The technician arrived quickly and was very nice. My wife explained that the start button had been getting bad -- sometimes it worked, sometimes it did not. Unfortunately, he gave a quick check of the button, found that it seemed to click (which we already knew) then went on to test two electronic boards on the machine. His tests showed no power to either board so he recommended we spend $400 to replace one board, possibly $600 for both boards. That was nearly the price of the machine so we decided to think about it some more. In the meanwhile, my wife kept trying to get the start button to work so she could get some clothes dried. Eventually, the machine came back on. When it did, everything worked fine. Repeated drying attempts are as before -- sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. We still need to get that button replaced. It seems to us that had our description of the problem been listened to at the start the bad part would have been identified. Instead tests were done that suggested a problem with electronic boards that work fine when the start button works. The $100 visit fee is standard, but we don't think the advice we got for that amount of money was worth it.

So far repairs are holding *UPDATE 10/15/18* Update to original review. Repairs lasted less than one month. Upon researching the work the technician performed, it was learned that the work performed was unnecessary and would have never solved our repair issue long term. In fact, some of stated that the work performed and advisement of the work to be performed could be considered fraudulent. Specifically, that recharging a closed Freon system is something that should never be performed.

Very prompt with his response to our service request. We contacted him on a Friday evening and he not only responded right away to our email, but came the next day (a Saturday) by early afternoon! That is unheard of with appliance repair services! He promptly identified the problem, had the part on his truck and was in and out within a half an hour. Polite, professional and friendly. A "fair" for price, but honestly, appliance repair cost is high regardless of provider. He was upfront with his diagnostic fee and labor fee before coming out. To me, it was worth it because I wasn't going to have to wait a week (according to several other appliance repair service providers) to have my dryer repaired. Would recommend and definetly use again!

Excellent. I called Sears Appliance repair first on 11/21/17. Their earliest appointment was 12/7/17! I then looked on Angie's List and found Appliance Services. He pre-analyzed the problem on the phone based on information he requested and came out that afternoon and did the repair. He even sent a video via iMessage showing the problem and the repair after completion. Excellent service.

We are new to area. Found two local companies on Angie's List. Left message with one company who didn't return call. Called Action next day. Tom came same day, quickly determined problem and ordered parts. Called a few days later to say parts were in. We scheduled appointment at OUR convenience. He came when scheduled, quickly installed parts. No more squeal!

They were fine; no problem. I had to buy a new washer, the warranty was gone. They were here on time. They said they would be here between two hours on a certain day and they were. That is acceptable to me. You might go to a big box home improvement store and get it $20 cheaper, but they don't offer the service that Sears does. Your are covered for, like, a year and they don't offer that. I like to deal with a retailer that has been in business for a long time. They are good. I have no complaints about their punctuality. I have no complaints. The guy was honest and was not good. It was the computer that went bad and he said it was time to buy the new machine so I took his advice and I am not sorry.

Pat came on time and addressed the problem. After a few days, the issue happened again. Pat came out right replaced the blown out igniter, made another adjustment to the oven, and did this all at no extra charge. Oven has been working ever since.

Mr Gay responded quickly to my phone call and fit me in the same day. My small refrigerator was icing over completely. He diagnosed the problem as a very bad seal. He adjusted the door and reattached the existing seal and suggested adding some inexpensive weather stripping to further ensure no outside air gets in. The refrigerator is almost 15 years old and the parts are no longer made so I was happy that his adjustments were all it took to get it working properly again.

Richard Gay is a wonderful appliance repairman. He is prompt as well as thorough. He arrives on time and finishes jobs in a timely fashion. His work is impeccable. I have used Richard for repairs for over 30 years. I wouldn't consider using anyone else.

He attempted to find the leak.  Tried different things, until he found it.  Then he tried to clear the tube in various ways, but when he tested to see if it was cleared, was still not totally satisfied that it was clear.  He had to pull out the refrigerator and get in from the back.  He found the problem, took care of it, and cleaned up in no time.
I called him in the evening, and he came out the very next day.  Can't ask for more than that.
