SL Contractors was one of the companies who we contacted when we bought a house and decided to remodel the kitchen (which was as old as the house, about 100 years old). We chose Willis because he was full of good ideas and suggestions, and we felt very confident hiring him and his team. The renovation took a bit longer than we expected, but we didn't want to rush seeing how professionally and diligently the job was done. Now we have a beautiful kitchen, a new gorgeous fireplace (that changed the look of our living room), a laundry on the second floor, and a freshly painted house. It looks like new now. Willis also helped us with many smaller things and we are very grateful for that! We will definitely contact him again if we plan another big project.

The project was not without some 'hiccups' but with a project the scale of ours it is to be somewhat expected. Any issue that came up was quickly rectified by Ron. Our expectations were extremely high and Ron (and Sean) seemed to generously go above and beyond to 'get it done right!' We couldn't be more happy with our new floors!!

We are very pleased with our new bathroom! Rick was great to work with - reliable, responsive to phone calls, and hard-working. We are happy with the end result as well as the remodeling process. We would definitely recommend Doverspike Kitchens to our family and friends!

Moved all furniture. Sanded off old finish and stain on 3 rooms, 14 steps, (which had to be done by hand) and 2 landings areas. Then stained all areas. The landings were made of a different type of wood which required a different type of finish so the rooms and stairs were finished and then a few days later the landings were finished. The family never had to leave during the process. Just had to wait 4-5 hours during the day before walking on finished areas.

Boyd Doverspike was very knowledgeable and made recommendations for the new kitchen.  His design provided us with more counter space and cabinet space.  He understood that I only had a small area and needed to get the most from this project. Rick Doverspike Sr. and Rick Doverspike Jr. explained daily what was being done and ask if we had any questions.  They were professional and very neat.  They removed the old cabinets, started building the bulk head and getting the wall ready to be plastered. The walls were very ruff plaster and they suggested a skim coat of plaster to make them smooth.  All electrical and plumbing work was completed when the floor was removed and before the new skim coat of plaster was applied.  The cabinets, countertops, and flooring were top quality material.  Boyd brought to my attention that the hardware for the cabinets I had chosen was not going to be a good fit for me.  I am short and have a problem with the knobs catching on the pockets of my pants and clothes.  He helped me select a better hardware that would not cause this problem for me.  I was very thankful for his advise about this matter.  Boyd and Rick also suggest a different backsplash that I had original wanted. It worked out to make my kitchen look more elegant and is much easier for me to keep clean since I use my kitchen daily.   I would definitely recommend Doverspike Kitchen and Bath for your next home improvement project.

