    Basement Lifeguard
Absolutely fantastic. Mikes crew came in and did the job quickly and correctly. We hit some expected snags that they were able to address and were also flexible in making some adjustments I asked for while work was underway. Mike is not pushy or salesy, just a good honest guy who does high quality work for a price that us literally 50%-75% of some of his competitors because he has less overhead. Its been almost a year now since the work was done and we haven't had a single problem. Ive recommended Basement Lifeguard to others, and will do so again.

It wasn't waterproofing the basement. I had a particular malady in the basement causing water to come in. It was a repair of the area and waterproofing that area. The gentleman was very professional. He gave me an approximation of what the job would cost. There was an anomaly that we sort of threw in that he couldn't give me a price on and he had to go back to speak with his manager to give me a specific on what I wanted to do. They show you the specific products they use and how they would do the job. It was very thorough. They were pretty on top of their game. They offered me suggestions as to what route I could go. They fulfilled what I was looking for. The suggestion for a sump pump was more expensive than the company I went with. They are independently run and their system was more complex and that's why it was more expensive. I had to determine the best way that I needed to go. Their work was above and beyond what I needed. Their price was fair.

We had an initial estimate with the company - they were way over priced compared to other competitors. They insisted on coming out for a second time and promised a discounted rate (still way overpriced). The man was extremely, rude, pushy, and in all they took over 3 hrs of our time trying to get our business. We ended up going with another company (obviously) and they then continued to call me for months. I rec'd 3 additional phone calls telling me they had new discounts to offer. Each time I told them we had already had the work done and that we felt harassed and very bothered by the company. The 3rd call the guys even said he saw in the notes that I had told them we already had the work done, yet he still called me to follow up. I can't quite understand why they continue to harass us with their phone calls. This is the worst company that I have had the displeasure of working with in a long time.

    Waterproofing One
Andy and Waterproofing One did fantastic work and I couldn't recommend them more. Communication and overall work performed were top notch. When Andy and the crew started their work, they found out the issue wasn't a wall leak but rather a structural issue near the house. They changed the work plan and fixed the issue without changing the quote. Andy kept me up to date with texts and pictures of the work and what they were finding. We have had a few large rains since the work was done and the issue appears to be fixed 100%. Water issues in a basement can be a huge headache and I feel fortunate that we found such a good company to work with. I would recommend them 100% and will definitely use them again (although I hope we won't have need to!)

First, let me say I am a little late in writing this review.  We called A.J. about an issue we knew when we bought the home, some water penetrating the basement wall near the front of the home.  He came out right away, looked at the issue and recommended that they dig down about 4-5 feet on the outside of the home where the water was penetrating to see what was happening and look to solve the problem.  His team was there the next day, digging by hand and working as best as possible to not disturb the plantings in the area.  They found some potential water penetration problems, sealed them with tar and put the whole area back to the way it looked when they started.  They did not leave a mess at all.  A.J. even worked with me to help get one of the companies he works with out there that week as well to clean up the inside mold issues where the water had come in.  I could not have been more pleased with the work he and his team had done.

After the job was completed, we discovered defects that should be covered under warranty.   We left several phone messages with Christopher and his office staff plus several e-mails.   We never got a response back.  We also never got a mold report as promised.

The first thing that impressed me about Mike was that he was NOT a salesman.  He is the owner of the company, who comes out to do estimates, then WILL be on the job while it is being completed.  When he arrived for the estimate, we went to the basement and found that the hot water heater was leaking.  My family was leaving for a vacation in a few days and was obviously I was very upset about this!  Mike saw my concern and he stopped to help me to deal with the situation at hand, leading me to the next steps to deal with the hot water heater.  Once I knew what to do, he finished his NO PRESSURE estimate, listening to my concerns and formulated solutions which worked for my family, as well as our budget!  When I called Mike back a couple of days later to schedule a date to begin the work, he first asked how my hot water heater situation was!  I felt that he respected me, and was concerned about me, not just the job!
Mike was on site for the entire job, beginning to end.  He and his crew were respectful of our home, including our cats, and each day when they left, the area were cleaned up.  We did not pay anything up front, only paid in full at the end.  There were no hidden costs, and the price that we were quoted is the priced that we paid.   When we had a concern a few weeks after the work was completed, Mike promptly returned to deal with the concerns.
I don't know that I have enough words to express how highly I recommend Basement Lifeguard.  I wish that every company could be so honest, and respectful of their customers!

