Business Description: We are the "Energy Conservation Specialists." Proudly serving the Greater Pittsburgh area since 1977. Mincin Insulation is the trusted name in providing affordable comfort, along with superior service, to Pittsburgh residents. We have been busy keeping Pitts-burgers warm, while also lowering your utility bills for over 35 years. For decades now, Mincin Insulation has also been a trusted partner by many of the local utility companies as their choice insulation company to service their Low Income Weatherization Programs. Mincin Insulation uses cellulose insulation, which is a superior insulation produced by nature. All-natural wood fibers within the product provide your home with maximum "R-value" protection against high energy costs and cold, drafty walls. GREEN, made from recycled newspapers, is treated for pest control and is fire retardant. Cellulose insulation when installed properly makes a great insulator. We dense pack it in the walls and open blow it in attics. By dense packing in walls, there is no air flow unlike fiberglass products. Cellulose also makes a great sound deaden-er on interior walls. Insulating your home's walls and attic with cellulose will reduce your winter heating bills and summer cooling costs. Cellulose is one of the few products you can install in your home that will actually pay for itself! We employ Building Performance Institute "BPI" certified individuals and are also members of the well-regarded Insulation Contractors Association of America "ICAA" trade association. Business Description: We believe that your basement has potential. With our help we can help solve your problem so it can be transformed into the place you desire. We challenge the status quo by understanding what you want your basement to become and engineer our system to protect that dream. By fully appreciating your vision, we can tailor a comprehensive solution, using quality products and methods, installed by quality people, to solve your foundation problem and allow you the liberty to create whatever vision you have for the space. We believe in your dream. The Keystone Basement Systems Inspection Process: The below information publicly and clearly states the terms to qualify for the inspection process. We understand that our process may be different than what people are used to. With that in mind we wanted to make sure that all of our potential clients fully understood the motivations and reasons behind our process. The Philosophy: Keystone Basement Systems (KBS) subscribes to a completely different inspection philosophy than most in the marketplace. Whereas most companies use commission-based salespeople with little training in foundation systems or foundation diagnostics, KBS employs highly trained inspectors who have achieved Basement Health Association Accreditations in Basement Waterproofing and Foundation Repair. Our philosophy is that inspectors who are well trained in their field should perform inspections. The philosophy seems simple, but operating in this way comes with tremendous challenges, as you will see explained below. The Inspection Process: One of the most fundamental differences between KBS and other companies is the inspection process. It is our core belief is that you must fully understand a problem before you can create an accurate solution. The challenge is that this process takes a little more time. On average our inspection process takes 25% to 50% longer than other companies. The benefit of a thorough evaluation is that you provide accurate and detailed solutions. The downside to this level of attention and detail is that we have less appointment times per day available. Our Inspectors: At KBS we invest tremendous time and resources into our inspectors. Our inspectors have monthly continuing education requirements as well as formal training on a myriad of repair products and processes. KBS is the only company in western PA with Certified Waterproofing Specialists (CWS) and Certified Structural Repair Specialists (CSRS) on staff. Unlike other companies who hire untrained "salespeople" when they get busy, we do not. KBS will only allow trained inspectors to meet with homeowners. Therefore we have fewer inspectors than other companies. Scheduling: As you can see, KBS is not a large firm with an army of under-skilled salespeople. Rather KBS is a smaller firm with a core of very well trained inspectors. Consequently we only have time to visit with serious clients and refuse approximately 30% of those who inquire for an inspection because they do not meet our scheduling requirements. Our Scheduling Requirements: 1. You must own the property you wish to have inspected: If you do not own the property in question we will not schedule an appointment with you. We do not meet with tenants, real estate agents or property speculators. If you are a buyer of a property you must have the seller contacts and schedule the appointment. 2. All interested parties must make themselves available for the inspection: Serious homeowners would always make themselves available for the inspection because they are interested in what the inspector has to say. Your time is valuable, and so is ours. To offer the level of expertise that we do, at no cost, we only schedule appointments with serious homeowners who are interested in solutions for their issue. Our inspectors cover a great deal of detailed information and will need to ask questions about the history of the problem and future plans for the home. Therefore we will only meet with serious homeowners willing to have all interested parties available for the appointment. With that said, we understand that people are busy these days. To allow for all interested parties to be available we offer appointments 7 days a week from 10AM to 10PM...Even on Sundays. 3. The problem must be a basement waterproofing or foundation issue: We ONLY fix foundation issue and nothing else. In closing, we hope that you consider KBS for your foundation inspection. ***Please note that Keystone does not set inspections with those who do not own the property wishing to be inspected. This includes, but is not limited to, property speculators, tenants and real estate agents***

FI have been using JR for sometime and until recently, although much of the wood was junk and there were many pieces that were entirely too big...the price was right. I received a cord of wood about a month ago that was mixed with asphalt, wasting much of the wood and making clean up ridiculous! JR said "Sorry and that he would sweeten the next load". The sweetness of the load was not reflected in the price, was not a FULL cord and much of the wood was unseasoned. After being a loyal customer for some time, I will not be using JR again. EXTREMEMLY disappointed!- Sherry C.

