    JAG Construction Services LLC
Originally it started as an electrical socket upgrade and Denny J. pressured my 81 year old mother into various upgrades. He had her writing checks for more proposals while not completing previous work. By law as a contractor you have to give a 3 day cancellation notice, which he never had in the contract and immediately deposited the checks. Incredibly expensive proposal for little work, poor workmanship, improper electrical wiring, cheap plumbing materials, leaving the electrical panel exposed, not attaching drain piping though he attached the water lines, the list goes on and on. JAG is nothing more than a fraudulent contractor and everyone should stay away from this company.

Our heat just went out in the middle of winter. I put in a service call and they were able to come out the same day. They had the parts that I needed and had our heat back on quickly. About two years ago in July our air suddenly stopped. It was determined our unit needed to be replaced. They had done the research on our unit and it was still under the manufacturer's warranty. We ended up getting our unit replaced and paid them for their service hours. Every time we have called, they have always been able to help us right away and at a good price. They employees they have our very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend.

They would not work with me to replace a top of the line Bock oil fired hot water heater which failed after only 4 years. I found out they had never checked the anode rods even though I was on their premier service plan for the life of the heater. They would not agree to check the rods in the future. What they did do was drop me! The company now is very predatory and is only interested in making money and not providing premier service to customers.

We had great trouble connecting to look at the actual work. There was a scheduled apt & I waited for over two hours for the tech. Only to find that a note that he was there and never rang the doorbell. He said he knocked & called the house. I am not doubting that he did that but there was no missed call or message from the tech that day. I'm not comfortable having someone to attempt to find & solve a plumbing problem. That doesn't make sure they connect after they say they've waited 20-30 minutes! By ringing the doorbell!!

The price is in the contract I signed for the installation. They are very competitive. The installers were very knowledgeable and very quick. The products are at a very good price compared to other competitors. They are excellent.

We looked long a hard at geothermal technology first and then focused our energies on the Waterfurnace brand, which I've heard and read great things about. Next came finding a local company with the experience and service standards I expected (lots and high level). While I got squirmy answers from other vendors, JK provided the answers I was looking for which in essence is "if something isn't right, we'll fix it". That's every part of the installation. That's important to me as most installers don't cover/handle issues with the wells which is a big part of the cost of installing geothermal.

A few notes on our installation: we went with the 7 Series, which was about a $7-8k premium over the 5 Series which is still the bigger seller. Our system used the Intellizone-2 zone controller to feed air to three zones. We also replaced our water heater and our electrical panel and those costs are reflected in the price above. We also had the extra water tank added to collect hot water from the system. Also included was the removal of the oil tank (yahoo!). Lastly, our price included drilling the two wells (forget the depth, but know they're deeper than the 5 series needed) and a rough grade.

Starting with the salesman, I received very quick and thorough replies from the initial contact thru project startup, when a project manager became my contact. I never felt pressured and always felt he was listening to our needs. We used PA Help loan program and JK worked well with them to get the loans approved. This process wasn't the easiest thanks to some confusion with two loans instead of one, but only needed an extra phone call to resolve.

When the project started, the project manager does a walkthrough to assure we all understand the requirements for the zones, placement of the three thermostats, etc. the company was flexible with scheduling around our vacation. Also, even though they subcontract the oil tank removal and the well drilling, JK does all the scheduling. You will get a call from the well drillers to confirm the times and provide some info on what to expect. Our project manager stayed in touch with us and was there after the install for some minor questions we had. During the install he was there the first day and came back the last to wrap up.

The well drillers were professional and there when they promised. They set up a silt fence to protect against runoff - lots of grey sludgy water when drilling deep. The drilling is LOUD...wear ear plugs and/or headset when watching. I watched a lot because it was a cool process. All of their joints are heat fused, which is the strongest. The trench dug to the house was done to avoid tree damage. They even removed a shrub that was protecting the now-gone ac unit. At the end, the yard is rocky (we have a lot of shale), but evened out and graded away from the house.

The crew who came for the oil tank were quick and efficient and obviously had done such jobs hundreds of times. They dug from the outside to remove the pipes that came in for filling the oil tank. Then they went inside to actually remove the oil tank. When removing they took extra care not to bang walls or make a mess. Finally, they filled the holes in the concrete foundation wall where the oil fill pipes came into the house. They used filler inside the wall and concrete patches a few inches deep at both sides. This is the only part of the job that I asked the project manager to come back and fix. He personally came back with a bag of concrete took off the inside patch remove the filler and fill the entire wall with a concrete mix at no extra charge.

The actual install for everything inside was also done with attention to detail. The person doing my install personally owned a 7 Series geothermal system at his own house, which provided me with some level of comfort with his knowledge of the system. All work, from running new ducts in the basement, to the configuration of the heat pump was done with my requirements in mind. If they weren't sure of my preference, they asked. It was a good crew, and treated me with loads of respect and patience - if I'm spending this kind of money I'm going to ask a few questions. On the last day, when the schedule was tight, they brought in a third man to assist and keep to their plan. The primary two-man crew had one expert installer and one person helping (and getting the experience to become their next expert).

All in all, it was a great investment and one I would only have made with JK Mechanical.

I put in a request and heard back from the company within an hour.  The technician came to the house that afternoon and diagnosed the problem, went for the parts and returned to complete the work, all within an hour's time. Diagnosis was $99, tank was$137 and relief valve $93.  I felt that the cost for the work done was reasonable.  The technician let me know before he arrived that the diagnosis would be $99.  He then let me know what the cost would be when he determined the problem.  I agreed that I wanted the work done and he went to get parts and completed the installation.  I will call McClure to do other work when I need something done.  I was impressed with the technician's work.
