    doug and his crew--andrew, ed and chris--were all very professional. they were prompt, courteous, clean and the work environment (pleasant and no foul language!!) was VERY much appreciated! all of our concerns were addressed, when additional work was needed, it wasn't a problem, and...the piece de resistance: when supplies came in under the anticipated price, doug let me know and detracted that sum from the balance due!! :) :) i will recommend cahill construction again and again, based upon my very positive experience!

    I had an issue with some surface mold in my upstairs bathroom. I contacted Green Home Solutions for some testing. They found relatively low numbers of spores in that room, but found significantly more in the part of my basement that has had a moisture problem. After receiving the results, Green Home Solutions proposed a remediation plan that included relocating the runoff from two downspouts that was likely causing the moisture problem in the basement. I was a bit skeptical at first that a mold remediation company could take care of the runoff issue, but was definitley proven wrong. The crew arrived on time and set to work with the remediation and work outside—it only took a little more than a day to complete everything. After the work was completed, the project manager made sure to ensure I was satisfied. There was a few concerns with how the yard had been repaired, so they sent someone back out the following day to take care of my concerns. I can't speak highly enough for the owners and their crew—everyone took the time to listen to my concerns, answer questions, and didn't treat me like I knew nothing, unlike another firm that had submitted a quote. I wanted to wait some time before submitting this review—just to make sure that the moisture in the basement, ponding storm water, and mold were taken care of and didn't come back. It's been roughly 8 months and I've had no issues whatsoever. The basement smells clean and maintains a normal humidity level even when it is wet oustide, and I don't have a small lake in my yard. I couldn't be happier!

    Every step was professional and Mr. Cahill responded to every change in plans that I asked for. He estimated cost and duration of job and he was true to his word. The project turned out great. He was a pleasure to work with and I would not hesitate call on him and his crew again.

    Refinishing floors - The floors were pretty badly stained when I bought the house. I've had 3 prior bids to refinish the floors, all three said they could not remove the stains and quoted me ~ $3 a sq. ft. to sand, stain and finish. Mike was the 4th person to bid on the floors. He felt confident he could get the stains out, and quoted $6 a sq. ft. It was expensive but I had high hopes we could get the stains out. In the end he couldn't get the stains out and we stained the floors dark to hide the stains as much as possible. The floors look good, I just wish I had gone with one of the other three bids, it would have saved me a lot of money. But I can't fault Mike for that. I've attached photos of the before and after in the living room. Touch up baseboards - Clearly painting is Spotless Solutions strong suit. The baseboards look great and the cost was reasonable. Install tankless water heater - Mike subbed this out to Don Kuhn plumbing. Don and RJ did a really professional and neat job. We hit a couple of bumps along the way: the first tank was damaged and had to be replaced, the first vent wouldn't work in the location where the tank was being installed and had to be exchanged. This wasn't my first rodeo, so I expected that there would be some gotcha's, no surprise there. It all worked out and the tank is great. Don and RJ really impressed me by staying for at least an hour after the tank was installed to test it and tweak the installation until it was perfect. Add electrical circuit - Brandon did a great job and was very professional. And he even installed a light switch that was not part of the original scope of work. Great guy, highly recommended. Install exterior door - This is where the project took a turn for the worse. I was out of town on the Monday that Mike and his helper came to install the door. I didn't return home until Thursday evening and since I hadn't heard otherwise, I assumed the installation went well. I was wrong. The first thing I noticed was a large uneven gap between the door and the casing on the strike side. I could fit my finger into the gap, and the latch was barely catching on the strike. When I tried to open and close the door, it took considerable force to open and close it. The screen door wouldn't close or latch. There was a screw missing from each of the hinges, turns out those were the 4" screws that should have been used to attach the door to the frame, instead the door was nailed into the frame. various other pieces of trim were missing, the closer for the screen door was reinstalled improperly. The door had to be removed and reinstalled properly. Mike subbed that out to a carpenter, who did the work right. Overall, I think the thing that irritates me the most about the door debacle is the lack of communication. Clearly Mike had to know that the door was not installed properly. He was on the job the entire time. Mike tried to blame it on his helper, saying he left him there to finish up so he didn't know about the problems with the door. But I have security cameras in the house and I saw that it was Mike who was working on the door, and Mike and his helper left together. I would have appreciated a phone call or text message letting me know that the door wasn't 100%. It left a really bad taste in my mouth. To add insult to injury, when I got the invoice, there was a $500 mistake in Mike's favor. I'm glad I went over it carefully.

