    Diamond Construction & Remodeling Inc
We hired Diamond in the past to finish a basement for us and they did a wonderful job. Next to that basement was an ugly unfinished laundry room as well as an outdated bathroom. They created a small hallway separating the bathroom from the laundry room by installing a doorway between them. They finished them with new flooring, drywalling, unique plastering design and painted. All the finishing from the wall trim to the new lighting fit our needs perfectly. They installed a new vanity, toilet and new walk in shower unit along with some accessories of our choosing like the mirror, vanity lights and towel rack. We were kept informed the whole way of the process from start to finish. Any time we wanted to change/add/remove a detail, Rich and Doug were able to accommodate all of our needs. The Laundry room ceiling was sprayed black so that all the cables, pipes and wires were invisible. We really love the look of our now finished laundry & bathroom and would recommend them to anyone. The best part about their service is that they allow you to customize it to your needs whether you want them to pick something up for you or save a few dollars and get it yourself. They are very flexible with your schedule and I trust them 100%. I'm looking forward to future projects with them!

    Window Nation Inc
While we understand the benefits of cost-savings that come from a system like that which Window Nation has put in place to maximize sales (like requiring appointments be scheduled within 5 days, massive discounts for same day purchase, insisting both husband and wife/all homeowners be present, transitioning non-same-day customers to central sales), we prefer to deal with more personalized, customer-centered companies when it comes to our home projects. We were quite clear with our initial connection (an unsolicited door-to-door salesman) that we were not looking to purchase windows until next summer and were reassured that the quote would be good for a year (true, perhaps, but certainly mis-leading given the massive same-day only discount). I also communicated very clearly that we would definitely not be making any same day purchases since we always get several quotes for any of our home projects. I was clear that I was not available for an appointment for two weeks, but was required to go through a charade of rescheduling twice in order to procure an appointment that actually worked with my schedule on my initial desired date. On the day of our appointment, we were made to feel horrible for (1) "wasting" the time of the salesperson for a precious Saturday morning appointment if we weren't going to make a decision before he left our home, (2) that we had no option to buy windows from him the moment he left our house (forced to go to central sales), and (3) that his boss was going to be upset. We liked the windows and they clearly have capable sales people, but we don't appreciate the way they do business, so they won't get ours. If you do go with Window Nation, brace yourself for a HARD sell.

The experience was great from first contact to execution. Donnie was our salesman and he came with all the information we needed to select the right doors and options, price and plan it, and make a decision on the spot. The price wasn't the cheapest, but the result was worth it Energy Swing Windows only sells and installs ProVia doors, which are custom made and handcrafted in a modern factory located in Amish country in Northeast Ohio, so their craftsmanship is top notch. The doors arrived more quickly than Donnie estimated, and we had our new doors installed yesterday less than a month after ordering,. The installers were on time, did quality work, and were done (including cleaning up all the interior and exterior areas) in reasonable time for the quality work that they did. And the finished product looked better than the samples and the pictures! My first thought when I saw the doors from the outside was "these doors have already paid for themselves in resale value alone." And from the inside, the new doors let in light and showcase the entrance so well that it seems like a new house.

Chris and his crew exceeded our expectations. We could not have asked for a better overall experience. Communication was excellent and any changes or issues were discussed before proceeding. They were very professional, polite, and respectful of us and our home. I would not hesitate to use Sweet Success in the future and I highly recommend this contractor for any job that requires an expert preservationist who truly appreciates how important a person's home is. A+++++ job.

This was a wonderful experience. Melissa was very knowledgeable and honest when she came to look at our project. Bill and the installation crew were on time, thorough and cleaned up when completed. Both Melissa and Bill were easy to talk to and listened to all of our concerns and questions. The installation was in the spring of 2015 and since then I have noticed a difference in the energy efficiency in our room and enjoyed the great craftsmanship. I highly recommend this company and plan to use them again for additional work in the near future.

