  • Took two attempts to install. Took extended time to install wall switch wiring (first guy couldn't get it right, second guy on second visit hooked it up properly). On first attempt to install, hung fan with a wall-board screw. They required me to order a replacement remote control, but not sure the original was defective. Had same problem with second remote until it was figured out how to operate the remote. No big deal but had to fix wobble (properly secure fan to ceiling joist) myself with attic schims and do minor repair of ceiling around their install work. Very nice people, they really tried their best.

  • Initially we hired them to install our attic fan and rewire the bathroom, but when we uncovered several fire hazards in our 50+ year old house we had them come back. Gary gave us estimates and Scott & Mike came back and spent two days bringing our house to a point where we can feel safe at night. They were very thorough and considerate and a pleasure to work with.  They did a great job of cleaning up after themselves.  They went out of their way to ensure we understood everything and paid attention to the details such as making sure everything they did was the way we wanted it and convenient for us. We still have plenty of electrical work to do on our house and will definitely be calling them again when we are ready for the next installment.

  • I called Michael & Son Services on May 1, 2012, to have them come to our house to give us an estimate. We are looking to have an exhaust fan installed in two different bathrooms on the second story of our home as there are no exhaust fans currently in place. We want to have the exhaust fans vent outside (through the attic and roof) and the woman I spoke to on my initial call told me that they could do this. The woman told me that there is a $29.00 fee to have a service man come out to do the estimate. She told me that if we had the work done during the visit, the $29.00 would be applied to our bill. We had wanted to get a few estimates, and there was no way I was going to agree to have the service conducted on the spot (this job is looking to be around $2,000.00 and I don't think it should be a rushed decision). I told her that none of the other companies I spoke to have this policy and asked her if there was anyway she could waive the fee. She placed me on hold for six minutes and when she came back on the line she said that the fee would be waived. I then scheduled an appointment on May 4, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. On May 3, 2012, I called to confirm the appointment since no one from the company called me. I also verified that the service man would call me when he was en route to my house and the woman told me he would. On May 4, 2012, I received no calls and my husband and I finally gave up waiting at 6:10 p.m. The service man finally called at 6:20 p.m. to say that he was on his way and he would be at our house in 45 to 60 minutes. I told him that I was quoted a time frame of 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and we had set aside our whole afternoon but we had left our house to grab dinner at 6:10 p.m. He was apologetic and asked if we wanted to reschedule our appointment. I told him that we would not be using Michael & Son Services because if this is how they treat their customers we do not want to use them. A piece of advice for Michael & Sons Services: if you are not able to make it during the quoted time frame at least call the customer to give them an update.

  • Ruth was extremely professional, on time and her work was excellent. The only negative with the experience was the price. The structure is that they come to the house, review the work to be done and then provide a real time estimate for the work to be completed. If you agree, they begin work immediately. Price is deteremined by a per project price quoted from their book. If I had done my homework in advance I would have known that the price quoted was excessive, but candidly I was anxious to get the work done. The job had to be done over two days and I ended up cancelling the second part of the work because of the price.

  • Fair. The work was done over a couple of days. I bought the ceiling fans, they installed them. They function fine and look good, though there was drywall damage on the wall that was hastily (and poorly) repaired. Circuit was added and garage wires were moved. Some wires were moved though they did not need to be and I was credited for the work. Bathroom fans were installed and vented through the roof when weather permitted. Cleanup was pretty good inside (dust and bits of wire left behind), but very poor in the attic where debris was left behind and insulation was removed and not put back. I did contact Rich Little about the poor cleanup, he apologized and offered to take care of it, but I chose to do it myself.

  • Mike and his team were consummate professionals. They performed all the work they promised to complete on time and in perfect working order. Mike was infinitely patient with our ceiling fan saga, as 3 separate fan models for the very high but sloped ceiling did not accommodate the slope of the roof. Mike and his team came back TWICE to install the fan after a proper model was secured. During this entire ordeal, Mike was patient at explaining what was wrong and even suggested solutions. I have no reservations using him again for any electrical work I need to have done, nor do I hesitate in recommending him to anyone who needs electrical work.