AEd and Dave were wonderful. Had a good deal of knowledge and expertise and exceeded our expectations. In addition, Rick was very aware that given the nature our problem, he was willing to work with us to resolve our water problem.- Monica F.

AWe called Fisher Masonry for a quote to tear down the old crumbling chimney on our house and re-build it. They explained the entire process to us and then gave us a reasonable quote, so we asked them to do the job. They arrived at our house promptly at an agreed-on time, covered the area where they would be working, set up scaffolding and had the old chimney torn down and a new chimney built in its place within several hours. After the job was finished, they cleaned the area up and showed us the new work. We were very impressed with the quality of work they performed and would highly recommend Fisher Masonry to anyone - they did an outstanding job for us.- Rebecca H.

DThe person picked up and said "If you don't F#$# talk, I know you're a sales person. I for sure don't know anyone in CT." Then they continued to talk to others around them, swearing and not acknowledging me on the other end of the phone. Very unprofessional. I hung up. I won't be calling them again.- Sarah L.

AWork was excellent. Felt bad for the man doing the brick replacements, should have just taken it down and started all over for how many bricks needed replaced! (20+) Was very surprised on how fast the job got done. Explained everything and gave us options.- amy D.

AWe've used Ron for two jobs now and both times have been fantastic. He was quick to set up an appointment to give us a free estimate and both times was able to get us on his schedule in a reasonable time. The first time we had Ron out was to rebuild and cap 3 chimneys on our house as well as repoint them. The total cost of this job was $2800. The previous owner had not maintained the chimneys and had improperly sealed them causing them to leak and become rather unsightly. Ron and his team came out over 2.5 days and rebuilt parts of the chimney that needed it, installed chimney liners in the active flues and properly capped/vented the non-functional ones. The second job we had Ron do was various repointing and brick replacement. There were a few spots around our house where a previous downspout had been where the mortar was worn away and where various bricks were chipped and/or missing in archways above the windows. This job was $1000. As with before Ron and his team came out, fixed everything up perfectly, and left the place as if they had never been there. In the time since the work we have had no issues with leaks or drafts like we had before and we have received numerous compliments on how great the chimneys and pointing work looks, from both neighbors and contractors we've had over.- Kyle H.

AAfter hearing that Angie’s list was free I logged in and found several local Masonry Companies. I called Sabol Masonry Inc. and scheduled a meeting with Paul Sabol that weekend who called me the day of the appointment and showed up on time! Two things that hadn’t happened in two years of calling Masonry Companies! Two weeks later Linda called and said there was an opening and they could start in a couple of days which was great for us. While making the repairs they found that the chimney was worse than originally expected, that the chimney liner was deteriorating and mortar crown was cracking and the mortar was cracking out from the brick on the back side of the chimney. Sabol Masonry did a great job the chimney after repairs was a work of art, they were very good at matching the mortar color, the cost was very fair the clean-up was great and there was plenty of dust but that washed off with water. We are really happy with the work they did so happy that I plan to have Sabol Masonry Inc. return next year to replace the lintel over the garage door.- Chandler D.

AI have posted here twice. My initial review was very positive. The work was prompt and clean. There was a callback issue that prompted my revised review. I called Morow's landline as I had misplaced his mobile number. Morow did not receive my message so I modified my review. Immediately thereafter Morow contacted me to arrange for the completion of the work. His crew came right out and dealt with my one punch list item. In addition, they noticed an issue with the flashing on one chimney that would allow water into the house and repaired it immediately and would not take a payment for the extra work. I will call Morow again. I will recommend Morow to anyone needing masonry repair work. This business is top knotch!- Philip M.

DWhen I turned my fireplace back on the tempered glass exploded. The fireplace now has an odor. It was a struggle, a three month ordeal. After the glass broke they took the door down to another company in town for repair; that cost me an additional $40. I've already told friends and family to stay away from this company. This is not the kind of people I want to do business with. First two young men came out but they had problems. They didn't have cleaning supplies. I had to install door back onto the fireplace. We had to stay on top of them to get results. Never got a call from the owner to apologize or ask how things went.- TOM J.