We were given a total estimate of $8900 for three jobs by owner Jason Lapay.  The first job was to demo and remodel a shower stall for $1800, the second was to build a bulkhead and finish some drywall in our game room for $600, the third was to demo and remodel a full bath for $6500.  Jason needed one third of the money up front, another third halfway through, and the final third when finished.  We were told the work would take about three weeks, and that the shower stall would be done in a couple days. We payed the first third, $3000, on 1/9/16 after our estimate review.  At this time Jason told us to go to Pro Source and choose tile.  He also told us that he usually uses 12x24" tile, but we can choose what we like.
On 1/16/16 we made it to Pro Source and easily found tile we like for both baths.  The salesman there told us it would take about a week to get the tile, and that we should let our contractor know right away.  We figured that's not a problem because they could work on the game room, or we just use the shower at my parents house while they demo the other bathroom.
Day 1.  Monday 1/18/16.  Mike (of J & B Remodeling) showed up that morning and began demo on the shower.  I told him that we need to let Jason know that the tile needs ordered right away.
Day 2.  Tuesday 1/19.  Mike showed up again and continued work on the shower.  He could only work a couple of hours because he came upon plumbing that Jason would have to address.  Mike informed me of the situation and called Jason to let him know.  At this time, I also spoke to Jason and reminded him about the tile, explaining that Pro Source had all of our information and knew that he was our contractor.  He said that he would get it ordered.
Day 3.  Wednesday 1/20. No show.  I called the office and left a voicemail.
Day 4.  Thursday 1/21. No show.
Day 5.  Friday 1/22. No show. I call Jason in the morning.  He says he will be there Monday, and that he ordered the tile from Pro Source, and will take 7-10 days.
Day 6.  Monday 1/25/16.  No show.  I call him in the afternoon, he tells me that he texted me and that the tile will be too expensive and that he'll bring samples of what fits our budget.  The tile we chose  averaged about $4.00/sq ft for the two baths.
Day 7.  Tuesday 1/26. No show.
Day 8.  Wednesday 1/27.  I call at 9:45am since no one has arrived yet.  Jason calls at 9:55 and says he is on his way.  He arrives with his son, and tells me that its take your child to work day.  I found that strange since national "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day" is April 28th this year.  He brings samples and works on plumbing. I tell him that we would like to see samples closer to what we had picked out. And tells me that he will drop some off.  I also expressed some disappointment with the "no shows", and he insisted that he texted me on Monday.  He showed me a text on his phone from 12/31/15.  Even after I pointed out the date and explained that it was from the day of the estimate, he insisted.   He then showed me a text to my number with the wrong area code.   At this point, I'm growing concerned about who we hired.  And a quick Google search reveals that J & B Remodeling has a grade of F with the BBB.  I also discover that an article on Angie's List that Jason told us he wrote on change orders, was actually written by Michael Schroeder.  Jason simply had an eight word quote.  https://www.angieslist.com/articles/change-orders-fix-construction-curveballs.htm
Day 9.  Thursday 1/28.  Terry shows up and works on the shower drywall and base.
Day 10.  Friday 1/29.  Terry shows up and works on the shower drywall and base.
Day 11.  Monday 2/1.  Traded texts and phone calls with Jason about tile.  Finally settled on tile from Home Depot.
Day 12.  Tuesday 2/2.  Jason texts me. Telling me tile will be in Thursday and they will start tiling then. I remind him that the game room can begin anytime, and he says that will start then as well.
Day 13. Wednesday 2/3.  No work done.
Day 14. Thursday 2/4. Terry shows and begins tiling shower.  Mike and Brian show and do the roughwork on the bulkhead in the game room.  It also appears that some other work was done based on the dust.
Day 15. Friday 2/5.  Terry finishes tile. Still has to do grout. No other work is done.  On this night, my wife and I discuss the quality of the tile work.  Grout joints are uneven. Some tiles are not square. Tile surfaces are uneven. Several of the 2x2" tiles on the floor are loose.  At several places, thin set is coming up through the grout joints to the tile surface. Dabs of thin set have gotten on the floor and toilet seat.  I also discover that left over mortar from the shower floor was dumped behind my grill on the back porch. Small pieces of tiles are scattered through the p-gravel around our porch. No wiring or other work is done for the exhaust fan.
Sunday 2/7.  We call Jason and discuss these issues.  We send him pictures as requested.  He says that Terry can fix all of these.  I tell him that I want him to come look at the work before anyone comes into my house to do work.
Monday 2/8.  Jason looks at the work and says they can take the tile down and Terry will re-do it to our liking. He states that they knew the walls were bowed. I asked why they didn't fix them when they were torn down to the studs. He said that wall is shared with the other bathroom. I told him my wife and I will discuss it and give him a call.  He says to let him know by the end of the day.  At 4:34pm, I call him with the following offer:  "We've made a deposit of $3000.  Take the tile down and repair the shower to where its ready for tile. We will pay the full $1800.  Finish the work in the game room. We will pay the full $600.  Then refund the remaining $600 to us."  He stated that we will not get any money back because we cost him work time.  We told him to let us know what he is going to do to make it right.  He said that he has to talk to a couple people, and that he will get back to us.
We haven't had any communication from him since.  I've called Jason several times over the next two weeks, leaving voicemails each time.

