The agreed time frame was two days for the old kitchen to be removed and new kitchen set installed. It took them 4 weeks, mostly because of a no call no show. Eventually the project was abandoned. The corner kitchen cabinets were self made, with foot prints on the inside. Corners were blocked, but with a hole at the bottom, not covered or anything. Just a hole. Tile around the cabinets is all sloppy; no grout between tiles. The sink was backed up as soon as they installed it; garbage disposal, despite of their promises, was never fixed/installed. There are multiple gaps between the cabinets and floor/ceiling. They left the trash from remodeling sit in front of the house for three weeks before they finally removed most of it. Overall: Never. Again.

Do your research. It seems this company is not familiar with the fundamentals of servicing clients, because he is rude, disrespectful and doesn't get back to you in a timely manner. Including my experience and that of another, there appears to be a pattern where he accepts the job, takes initial payment and then doesn't honor the work he's contracted for. He has poor communicate skills and didn't stay on top of the progress of the work on my basement, so it's no surprise he couldn't keep me adequately updated. It started out pleasant, but I soon experienced him brushing me off the phone if I had questions for him. His contracts lacked in itemized details and it took him roughly a half a dozen attempts to come up with a meaningful version. But I should have checked it carefully after being exhausted with the many days and attempts at a decent contract, because there were still mistakes on the contract that worked to his advantage and cost me money. After *he* made a mistake with a quoting me a price on a specific floor that I selected for my finished basement, he couldn't bother to call me and instead sent an email stating I had to either come up with an additional $1,050 dollars or go with a lesser product. I was clear about the floor choice from the beginning and when he first came over to take measurements (prior to any contract), I showed him a sample of the exact floor I wanted installed. The sample had a decal with model, type and color. When he came in person with the drywall subcontractor for wall measurements and with a hard copy contract, I texted him an image of the floor sample decal and followed that with an email of the specifics. When he looked into hiring a floor subcontractor, he later claimed "apparently" the price was different. I reluctantly agreed to the additional cost because I just wanted the work finished, but he didn't respond after almost 2 complete days, so I sent another email stating my displeasure with his lack of communication. He never even owned up to his mistake or apologized and couldn't even acknowledge my agreement to pay the additional amount. He didn't like it when asked for improved clear communication to avoid further issues, setting my expectations of the work and updates going forward. He responded that he didn't need the aggravation and wouldn't tolerate it from me. Joe Szarko (owner of Szarko builders) said he would finish the drywall, refund me $900 and was done with the job after taking an initial payment and starting the work. Ironically, the drywall had been completed the morning of the day prior; the fact that he didn't know drywall was already finished demonstrates my point of not staying on top of the progress. He alone decided what he would refund me, believing he should keep more than 75% of the initial $4,000 payment for 1/4 of the work contracted for. the only work completed was the drywall (lower section of a few walls resurfaced with what amounted to roughly 10 sheets of sheetrock) and he believes that is worth $3,100. I sent him an email that evening stating he was under contract and gave him an opportunity to resolve the issue like adults, but he did not respond. Instead, he called me the next day to berate me, stating he didn't need my bullsh*t, and hung up on me after using profanity and telling me "F*** you". Then he wouldn't return my calls seeking a resolution. When I pursued him for a reasonable resolution and refund, he complained to the police. As a client, you couldn't just breach a contract and decide you no longer wish to honor it anymore, but for some reason, Joe Szarko did just that and walked off the incomplete job. If you want to find yourself a reputable contractor who will follow through and communicate in a timely manner, I suggest you take your time and just do the research. It's your choice to work with him or not - I'm just sharing my experience with the public. At this point in time, my basement is in shambles with no flooring, no door trim and no baseboards.

Very hard to get a hold off, does not respond in a timely fashion. We cancelled the work (ended up renovating a basement) so Turchi Construction lost out on 30K worth of work. Sends contracts through the mail? Customer service practices outdated. Never received contract and left 4 messages in June or July that he hasn't quoted the solar window replacement. Never called back. Would absolutely not recommend unless you have a large project, not interested in the smaller ones. Sorry Rich, this was not good.

We met and discussed what I was looking for and why. He understood that I was trying to close in the back yard for my dog. But then I also shared that I'd like a small patio and and area for grilling, as well as a better way to access the back yard that would be intuitive and pretty. Mr. Schmid came up with ideas that I never would have thought of on my own. He was a pleasure to meet and someone I would highly recommend! I plan to use him next spring to put those ideas in place.

It has gone terrible. Would not recommend to anyone. Initial quote was November 2008 start date was to be December 1, 2008. As of January 6, 2009 job not complete and barely started. For a small bathroom job should be done.