    The work was excellent. Initially the office staff was very respectful of our situation. They set up an appointment with Bill Richel to come out at our convenience. He was friend, respectful, knowledgeable and professional. He was well prepared. The estimate they gave us was several thousand dollars cheaper than other companies. They were the only company that offered to spray our walls with a mold treatment when they were done. They patched any cracks we had in our concrete walls. The estimate included them moving the heavier stuff in our basement for us. The men that arrive were very courteous and respectful. Put up plastic tarp to protect our house from dirt. They got the job done in three days. Just like the estimate had promised the men moved the heavy stuff out and back into my house when they were done. My wife and I our very pleased with work.

    I contacted Galen to obtain an estimate in May for a repair to my shower that was caused by a pvc pipe that was cracked during a freeze. Galen was very willing to work within my budget constraints and was very helpful in making suggestions as to what he thought might be best in the long term rather than just repairing the cracked pipe problem. We eventually ended up replacing all of our household pvc piping with pex pipe and I am so glad we did!

    Galen & his assistant were able to schedule the work to be done within a week, were very prompt, cleaned up after the job and were even willing to do a few other tasks for me prior to leaving for the day. He even came back the very next day to promptly correct an issue with my shower handle that was maybe to some people a minor issue, but he took care of it right away.

    I am very satisfied with the scope of work that they performed and will call them again for any other job I may need done.

    I contracted Bob to do some sizable renovations to the plumbing in my house after being given the run around with two other firms. Bob was extremely prompt and professional in coming out to inspect and give me a fair quote for the work. Everything went very well, they even worked all day on Saturday to finish the week-long job without delay. There were some minor communication issues, but nothing that would prevent me from recommending Bob to anyone in a similar situation. I purposely waited to submit this review to make sure that everything is working, and no issues have arose since they completed the work over a month ago. His dedication to completing the job and quality of workmanship was very much appreciated.

    At the time when Brian saved me from Roto Rooter in July of 2013, he said that it would September before he could take on my voluntary renovations/repairs outlined above. That September, I contacted Brian to come and give a quote on what it would cost to complete the work. After repeated phone calls and unanswered messages, I was eventually told that they were too busy and couldn't accept my job for another two months. Mr. Bowman finally came to my house to evaluate the work two months the week of Thanksgiving.
    We quickly went over the work that I was looking to have done as Brian was in a hurry to get to a job that morning. I noted that despite there being 5-6 different projects, Brian didn't write anything down, which I took to mean that he was serious about getting me a quote ASAP. He explained that although I was likely to see a quote within a week or two, he would be unable to perform the work until the new year as he takes the month of December off. I was understanding and had no problem with what appeared to be his being up front and honest. I say "appeared to be" because I did not hear from Brian again until March 2014 after many more unanswered phone calls and messages. Admittedly, I did not try calling him again until March because of the particularly cold winter that we experience; I figured that excavation would be impossible thanks to the sub-zero cold snaps.
    When I did speak with Mr. Bowman in early March, he thanked me for my patience and understanding with the repeated delays and was able to give me a verbal quote of $4,300 based off some sort of notes that he had written down after visiting my home 4 months earlier. At that time he asked me when I would like to schedule the project, to which I said ASAP. Brian said that he would start a file for my project, and that they would definitely be out to my place within the next two weeks to complete the job; I would be given 48 hour notice before coming to start the work.
    This was the last time that I spoke with Mr. Bowman, who did not contact me within the 2 week window that he identified. After 3-4 weeks and another series of unanswered/unreturned phone calls, I  left my final message in early April 2014. In that message I gave Brian an ultimatum and asked for, at the very least, the courtesy of confirming that they were either unable or uninterested in completing the work after stringing me along for 7 months. Later that same day, Mrs. Bowman returned my phone call to tell me that she spoke with her husband and that I would be looking at least another 3 months before they could even begin to look at scheduling the job due to industrial jobs in West Virginia that were taking up all of his time, and would be for the foreseeable future.
    I thanked her for her honesty and expressed my disappointment that I had not been received the same honesty for the previous 7 months. I also understood that Brian was very busy, which I took for a sign of the quality of his workmanship and confirmation of the high recommendation from another plumber who was not equipped to handle my project. However, there are quite a few things that I take issue with.
    First and foremost, I feel that I was lied to for 7 months. At no time after the initial emergency call, did Brian follow through on or come close to meeting what he had promised me. Whenever I would actually get him on the phone, I usually heard about how after dealing with less than understanding customers all day, the last thing he wanted to do at the end of the day is return phone calls, so that was why he didn't get back to me right away. For that reason, I feel that Mr. Bowman took advantage of my understanding and willingness to take whatever reason he had for not returning phone calls/pushing back my project at face value.
    I will say that my experience with Brian for the initial emergency call was exemplary. He was prompt, courteous, took the time to explain the situation, and actually saved me $9000 in unnecessary repairs from Roto Rooter's claim. For that reason, I would recommend Brian for any emergency situations as he is very accommodating in the event of an emergency, and does not try to do anything that you absolutely do not need.
    However, my experience with him after that emergency call was the extreme polar opposite. If the work you are looking to have done is not an emergency situation,  my experience suggests that Mr. Bowman probably is not the man for the job unless you are prepared to wait indefinitely.

