Hvac Repair reviews in Norristown

I'm Eric's wife, and I'm writing the review since I dealt with the company the most. We were contacted by GreenWay before we even completed our Angie's List search. My husband had only partially filled out the survey about what kind of work you are looking to have done, and had not submitted it. They called us within an hour or so of starting the survey, and claimed they had some kind of inside network that gave them potential contacts instantly. We decided to see what they had to say, so the salesman came over Friday, February 1, and we liked his offer, so we decided to go with them, since they were through Angie's List. He promised and guaranteed our new boiler is the very best out there and would be installed in ONE DAY ONLY. He also asked us to please, please, please let them come Monday, February 4 (in just 3 days) to install it, since they had an opening where their crews did not have work and we were doing them a favor by keeping the crews employed. We agreed, since we were using supplemental heating measures because our old boiler had died. Day One, Feb 4: The first 2 guys were very creepy--standing too close, looking me over, just all kinds of uncomfortable, not like any kind of worker we've ever had in our house. We homeschool, so if I didn't have my 2 big teenagers with me, I'd have been calling friends to have a large guy to come over. They also spent the entire day telling me that my EXPLICITLY PROMISED ONE DAY INSTALL was not going to be one day. They also complained, argued, and told me about all the things that they could or would not do. I expressly asked them to keep our outer house doors closed, since we have cats who like to escape, and they said they would close the doors, but they continuously left the doors fully open (as wide as the hinges will allow), even when they were in the basement, doing NOTHING. My husband watched them on camera, since he couldn't be home. When they finally started doing something with the old boiler, the senior guy (the extra creepy one) shocked himself because he didn't disconnect the power from the boiler. Also, the guy appeared really confused, even though he was supposed to be a Bryant Certified Installer. He had to read the installation manual multiple times! Furthermore, he walked around my husband's workshop picking up my husband's tools and looking at them. At one point, he waved at the camera and then blocked it with something. The parts for the boiler and the new boiler were not delivered until 3:00 that afternoon, even though the workers had showed up at 8:45 (45 minutes late)--you would think that a company that BEGGED us to allow them to install on Monday, after selling us the boiler 3 days prior on Friday, would have the parts necessary to start work! Then the installation supervisor LIED to me and tried to tell me that steam heat is rare so that's what took so long. I said that is completely false, as our city used to be exclusively steam heat and there are multiple parts houses, two of which are both within 10 minutes of my house! He then backtracked and said yes, that's true, but they still had trouble getting the parts. Really?!? The workers were also quite unprofessional. When they came back from lunch, they made the comment in my presence, "Well, we're just going to have to suck it up," while looking at me! I complained to the company throughout the day, calls were answered, but slowly, and they usually called me back, not answering their phones directly. The office DID answer directly almost every time, but they never know anything and just tell you someone will call you back. One or two additional guys showed up in order to move the new boiler into the basement, but then left. When they moved the old boiler off its foundation, they dropped it on a slightly damaged area of my basement floor, causing the damage to TRIPLE in area and double in depth. The two guys left at 4:00 without telling me they were leaving, leaving the new boiler on the foundation and partially wired, but with NO attached plumbing. When I complained again, the company told me they guys were totally out of line and would most likely be fired. So, the following day, the two new guys showed up a little before 8 and around 8:30. My husband stayed home in case another two creeps came to the house. The new workers were shocked that the previous two guys had been actually fired, and asked me about it, but I was hearing this second hand from the workers, and not from the company. They had to completely redo EVERYTHING the previous guys had done. They had made such a mess of the wiring, the new senior installer had to spend quite a bit of time troubleshooting what the heck the previous guy had done. They also told me that they would most likely not finish in one day. When I called the installation supervisor and the salesman who sold us the boiler, who were supposed to be our contacts, they did not answer their phones. They did not call me back until I left a message with the main company, as they did not answer their phone, either. They basically told me, oh well, it will be another day. The same two guys showed up the next day (day 3 of a guaranteed one day installation), and finally got it running around 6 PM, but didn't leave until around 7, due to paperwork, a bit of adjusting things, etc. They still had not removed the old boiler, the boxes of parts, etc. We had to shut down the boiler after they left because there was a huge leak in my kitchen (a 5 x 10 foot puddle of black water). The company did not call me back. Only one guy showed up on the fourth day around 11 AM or 12. He installed a new valve for the malfunctioning radiator and tightened a nut where the radiator connects to the steam pipe. He was supposed to remove the old boiler that day, but didn't, said probably tomorrow, because they needed tools to break up the old boiler in order to get it out. He ignored the boxes of parts left in my basement. He left around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Day 5. No one shows up. We thought maybe there had been a miscommunication and they would come out Monday the 11th, but no one called or showed. I will admit I did not call them for the week of the 11th-15th because I thought someone would be coming. I did previously ask the company why things were taking so long, but no one answered me. Next week, I call the main office on Monday, the 18th, since they are the only people answering the phones. They said they had absolutely no idea they old boiler had not been removed (even though it was part of our contract) and that there were still parts in our basement. This is not the first time they claimed to be unaware of problems. They told me I could have someone come out, so I asked for someone to come Wednesday. My husband stayed home, working from home, since we didn't know who would come. NO ONE SHOWED UP. NO ONE CALLED. I am so completely frustrated dealing with the complete unprofessionalism of this company. I think they only care about getting new business as fast as possible, but not how it is accomplished or following up with problems. My new boiler system, which is supposed to be maintenance free, is anything but. That problematic nut that the worker tightened on my kitchen radiator? Yeah, now it leaks from the nut. We applied flux to seal it, but now the radiator gets NO HEAT and my kitchen is cold. None of these guys actually inspected any of our radiators to ensure things were working properly, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Also, sometimes our boiler is low on water, even though we have an automatic water feeder installed, so sometimes we have to add water in order to get heat, which they promised us would not happen. Also, we have 4 times had to fiddle with the boiler because it stops heating the house. Usually, we have to switch off the main power switch to reset it, which they also assured us we would not have to do. This system is supposed to be top of the line, maintenance and fuss free. Yeah, right. It has now been a couple of weeks since the installation was finally "finished", and the problems are getting worse. We were initially just going to let things slide, since we did actually get a new boiler, but your house should be 70, if that's where you set the thermostat (also new, and installed by them), not 61 or 62! I'm going to try to call them again, but I don't put much stock in getting any help. I have never, ever dealt with such a shady and unprofessional company. Also, I have never had such lengthy disruption to our home over an installation of anything. The brand new gas water heater only took 2 hours! I don't know what else to do. All their reviews were great, everyone loved them, but I'm starting to think that the reviews were rigged.

