    Upon my call to Mike to inquire and schedule an appointment, I knew this was the right company for us. Mike was punctual on his initial visit to assess our needs and describe the product and service. We were immediately impressed with his experience and professionalism. He was also punctual on day of installation, with no "uh-oh's" during installation that we often encounter with other installers or contractors. .He walked us through each step of loading apps, and getting logged in. Mike finished up with an easy to understand demonstration of using the system.  He left us confident that we would easily learn how to use this system. We would highly recommend.

    Mike was great. I called him on Monday and we scheduled an appointment for Wednesday morning. He came in and assessed the layout of my home. He did not try to up sell or anything like that. He advised on what would work best for my home. The install took about an hour or so. Then he went over everything regarding the alarms operation and all the what if questions I had. It's been just a day and I really do sleep better at night knowing not only do I have a home security system but also how to use it.

    The installer showed up on time and started work right away.  The installer was polite and professional and understood his work very well.  After discussing the doors and window that should be linked to the alarm, he provided advice on where the key pad should be located.  The installer also set up and explained the system to me as well.  
    I docked quality, slightly, on account of the original placement of the pin pad.  The installer put it in a spot that prevented a door in my living room from fully opening.  I pointed this out to him, and the installer was kind enough to move it about 6 inches to fix the problem.  Moving left some extra drill holes in my living room wall, but that's fine as we're repainting soon.

    One of the most responsive contractors! Came out right away to conduct appraisal and sent proposal within a few days. Completed work was within budget stated. Dan Renn from the sales office was a pleasure to work with, very knowledgeable, helpful, professional and very responsive. Other office staff members were also very friendly, helpful when we phoned the office.

    The camera system was installed in the timeframe outlined (2 days). Installers were friendly, very neat focused, hard-working and most important, they were very competent. When we called to have one small thing changed, they came out within the week. The cameras have been working great over the last three months and the equipment they use seems to be of very good quality.

    The price was very fair relative to other estimates we received. There were 2 estimates that were much higher for comparable scope of work. Overall we are very pleased!

    The assessment portion of the service done by the service representative went very well.  The follow up by the service representative was not as prompt as it should have been.  I had to contact the service representative about 2 - 3 times before the representative got back to me about 1 and half later.  The representative was apologetic and more responsive from that point going forward.

    The security system work just fine, and the provider has been very responsive to addressing our questions and needs.  For example, something had malfunctioned with the security system control panel.  I called and described the problem to them and they were able to address the problem remotely by  taping directly into the system.  A repair person came about 2 days later and replaced the faulty component.

    The salesman came out and described all the services and the types of equipment. They provide protection against fire, theft and medical emergencies. When we moved in all the equiptment was in place. One morning my wife got up ahead of me and opened the door without turning off the alarm. The security company can speak to us over speakers in our house. We were able to turn it off easily. That was an instance we were shown if we need help they were there.

    Bought the self-installation kit from Frontpoint. Installation and the diagnostics went very well. The system has performed as expected over the last year. I would certainly recommend this to anyone looking for a security system and over that of competitors like ADT.
    Whenever we have had alarms (e.g. accidentally burned a tortilla in the toaster oven) the response has been very prompt and good from the company.

    Everything works fine, the alarm arrived quickly and ready to be installed. Before shipping me the equipment, a technician had me talk through all of the sensors I needed, and they named them and set up the order on the phone. They let me trade a sensor in the package for its official cost and get a different sensor instead. I ended up needing a lot more door/window sensors than included in the package, so the cost ended up being considerably higher.
    Once the box arrived, all I needed to do was peel off some double-stick-tape backing off each sensor and stick it in the appropriate spot. They numbered each sensor and had a list of where they belonged. Once I turned the alarm panel on, it had all the names we discussed on the phone preprogrammed.
    Note that if you opt for self installation, they won't give you very detailed instructions on wall mounting the panel, but will instead assume you want to use it on a table (kind of like a land line telephone). I was a little annoyed at this but figured out how to wall anchor it on my own. Note that there's an antenna with a long cable on it that is supposed to be secured inside the wall, and the panel will not wall mount successfully unless you get the cable out of the way-- so if you're not comfortable drilling a 1/2" hole in your wall, skip the wall mount.
    The main reason this review is a B and not an A is that Security One's customer service and activation/tech support folks are very hard to get ahold of. The alarm monitoring is through another company, and that part works great-- so once your system is set there shouldn't be major issues. Getting activated may be a different issue. When I called to activate, and a few times I called afterwards with questions and simple requests that I needed a technician for (I needed to move a sensor from one place to another, and wanted to rename it, etc.), customer service was completely overwhelmed with calls. Someone answered the phone and got the details of what I needed, and then they had a technician call me back when they were available. A couple of times, they said the wait would be around 10 minutes initially, but it actually took hours until someone was available. This was during a weekday in the middle of the day.
    A secondary reason this doesn't deserve an A rating is that some of the equipment is a little finnicky. I've discovered that the local cell tower is broadcasting the wrong clock time, and so every 18 hours my alarm panel contacts the tower and resets my clock about an hour and a half slow. When this happens, all of the thermostat schedules I set on alarm.com stop working properly. I've tried resolving this issue via the alarm.com support request form, but no one from the security company has followed up after several days. Time to call in and wait an hour or two for them to call back, I guess. They say that their motion detectors are pet friendly, but lo and behold the first day we armed the system, our cats managed to trigger our basement detector-- the sensor is placed high on the wall, and they're small cats. So, I moved that sensor to an area the cats will never go, but had to give up some coverage in the process.
    In all the system is working well, the feature set is very high value for the price, and I have a system that does almost everything claimed (and some of the work getting my issues resolved is on me, so far the service has taken care of every problem I have had).

    Our service call today went great.  Art provides excellent customer service, follows up on every email and phone request and is an expert in the field.  I have been a customer of Shield for several years, dating back to my time in Atlanta, Georgia.  I was so impressed with their service in Atlanta that I contacted Art once we purchased a home in the Philadelphia area.  He has taken excellent care of my family and is always available to answer any and all questions.  We are confident the Shield team is always looking out for us as well 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  If our alarm goes off, we immediately receive a phone call from the Shield team.  I sleep well at night knowing our home is protected with Shield Security Systems of Lehigh Valley.  I also know our home is being protected when I am home during the day or when we are away.  I would not use any other company for our security needs.  I would highly recommend Shield to all Angie's list customers.

    I liked the idea behind the wireless security system, ie. obviously no wires, but also the ability to move the equipment anywhere and no need to arrange for a technician to come in.
    The equipment arrived very quickly. I did the installation and (except for some adjustments I had to make to my old house) that was very simple.
    As I had never had a security system, I was a little anxious, but the sales and tech reps I spoke to were all very professional and extremely helpful. I have since purchased some additional equipment and that has been just as easy.
    In my ratings, I checked N/A because I know I paid much less than usual because of the Big Deal. I don't really know prices from similar providers. The cost I listed above is the equipment charge. It does not include the monthly monitoring fee.
