AOver the years (prior to trusting Dr. Crumrine with my smile), I’ve come to dread my dental appointments. Will they find another cavity? Are they going to comment about how little I floss? Will the dental hygienist chip so much plaque off my teeth that she hits herself in the eye and has to go to the hospital and end up on worker’s compensation (all because of me)? My family has tried many dentists over the years. The dread has always been there for me…until we changed to Dr. Crumrine. With Pam and her amazing staff, we have found an excellent dental practice that is so much more. She cares about each of us, and more than just our dental health. She is more than a doctor. She’s a great friend! Each appointment includes amazing service, excellent care, a hot towel to wipe off with and a parting gift. I travel a lot for work, and it says a lot about your dentist when you walk out feeling like you were just in first class on a flight. Dr. Crumrine and her staff are truly amazing. I do not dread going to the dentist anymore. Please, if you are looking for an awesome dentist, look no further than Dr. Pamela Crumrine. Just make one appointment, and I promise you that you’ll have a dentist and friend for life. There’s no better dentist to trust your smile with.

AOn August 3, 2018, I had a root canal performed at the Pitt Dental School. The procedure went extremely well, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Pitt Dental School, and especially, the extremely talented Dr. Robert Hasselbach. I was very nervous about the procedure, since it was my very first root canal, but Dr. Hasselbach was WONDERFUL! He was very kind, patient, and understanding, in addition to being extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Hasselbach explained the whole procedure to me in detail, and then he again explained what he was doing each and every step of the way. He put my mind at ease. And he also patiently answered all my questions. He was also very understanding if I needed a short break during the procedure. I am so grateful that Dr. Hasselbach was able to save my infected tooth. And I am so glad that I was randomly assigned to such an outstanding endodontic resident, who also happened to be a super nice person! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to the Pitt Dental School if you are on a budget and trying to save some money on a specialized procedure, like a root canal. You will receive TOP QUALITY CARE at a fraction of the cost of a traditional dentist or endodontist. My root canal cost 1/3 of what other practices around the Pittsburgh area were going to charge. My regular dentist had highly recommended the Pitt Dental School for my root canal, and I trusted her opinion. I'm so glad that I did. I couldn't have asked for a better outcome. I hope that I never again need another root canal, but if I do, I will seek out Dr. Hasselbach and/or the Pitt Dental School. I received excellent care, and for that, I am very grateful. P.S. I have heard from various friends and from reading online reviews that if you are going to Pitt Dental School for general dentistry (exams, cleaning, fillings, etc.), you may need quite a few appointments, and it will take a lot longer compared to going to a regular dentist--because you're dealing with dental students. I work full time, so the Pitt Dental School isn't a good option for me for general dentistry. But when I needed a root canal, I made an appointment, came in, and got the procedure done--all in one day. Easy peasy! Dr. Hasselbach did caution me at the start that I MIGHT have to come back for a second appointment, depending on the level of my tooth infection, but fortunately, he was able to do everything in one visit. Anyway, I think if you are a college student with a flexible schedule, retired, unemployed, or anyone else who makes their own hours--then the Pitt Dental School would be a good option for quality care at a lower cost. But if you work full time like me, you might want to only go there if you are in need of specialized dental work, like a root canal. It really depends on your situation, your level of patience, and your budget.

ADr. Sherman was recommended by a physician friend who had him provide orthodontics care for her children. He corrected issues with my bite (caused by an experience with another orthodontist) and made my teeth look great. He and his staff are very professional and willing to be flexible with scheduling as needed. I have been going to him for years and am currently driving ~3.5 hours to obtain my orthodontics services from him (i.e., yes, he is that good of an orthodontist). I have recommended him to my colleagues and highly recommend him to anyone who may be looking for a great orthodontist.

FTerrible. The temporary denture did not fit properly. I was never able to chew on the left side of my mouth. I went back several times in the hopes of their fixing the problem. My complaints were ignored. The dentist assigned to me hardly did any work on me at all. Everything was handled by his young assistant. She did everything, and she was very condescending to me, which I finally called her out on. These people seem to be nice enough, but their mannerisms seem very put on. False cheeriness, which I have a hard time with. Now I've had these temporaries in for two years now, and they are causing issues with my teeth on the left side. When I last saw the dentist, he went to remove the upper denture. He seemed to be having a bit of a problem getting the denture out. I went to show him how I learned to take it out without it causing any pain. He said that everyone has their special techniques, and continued to pull on the denture. He hurt me when it wasn't necessary. Now I need to have implants, and I need a good dentist, and that's why I came on this site. I paid a great deal of money for poor work and condescension., I've tried to reach their Dr. Brown, the dentist who was assigned to me; it's been literally months now, but he hasn't contacted me as he said he would. I call, but am told that he's out or in a meeting. I leave messages, all to no effect. Now I have to find another dentist. My periodontist is a fine person, but she feels that it wouldn't be proper for her to make a recommendation.

