. I wil ldo business with Greenstone again, once the loan for this project is paid off. The next project I will be working with Greenstone on will be replacing the windows in my house.

    West Chester Insulation Inc
We like the professionalism of the West Chester Insulation person who came for the sales. He did not try to overcharge and actually recommended a way to save money but still meet the needs of my house. He also worked with the roofing company that I have hired so I know that the insulation does align with the other activities that are ongoing.

    Thomas Neuman Insulation Inc
He scheduled a time and came out. He was very professional. He laid down plastics in all the rooms and hallways.  He covered everything that could be possibly covered

After they were done, they cleaned up everything, took up the plastic, and vacuumed where they where!

    Eric's Spray Foam
We had had insulation done by Eric previously (foam insulation was applied around skylights) and liked his work so we asked him to come back to do a second job. Both insulation jobs that he did were to areas that were challenging to access on our house addition. Eric took the time to carefully explain his recommendations and patiently answered all of our questions. We had some of the areas prepped (drywall installers, etc) and he also thoroughly addressed their questions in a timely manner. In addition, I found Eric to be very professional and pleasant. I am happy to recommend his services and would be happy to hire him again for future work.

    Total Restoration Contracting
After the major rains that caused flood warnings in the area several weeks ago, we discovered the morning after that our sump pump had failed and there was two inches of water coating our lovely finished basement. Panicking, we called around for restoration companies but many were already busy dealing with other customers experiencing the same. Finally, Total Restoration got back to us and said that they could come today due to the emergency nature of the situation. It was a great relief. They arrived on time and evaluated the situation. We had already done some work to mitigate the damage, such as sucking up some water and moving stuff out of the basement. The lead contractor looked at the damage and said they could do the job. We asked for an estimate, since unfortunately we only had a limited amount of $ from the insurance company that would not cover all the damage. He said he couldn't give us an exact number "until they got back to their computer and plugged in the numbers", but gave us a general price range. Normally we would not accept this but it was an emergency and time was of the essence, so we agreed. They started to work and did a great job. All the employees were professional and kept us updated. When the removal and cutting was completed they left fans and a dehumidifier running for several days to dry stuff off. After the job was done we received our invoice, which the final price was definitely in the high range of the previous quote. Overall though they did a professional and thorough job - so much so that when our basement flooded -again- a week later, but to a lesser extent this time, we hired them again for drying and cleaning services.

The workers were very friendly and answered any questions for us. After they did the entire home, our heater didn't even kick in overnight! They did an extremely good job. They cleaned everything up well, and just did a great job.