    Millenium Kitchen and Bathroom Remodeling
Overall we are very pleased with the work that Millennium provided. When any questions or issues arose, they were addressed quickly. I could always reach someone by email or phone. They are trustworthy, respectful and worked with our schedule. When deciding on paint colors and carpet, they took us shopping to help pick out the materials. We did multiple walk-throughs as the project was finishing up to create a punch list and make sure nothing was missed. The project took longer to complete than originally expected but this was a large project, over 3 months, with many trades involved. The only thing I would change is the order in which the phases were completed....they should have focused more on getting the windows replaced earlier on while the weather was still nice out and left some of the painting and interior work for the colder weather. I will use them again to do additional work.

    AJ Waterproofing
From the initial contact through completion of the work. AJ waterproofing exceeded all expectations I had for basment waterproofing. We initially called as we could not understand why our basment was getting water when we were told the system installed was recent. After experiencing water issues in our last house I immediately ran all downspouts away from the house. This helped but did not solve the issue.
This is when I called AJ. I wanted to call a local company I could trust to stand behind the work. After reading several reviews on AL I made the call. AJ not only returned my call quickly he also came out personally. AJ provided details to us without the fluff on what our issue was. He also offered a ton of excellent advice to us as we are new to the area and we are just buying the house with the Basment problems. AJ took the time to explain why the system we had was failing. He also advised us we should call at a minimum 3 companies for a quote which we did. After having two other major companies in to provide a quote it was clear to me AJ was the only call I needed.
AJ got the work scheduled and complted quickly. After day one of the work our basment no longer had the musty smell and we knew how far down the new system went. Just think about how messy breaking concrete and digging out would be. AJ and his crew were professional, curtious and one of the cleanest contractors I have ever had work done by. once complete I could not belive how fantastic of a job AJ and his crew did. Thank you again for the excellent work.

    Paul Salvo Masonry Contractors
The crew arrived at 8:00 am on a Monday as promised.  A crew of at least 6 were on hand.  Jack-hammering the concrete basement floor around the entire perimeter of our basement started immediately.  The jack-hammering lasted about 5 or 6 hours one day 1, but we had made prior arrangements to have our pets removed and we were mostly not home during  that part of the process.  They excavated an approximate 1 ft wide trench around the entire perimeter of the basement.  They also dug a second sump pump pit at an opposite corner to the existing sump pump.  The excavated pit sloped toward both sump pump pits.  There was some minor structural demolition of some paneling and interior walls plus the removal of a built in set of wooden shelves that was necessary to dig and install the french drain.  They did this and removed all the demolition debris from the premises.  A crushed stone base was laid down and a 3" perforated drain pipe was installed in the trench.  The excavation was back-filled with more crushed stone. An aluminum drip edge was placed about 1/2" from the walls and when the floor was re-cemented, it was cemented up to the drip edge.  The basement walls were washed with bleach to remove existing mold, all cracks were cemented or calked and then the walls were painted with 2 coats of white Dry-Lock paint.  2 new submersible sump pumps were installed.  New PVC pump outlet piping with check valves were installed.  The Basement window wells were cleaned out and crushed stone was placed in all window wells.  The floors were swept and washed down.  The basement was cleaner after they were done then when they started.  The work was completed by 12:00 pm on Wednesday.
Now here's the interesting part.  A torrential rainstorm started on Wednesday morning.  We received approximately 3-4 inches of rain during Wednesday and Thursday.  Just as they finished the job and powered up the sump pumps, the water level in the sumps was starting to rise to the top.  The pumps ran the entire night, 21 seconds on, 21 seconds off.  By morning  the off time had increased to about 90 seconds.  By the end of Friday, the pumps were off entirely.  Our basement was completely dry.  We noticed several of our neighbors having their basements pumped out over that weekend.  One neighbor lost everything in  their basement.  That's how bad this freak storm was, but we were in good shape.  Perfect timing for a severe test of Salvo's work.