A state-of-the art dental facility located in Pittsburgh PA! Dr. Kevin Pawlowicz has been practicing dentistry for 20 years in western Pennsylvania and continues to strive to bring his patients the best that dentistry has to offer!
Recent Review:
FWell where should I start. I arrived at Fox Chapel Advanced Dental Care after visiting several other dentist for the purpose 4 on 4 implants and felt most comfortable with Kevin Pawlowicz, DDS. I was originally given an estimate of $15,000 and was told that monies must be paid in advance to complete work. I was then asked that since Dr Bono was fairly new and had not had much experience doing implants if he could do the implants under Dr. Kevin's supervision that they would do the 1 day permanent implants at a discounted price of $20,000 instead of the regular cost of $30,000. After thinking it over I decided to go with offer to let Dr. Bono do procedure under guidance of Dr. Kevin and this is when the nightmare began. I paid in the beginning of May 2018 $5000.00 of which I financed and 15,000 cash. Weeks went past and I would ask several times when work was going to start and was told they were waiting for an outside lab to get back with them because they were going to be doing the lab work and they needed to be available the same time the work was being performed. Weeks went past and still no answer. I then decided to just go with regular 4 on 4 because I was starting a new job and need work done before I started because I knew I was not going to have time off for healing. When I asked for the $5,000 to be refunded I was told I could not get refund because he had to pay finance company fee of 340 for financing the $5,000, which I later found out that was not true. A week or so later of was refunded monies minus the finance company fee of $340. Work started 1st week in June which consisted of pulling upper teeth and placement of 2 implants. About couple months later after constantly asking when other 2 implants were going to placed he then placed another implant. I asked I don't know how many times when 4th and final implant was going to be place after he started taking impressions for teeth and would never get a clear answer as to when 4 implant was going to be placed. At that time I decided that I was not going to go back for work to be completed because I did not feel implants were positioned properly and the one implant was not showing signs of being able to be engaged with tooth placement. I then started writing and sending certified letters asking for partial refund at which one time we had agreed on an amount but he was asking for me to sign a release form releasing him of all liability of work the was done up and to this point, which I refused. I had several consults with other dentists to see if work that was done was done properly and was told none of implants were placed properly and that they were going to have to remove implants and that a sinus lift along with bone grafting was going to have to be done in order to properly do 4 on 4. This work was going to cost me a tone of $13,000 monies which I do not have. With all the new information I decided to seek advice from attorney as to how to proceed with getting monies back. In the meantime, Dr. Kevin took it upon himself to send $5000.00 back to finance company because I had called finance company to see how I could go about filing a complaint and he refunded me $1100.00 which to this day I have not cashed. I have constant headaches daily and can not have implants removed because they are going to cost me $3000.00 just to have them removed and bone place in space implants now occupy. So as of now I basically gave away $9000 dollars which took me some time to save up money in order to get implants in the first place. I also had to file a complaint with the PA Dental Board which I'm still waiting for investigation to be completed. So my advise to anyone thinking of getting implants at Fox Chapel Advance Dental please please save yourself some time and money and find another place to get your mouth done. Yes they have the latest and greatest equipment but knowledge of doing implants is not there. And whatever you do please do not pay for any work upfront because you will never get a refund if you are not pleased with the work. Let my mistake be a lesson for all. Also say I prayer that I receive the proper refund so that I am able to get my mouth done and be free of pain once and for all and maybe Dr. Kevin will find it in his heart to refund my monies because you know the saying, what goes around comes around.

CMazur and Kirsch DentistryI can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Mazur! He consistently provided an exceptional experience each time I had either a general cleaning or a filling. Not only is Dr. Mazur knowledgable within his craft, but he also creates a calm environment for those that are nervous to go to the dentist and is extremely gentle! However, his receptionist staff has unfortunately left a horrible impression and is the main reason why I have transferred out of Dr. Mazur's office. In the past, there have been multiple occasions where I have had to cancel an appointment or simply schedule a new one. On all of these occasions, the receptionists have never once called me back for a follow up to my numerous voicemail messages. Eventually, when I was able to find a new dentist I was required to have Dr. Mazur's office send along my records to the new dentistry. What I received in return for my request was attitude and complete disrespect. I have enjoyed my time with Dr. Mazur and his other staff, but I worry that if an immediate change is not made to their receptionist staff, they could potentially lose even more clients.- Delaney B.

AComplete Dental CareThe best dentist I have been to in my 66 years. Doctor was so gentle that had he not said he was done I would not have known that my tooth had been extracted. I am having a partial made so I will be back in 3 weeks. Have sent my son and his family also. Staff is friendly and helpful as was the doctor. My insurance covered everything so I had no out of pocket costs. I highly recommend this office for your dental needs.- Gerald J.
