    P & W Construction Inc.
We are modifying a pole building that was on the property we purchased to be a horse barn.  Doing the work ourselves, we encountered a planning issue that required modifying the spacing of the posts in the existing structure.  We had some ideas of methods, but we wanted an outsider opinion from someone with more expertise.  I actually contacted a structural engineering company first, but they said they don't have good experiences with pole buildings and recommended I contact a contractor who has expertise in pole buildings.
I called P&W Construction and left a message on 11/18/13.  My call was returned late afternoon 11/19/13.  The guy listened to my description of our issue, asked questions in order to make sure he fully understood, and was able to make a recommendation over the phone.  His recommendation agreed with the plan we had already devised, so we feel more confident continuing with the alteration.
It was only a 15 minute phone call, and we were not asking him to sign off on the structural stability of the building.  It was simply advice, and sometimes that is hard to come by with companies without them wanting to charge.  I was even wondering if anyone would return my call considering my somewhat odd request for advice and therefore there probably wouldn't be much chance of them making money off of me.  My brief encounter with this company would prompt me to return to them for any future project estimates we needed.

This was by far our worst experience with a contractor. The demo portion of the job started off fine, but things went downhill after that. Even at the framing stage there was a lack of professionalism and quality of work. Days would go by and he would not show up to work at all. Several walls were built crooked & a door frame was installed with inadequate structural support. We frequently went over details of the job to be sure we would get it done the way we wanted but it was often ignored. A door providing furnace service access was to be moved and in order to make it fit he simply cut all the length off the bottom of the door. This left us with the bottom hinge resting on the floor and the handle is at the proper height for a small child.
Contractor initially dismissed the need for HVAC cold air returns but after I insisted several times he did agree to install them. It wasn't until after we terminated him that I learned he had installed the register boxes only, and never connected them to the main trunk in the ceiling (This required the removal of several finished sheets of drywall for me to correct at this point).
Several times during the drywall hanging portion, the contractor cut through electrical wiring in the walls which I had to re-run. In the bathroom he did actually install the hvac ducting correctly, but then drywalled over the entire register box and never cut out the opening. My wife was actually told not worry about the drywall screw heads that were not driven below the drywall surface (there were a lot) as he would "pound them in with a hammer" before he applied mud.
Drywall finishing process was a nightmare. I have done numerous projects around my home involving drywall finishing and my results were much better than his. There were days after days of sanding, and the results were still the same. The majority of screws were all visible and the joints were recessed in significantly when he was "finished." There was numerous places were finishing tape and or mesh tape was clearly visible. Then before we were able to point any of this out to him, he quickly painted over his work.
Also at this time he began installing flooring tile in the laundry room area. This floor was to be prepped with leveler to correct a pre-existing problem. However, the leveler was not installed correctly so now the floor slopes in the opposite direction. Several square of floor tiles were installed, most with excess thinset smeared on the sides and tops of the tiles. I recently pried up a tile that was moving to discover that only about 25% of the tile actually had contact with thinset on the floor.
After all of these problems we decided to end his work at our home, project incomplete.  I was forced to bring in another drywall contractor to repair those mistakes and spent roughly $1000.00 in this area alone. Further repair work is ongoing.
The bottom line here is this contractor is not qualified to do work inside a home and I would not recommend him to anyone.