    I originally called Holzer Plumbing on May 19, 2014. Jim returned my first phone call the same evening that I called him and we set up time for him to come and evaluate the work two days later. Mr Holzer showed up on time and was very courteous and professional. I showed him the various projects in my basement and consulted him for his professional opinion about how to go about relocating a floor drain and how he would replace the house trap/sewer main line. We then went over the outside excavation that would have to happen for the main line replacement, and Mr. Holzer even took the time to locate the line using what appears to be a dousing device.
    When Jim left my house, he said that I would definitely have a quote by the end of the following week, which was the week of Memorial Day. I did not receive his quote in this time frame, but gave Mr. Holzer the benefit of the doubt given the holiday weekend and decided to give him a few more days.
    After a couple unanswered phone calls and messages, Jim finally called me back on the evening of June 9, 2014. He was apologetic and explained that since the time he had come to my house, he had become inundated with a large number of requests for bids/quotes from contractors. I again gave Mr. Holzer the benefit of the doubt and agreed to give him until the next week to get the quote to me (the week of June 16, 2014).
    It is now June 30 and I have not heard from Mr. Holzer, nor received his quote.
    When I first contacted Mr. Holzer, I explained that I had been put in a tight place thanks to another firm repeatedly delaying doing the work and eventually falling through altogether. He explained that he was very busy given the small size of his firm, but was confident that he would be able to get me a quote and do the job by mid to late June.
    What bothers me the most about Jim is the lack of follow through and responsiveness that I have recieved after his initial visit to evaluate the work in order to create his quote. I completely understand that he has a finite amount of time and resources to complete work, but in my opinion, the fact that requests for bids/quotes that came in after I had him out to my place took preference over my request, speaks volumes about his reliability and professionalism.
    As such, this review is primarily based on the events that happened following my initial interactions with Jim when he came to evaluate the work. I cannot comment on his pricing or quality of his workmanship
    Mr. Holzer came highly recommended by neighbors and family, but their experiences were tied to emergency service. Perhaps if this had been an emergency call things would have turned out differently. If your project is voluntary renovations/repairs, I feel like Jim isn't the man for the job, at least during the peak summer months.

    Mike and his crew arrived and went right to work.  They got most of the inside plumbing done while digging the trench from the road to the house.  They were very careful to even save a tree my wife loves (I hope it would have to go) by digging around it by hand.  The inside was plumbed, the water line run to the street and the trench restored by shortly after lunch.  They returned that afternoon with fresh topsoil to re-seed the lawn.  The service and professionalism of Mike and his crew was great.  I look forward to using his service again.