Pat was amazing! He was super helpful and cooperative. He sent us photos of the work being done and he didn't require us to be home from work while he installed. He gave us a quote and came by the house to meet me and then again to meet my husband because he had questions. He gave us advice on what was best for us and our house, and not what was the most expensive. He also said he'd Facetime with us and show us how to work all the valves and what everything does since we get home late. After this experience, I definitely plan to hire Pat again if we ever need anything done. And will definitely be recommending him to everyone!

They came and "finished" on time. Unfortunately, they inadvertently damaged a critical part, so the actual finish was delayed for two days. (They were chagrined and offered to provide window units, but most of our windows are smaller than their units, and they didn't have portable units, so we suffered.) The installers otherwise did a nice job. Also unfortunately, the weather turned chilly, so we haven't had a chance to give the ac a workout, so we can't comment on the functional quality. (It does operate, but the day's weather wasn't stressful.) We did get a number of discounts/rebates and payment terms on this middle-of-the-line unit, so we consider the overall financials fine.

Mr. Dunsmore was on time, reasonably prices and very upfront about what COULD be done and what, in his opinion SHOULD be done, even tho' he could have made more by just telling me the COULD. He went over an above in 1) investigating the issue and 2) proposing a possible solution, along with the full disclosure of its (very low) likelihood of actually fixing the problem and the expected cost. I would have provided a review sooner had I known he was on Angie's list. I just happened to come across his listing when looking for something related.

Scheduled and pre-paid for service on 2 AC units. Took 3+ months to get an appt. on the books due to high demand. At time of booking I explained to the scheduler that we were selling the house and the new owner would have possession at the time of appointment. The scheduler did not raise any concerns. Appt. window was this morning from 8-12am. Horizon called my spouse (not me who had made the appt.) and my spouse said we no longer lived there). I called back 2 minutes later to 302-256-8575 and explained we no longer lived there, had prepaid and the new owner was waiting for them. Never heard back but really did not expect a return call as I assumed the service paid for and scheduled would be completed. At the end of the day the new owner called me and said they never called or showed up. Called Horizon and complained. Matthew apologized and went on to say they would have to get permission from the new owner. So after waiting months for an appointment I am now told something different than when I scheduled the appointment months ago. Matthew could not provide an answer as to why the tech never called me back today. Lousy service. We have used Horizon 4 times: 2 times including today were not positive. The first time we booked an appointment for them to do an estimate for an ac/heater and they no showed. Earlier this year we used them for heater service and they showed and were great including finding a gas leak that had not likely been there quite a while. Batting 2 out of 4 for a good experience has resulted in this poor rating. Very disappointed in an unreliable experience.

The last thing we needed with a five month old baby and another April snowstorm, was a dead furnace. Todd came out and got us back and running to get us through the storm and then came out to replace the unit (our decision, after looking at the options) with his crew, providing us with a variety of plans to fit our needs. They showed up on time, and were courteous and professional throughout. Three weeks later, when a completely different and unrelated contractor tripped a few breakers and blew out a fuse in the unit, Todd had us back and running within an hour. Excellent service. Highly recommend.

Beyond expectations. Completed the job ahead of schedule at the quoted price. Pat not only did a fantastic job, but also has integrity and is honest. He was left unattended in my home for two full days and there were no causes for concearn. Not only does the finished product look great, I gained some floor space. He was very accommodating to my requests and a please to work with. I recommend his team without hesitation.

We had a frozen pipe/burst issue because of the inclement weather. I called Bruce and he returned my call back and looking at the urgency of the situation, he told me that someone from his team would be at our place soon. Ryan and Taylor showed up soon and started working right away. They worked for almost 10 straight hours until 1 am finding out and fixing every leak in the water pipe and hot water pipes in the baseboard heater. I can confidently say that they were highly knowledgeable and skillful with lots of experience as they kept referring to some of their past works. We felt really bad for them as more and more leaks kept popping up and it was already too late. However, they were determined to at least get us our heat back before they left for the night which they accomplished. I highly appreciate their work ethics and would definitely hire them again for any future issues.

He came out the day as promised, communicated very well, showed me tips on how to do some things to avoid unnecessary costs and was upbeat the whole time. These guys are awesome! What you see and expect is what you get. No games or disappointment.

My heater stopped working. I called another reputable company out and the tech wanted to sell me a whole new system. I wanted a second opinion. I called PSD and Pat was here in a few hours and diagnosed the problem. He explained it was only the blower motor. It was up and running in less than 2 hours. He is very courteous and conscientious of other peoples property. He treats it like it was his own home. Will definately use him for service from now on.