My mother & father (senior citizens) bought a ranch home to move into.  A family friend had used Johnson Floors recently, and her floor looked fantastic.  We also researched companys, including Johnson Floors, on Angies List and we got 3 estimates before we chose Johnson Floors to do the work.  Robert Johnson returned my original phone call the same day, and he came to give me an estimate within the same week.  Originally, we did not plan on refinishing the kitchen floor, and Robert's original estimate did not include the kitchen floor.  Once we pulled up the old vinyl flooring in the kitchen, we saw the potential of refinishing the original maple floors in the kitchen instead of tiling the kitchen floor.  I contacted Robert, and he came back to look at the kitchen floor for us.  Robert gave us a great deal on adding the kitchen floor to our job, and he was able to accommadate our work schedule.  Robert had his crew come and refinish the kitchen floor first in June 2015 so that the new kitchen cabinets could be installed.  Then they came back in July 2015 to refinish all of the other floors in the house after all the other construction was done, and right before my parents wanted to move into the house.  I am very satisified with the communication from Robert throughout the whole process, and his ability to work with us and our schedule.  His crew was on time, the worked hard & professionally everyday, and the floors look amazing.  The kitchen floor is maple & the rest of the floors are oak.  There was a little dust from the sanding, but the clean-up was minimal.  My parents have gotten multiple complements about their hardwood floors.
I wouldn't consider using anyone else in the future for hardwood floors.  Johnson Floors was reasonablly priced, they came on time, crew was professional, job was done on time, great communication, and the floors look amazing!!!

I was very pleased with the work SL Contractors performed at my home. They completely remodeled my Kitchen and Bathroom.  They were running a special on Kitchens and Bathrooms, 25% off if I had them both done at the same time.  So I took advantage of the savings, which was a considerable amount.  I was not really sure how I wanted my kitchen to look. They had a designer go over many options as far as products, materials and floor plans. The designer drew a complete interactive blueprint just like on HGTV.  Complete with colors, cabinets, flooring, window treatment, the whole complete kitchen.  I was able to really get a good idea of what my finished kitchen would look like.  They completed the job on time just as it looked in the blueprint.  They took great care not damage or dirty the rest of my home.

?My adorable bathroom?.  The completed job is breathtaking.  They removed a wall to enlarge the room, to change my three piece bathroom to a four piece.  We had no tub.  They installed a walk-in shower with tile surround and floor to ceiling custom glass doors.  They also installed a soaker tub.  They included all the plumbing and electrical work too.  I feel that the price that I was charged is more than fair for the amount of work they had to do to give me the beautiful kitchen and bathroom.

I had old carpet lifted and the hardwood floors underneath refinished.  I wanted to have area rugs in the living room and dining room and  a carpet runner on the staircase.  Molyneaux  was  very prompt in coming to my home to measure the area and talk over the options for the area.  Once the measurements were taken the salesman suggested I go to the showroom to choose carpet.  When I went to the showroom  I found two different carpets and was pleased with the designs that the salesman showed me.  I was told it would take 3 months for the carpets to come in, this would give me plenty of time to have the floors refinished.  Once the floors were refinished  I realized  that the size of the living room area rug the salesman sold me was way too large!  I called him and he wasn't very helpful, told me that if I changed the size there would be a restocking fee, and that the carpet was already there.  I had no problem with the restocking fee,  he didn't know how much it would be and he just didn't give me any options.  I wrote an email to the main office and it wasn't until then that the salesman called me back and offered to help.  Told me that the restocking fee would be $160.  Fine... even at that I was happy.  He said it would probably take 3 weeks for the new carpet to come in. After the three week period I hadn't heard from Molyneaux.   I waited a little longer and called and left a message on the salesman's voice mail and sent him an email.  He emailed me back stating that the carpets were in and that he has scheduled an installation date for me.  He said the phone number he had for me no longer was good????  Well the numbers were transposed... I told him well look at the original invoice my phone number is on it plain as day!  He told me he didn't have the original invoice!!  How could he NOT have the original invoice???  And there is such a thing  as the White Pages look up on the internet after all!!!  This salesman was always apologizing about something!
Finally the carpets were delivered and installed.  The installation crew was very nice, very prompt and professional.  There was a problem with the stair installation ...again because of miscommunication with the salesman.  I wasn't happy with the angling of the carpet on the stair landing.  It was my own fault that I didn't keep a closer eye on them when they installed it , I didn't notice the problem until I was cleaning the area after they left...  I called right away and they immediately returned.  The installer said there was nothing he could do, as it was even laid out that way on the original measurements.  He was very nice and apologetic .
My experience with Molyneaux left me lukewarm at best.  I probably won't used them when  replacing  bedroom carpeting...if I do I certainly will go to one of the other branch stores and get a different salesman.
