    Doggrell Painting
It is always a treat to have Doggrell Painting come here! We know that they will be friendly, quiet and orderly. And, that they will do The Best Work! We know that when they are done that there will be no paint drips or dirt. Everything will just look great...Very exciting actually! In addition, If they even think that they have found an issue while painting; they immediately stop and consult us. It is also so wonderful to find that the same individuals serve us every year! There are few businesses in our area with this type of quality and stability, indeed!

    Krain Construction LLC
I couldn't be happier with the work performed by Krain Construction. They were on time every day, extremely professional and very courteous. And I can't express how clean and tidy they were. When the job was complete, there wasn't one thing to clean up. I've used other contractors in the past and have had so much clean up, and there has always been a mess to clean up - but not with Krain! They were very clean and careful. Overall, I was very pleased with Krain Construction. Brian was upfront with all of the project details and cost. I have to say that if you are thinking of hiring Krain Construction, you won't be disappointed. Krain is a top notch company and I will most definitely hire them again.

    Caputo Construction
The house looks so much better with the new siding and roof! Very pleased with the quality and the work Greg Caputo and his crew performed. Greg maintained communication with me from the beginning to the completion of the projects. I am using his business again for interior renovations.

    Classic Deck Impressions
Paul Schmitt, the proprietor of Classic Deck Impressions, came in the Spring of 2015 and showed us samples of Trex, for which he was the authorized representative.  We decided on wood and Paul then sent us several computerized sketches showing various sizes and configurations of decks as attached to the house.  Paul also did all the interface with the Borough Inspectors. Upon learning that we did not have enough build-out space toward the side we had initially indicated, he redid the plans and resubmitted the sketches for our approval.  Paul did all the legwork with the Borough Inspectors, making sure that the plans for the deck provided that the brick wall of the house would not provide lateral support for the deck, as per Borough requirements.  Due to an unusually rainy season, Paul and his crew were not able to start until August 17, 2015.   However, he and his two-man crew stayed with the job until it was finished.  Paul and his crew were fine craftsman.   Additionally, they disposed of all the rotten timbers and building materials from the old deck, working steadily each day from 8:30 to 5:00. Each day they cleaned the area such that the area of construction was immaculate.
Under an additional contract,  Paul and his crew installed a new ceiling under the roof covering part of the deck as well as new house siding on the exterior portions of this roof.  Also, of interest, Paul knew that a cement contractor was coming after his crew to put down a cement pad under the deck and sidewalk leading from the deck.  Paul installed one the of 6x6 beams supporting the deck in such a fashion that the cement contractor could remove this support beam in order to get his crew and machines under the deck.  Afterwards, he reinstalled the beam and the finished product was perfect.
We have shown this deck to many of our neighbors and friends and they have marveled at how beautiful the finished product looks.  One of our friends, himself a craftsman, said, "you can tell that this guy (Schmitt) is a master carpenter."  We could not be more pleased with the finished product.  In fact, we have an understanding with Paul that he will return in the Spring to build an auxiliary deck supplementing the main deck.

    Adamson Construction LLC
Pat and his workers were very patient and listened well.  The job was started on time and finished approximately on schedule given unexpected weather type delays.   Quality of the work was good and the room is a showpiece of our house.   It came out looking exactly like we envisioned.   The workers showed up on time and were respectful and professional.   Listening to Pat and his employees work exemplified their level of experience.   One guy would call out a measurement, other guy would repeat back, the other guy would make the cut, and they moved on in a seamless fashion.  Only complaint that I have is that we asked for a quotation to build a gazebo and extension on our deck.  He never got back to us which we found to be odd.  It seems that with the limited number of weather-compatible building days in Western PA, some contractors aren't interested in smallish jobs.   However, I would have appreciated a polite "no, not interested" so that I could have moved onto to plan B.

    Michael F Whalen Contracting

Trim pieces around the arched windows were installed using two different finishes and  did not match after we specifically reviewed this detail. Contract specified that 2-3 additional panels were to be replaced on the rear of the house and only 1 was replaced because the workers had stated that they had to finish today and wouldn't be returning. Paint spots were splattered on the trek decking. when I mentioned to the contractor he told me they'll come off with soap and water, not true...Contractor used two different materials for base trim on rear of house,

Contractor stated that he was getting too old for this business and didn't need to hear my issues. That he had lost money on the job even though he finished within the time frame he quoted. Be careful when a contractor states that he wants to make sure your happy with his work, then when issues arise he comes back and states that it's impossible to make you happy...

    JDF Services
    Job went very well.
They came every day until finished, approximately two weeks.  Even though we had some days where bad weather was forecasted.
    Very professional
Neat, they cleaned up at the end of every day.
We had some small changes which they took care of.
Had issues with 2 items (threshold and gutter) after job was completed.  They came up promptly and took care of it.  And followed up with a phone call.
    Very pleased.
Highly recommend Jack and his crew.
Anyone wants to see his work is welcome to stop by and check it out.

    Michael F Whalen Contracting
I called Mike on Tuesday and he came out that Saturday to give us a bid.  He was very honest with his quote - gave us a ballpark figure and followed up with a quote via email.
He has been in constant contact and ask if they could install the sliding glass doors prior to the deck installation.  (we can't have the deck installed until the A/C unit is moved)  We agreed.
Mike's son and crew worked last Thursday and Friday, removing an existing window and installing a slider with vertical blinds built into the door.   The crew was extremely professional and did a fantastic job.  I am thrilled!
We are anxiously waiting for the deck to be built and if it goes as smoothly as the door I know I will love it.

    Bella Railings

We needed to have front porch and curved paving stone entry steps protected with railings. Did my thorough research through Angie's List and learned that Bella Railings is the only company in the area that provides a unique, rigid mounting process that is better than other vinyl, wood, aluminum or iron fabricator's methods. A great deal of that is explained on the Bella Railings website, and I work with a girl who just had a job done with Bella, and she was very pleased with result.

Consultant, John Maxwell, visited our home with a wealth of information: product samples, engineering data and zillions of pictures and customer referrals. John is passionate about the company and products they manufacture and install. Rightfully so. We needed a curved railing. Bella is the only fabricator who makes a reinforced, maintenance-free curved railing, with a unique mounting system too. John made a detailed sketch for us, provided a fair price and we agreed to have Bella do the work.

Mike, the installer, showed up on time, had a great attitude and started to work. He was very precise on his plumb and level specifications, miter cuts and joint-fitting. We were both excited at the evenness of the curved railing as it tracked the curve of the entry steps.

    Classic Deck Impressions
They were on time every day, provided great input as to the progress of the job and the expected completion date. Provided great 3D renderings of the deck and allowed us to make changes to the plan. They updated the 3D renderings so that we could evaluate the changes before the job ever started. Price was as quoted and very reasonable for the quality craftmanship put into the job.