Over all, they did a great job - the workmen arrived on time, were polite, and did their job well.
That said, their main office apparently uses a paper based filing system (no computers), so many of our requests, calls, were lost in the shuffle.

    Rogo's Handyman Svc LLC

I called Mark after completing a thorough review of his website to understand all of the different types of work he performs, so that I would not be wasting his time.   I told him over the phone (and send him a list via email in advance) that I had an extension to-do list and that he could look at the work and let me know which part or all that he wanted to bid on.  The list included spot light replacements, gutter cleaning, light carpentry work, light roof repair, staining, painting and plaster repair...  In addition there was some tile repair and hot tub trim work that he did not seem interested in, and that was fine.  I also had an electrical outlet that needed replaced... he quoted me $ 85 and I declined...  (replaced it myself in about 5 minutes).  For everything else, probably about 2 or 3 days of work.

He came out and we walked through everything for about an hour.  He said he would clean the gutters and change the spotlights that day and that he would contact me within 2 days with an estimate for the other work.  He is a pleasant person and it was a nice visit.. I felt that he would be competent in the various work items that we had zeroed in on.

It's now been 2 weeks and I haven't heard a word from him... nothing.  It is frustrating to have a contractor come out, take your time and then not even the courtesy of a call.

I don't really want to hear from him now.

This was an amazing experience. My husband and I wanted to replace our bathroom since we moved into our townhouse. The bathroom was not very big - big enough for a shower stall, toilet and vanity. We received multiple quotes from different contractors, ranging from $13,000 to $22,000. We found the big deal bathroom remodel on Angie's List for $5,999 and figured we should give it a shot.
I was very hesitant since we had to pay the $6k up front. My husband and I never hired a contractor before and we have seen a million horror stories about never paying all the money up front, unfinished work, etc. I talked to Angie's List customer service and they said that they could provide a full refund up to 30 days and if it didn't work out after that we would get a full credit to another service on Angie's List. We decided to go ahead with the big deal due to the amazing price and figured if J&B was not responsive or we didn't get a good vibe from Jason then we could return it within 30 days.
I cannot even describe how happy we are with our purchase. The entire team at J&B were wonderful. Jason was so responsive and made us feel at ease with the money we just spent without having met them first. Jason came shortly after we bought the big deal to take a look at our bathroom to introduce himself and to take a look at the work. The dry wall removal and replacement and shower door were not covered under the big deal, hence the additional $1500 in cost.
Jason came over to show us tile samples. Other than that, we left it up to him and his team to figure out what would look best. It stressed me out too much trying to figure out what would match or look good. Jason promised me he would not put something in that would look terrible, and he kept his word.
All the guys that came in to do the work were great. They took care not to ding any walls and put down plastic for the carpet. They cleaned up every day, and made sure to block off the bathroom since we have a dog that was very interested in getting into the grout/etc.
Demo started and finished on Monday. The remainder of the week was spent on drywall and tiling. Jason kept in contact with me the entire time, checking to see if things were good and asking if we had any preference for paint/vanity color/etc. I called him a few times with "brilliant ideas" (giant medicine cabinet!) and he explained if something wouldn't work based on the size or how the bathroom was set up. The entire bathroom took 8 business days (Monday - Wednesday of the next week).
I am so pleased with the results. We've passed Jason's name on to a bunch of our friends and I'm hoping to convince my husband that our other bathroom needs work now!

    Michael F Whalen Contracting
I called Mike on Tuesday and he came out that Saturday to give us a bid.  He was very honest with his quote - gave us a ballpark figure and followed up with a quote via email.
He has been in constant contact and ask if they could install the sliding glass doors prior to the deck installation.  (we can't have the deck installed until the A/C unit is moved)  We agreed.
Mike's son and crew worked last Thursday and Friday, removing an existing window and installing a slider with vertical blinds built into the door.   The crew was extremely professional and did a fantastic job.  I am thrilled!
We are anxiously waiting for the deck to be built and if it goes as smoothly as the door I know I will love it.
