  • Missed diagnosis of infected Lower jaw (osteomyelitis). Son had to have part of jaw removed, a metal plate placed and weeks of IV antibiotics. A wonderful surgeon in Pittsburgh saved my son. We found the second opinion on our own and Mr. Queale had NOTHING to do with my son's recovery. My son may have suffered more severe consequences if we stayed with this provider. Consider yourselves warned. He INSISTED that my son was not cleaning his sockets, that it was food causing the lump in jaw- for a month. He did not order antibiotics post wisdom teeth extraction and DID NOT order any the times my son went back with this painful lump on his jaw. Ask many questions, review the possible complications and ask what the plan is to diagnos and treat any of the potential complications. I am a nurse and understand potential complications may occur, but my son's care was unacceptable.

  • I feel that my progress has been outstanding.  I am pushing 72 and, truthfully, my shoulder is going to be better than it's been for a long time.  Bob and his PTA Les have gradually pushed me to excel with my shoulder's rehab.  I probably have overstayed my welcome because I love going there.  They make the whole experience actually FUN, if you can believe that.  Granted, I haven't loved all of the routine, but I knew the exercises/machines were right.  Both Bob and Les have a terrific bedside manner.  My insurance company released me (read that quit ponying up), but I have continued to pay for my own sessions because I was still making progress.
I will have the option of continuing to use the facility's equipment w/o the hands on of the therapists.  But doing that will make me continue to do the exercises necessary for a full recovery.  Home exercise itself doesn't work for me as there is always some interruption(s).
The facility is clean and well-cared for.  Sue, the right hand woman at the front desk, is amazing.  Somehow she manages to co-ordinate scheduling and insurance and make everything run smoothly.
I have no experience with Michelle, the occupational therapist, but I imagine she is just as awesome as the rest of the staff.
Because I was familiar with this team from a previous facility, I knew that I wanted to continue with them in their new venture.  You will not be sorry if you need PT in the Latrobe area and opt for Phoenix.  They are located right downtown with plenty of parking.
One caution:  Unfortunately,UPMC insurance does not list Phoenix as a preferred provider.  Now that is just stupid.  Highmark and most other insurances work just fine.

  • made the appointment, got everything checked. They took the time to explain everything, took pictures of my eyes, answered all my questions. It appeared that a couple of stitches in my left eye were bothering my eye, but are too deep to actually safely remove w/o causing addtl problems. Also I found out that the original provider doing my eye surgery did not have to use stitches, since there are more advanced methods that can be done without the stitches. I will stay with this provider since they were allowing me to voice all my concerns, gave me ample of time to question and made sure I understood everything. Also they seem to be more advanced in the technology. They take pictures of the eyes and show and explain everything right there in front of you on the computer screen, thus better understanding.

  • Flannery performed what was supposed to be a minor surgery. Due to his "minor" surgery I had to have my foot operated on a second time. Dr. Hasselman discovered that FLannery did not remove any of the existing neuroma. Due to complications from Flannery's surgery I will have many serious issues with my left foot for the rest of my life.

  • I am scheduled for surgery on May 28, 2014 to have the tumor removed. Hopefully that will end the saga if there is any Cancer found when they biopsy the tumor the we are talking a whole new scenario. Another Big surgery and then treatments- radiations and/or chemo......... But we are going to hope for the least invasive. Because sometimes Hope is all you have.

  • I love everyone there. The exam rooms and waiting area is always kept pretty clean. I have lost 2 babies in one year and the doctors/staff have always been so supportive. They stay on top of my issues and always call me with any updates. When I speak to them on the phone or in person, they always make sure to ask how I am doing and let me know that if I need anything to just give them a call. Everyone is very personable. This has been such a tough year for me and I am so thankful for all the Doctors and Staff there.

  • I had issues with my bottom denture they had relined in Oct/Nov 2012 - they had told me if the denture would still bother me to come back and they would be able to do a soft reline. When questioned if there would be an additional cost once I chose to come back I was told no, they would just replace the reline they did.
Approx January this year I made the appointment to go back. Had been trying to deal with the non functioning bottom denture since November. However when I called there was nothing on record about the soft reline I was told about. I was told to come in and talk to them personally. The weather got bad, I got the flu ... Then I just didn't go back. I am still not wearing my bottom denture.
Their location is a pretty far distance from where I live. Do not know if I ever will go back/no one ever contacted me either.

  • What I liked was, I told him that I didn't have insurance and he gave me a written estimate on what things would cost so I could schedule when I had the money saved to go in and get it done. Then I got a good price because I'm a senior citizen now and he gave me another 10% off. The girl there was so nice.
