  • I called on Wednesday 4/18 /18 and left a message, never received a call back. I called again on Monday 4/23/18 just giving a second chance in the event the message was accidentally forgotten about and I received no call back the second time either.

  • Very well - extremely happy with result. Mark recommended the Sherwin Williams Duration paint that looks great and should last a long time. Highly recommend Mark and William from Delaware Green Painters.

  • The crews were terrific.  The cleaned and repaired the deck and siding and then stained it.  They were great to work with.  Very professional and hard working.  The overall job was done as promised and it looks great.

  • Chris and Michael were great. Pleasure to work with. On time each day. Went above and beyond and accommodating my painting choices. They work from 9-4. shorter days than expected; which meant longer to finish total project.

  • The service was excellent. They were extremely conscientious. They came right out and gave an accurate bid. Their prices were right in line with the other bids that we got. They were very nice people to work with and would use them again.

  • I asked Frank Collison (CertaPro franchise owner in Newark, Delaware) to power wash and stain a second-story section of my home exterior that is over my backyard deck. (This job is needed because I am installing a new roof enclosure over the deck and it will become very difficult in the future to paint this part of the home once the roof is installed.)  Frank visited my home and I showed him the deck and pointed out the entire section of cedar siding that I wanted restained. The second-story section is a well-defined area of width ca. 30ft and height one story plus a triangular apex. The section is well delineated by white trim, the end of the house, the bottom of the outcropping story, and a separate protruding turret section of the home. Therefore when I pointed/waved my finger over this entire section of the house siding and used my words describing this entire characteristic area of the house as he was standing next to me, I felt there would be no possible way to misunderstand that I wanted the entire area cleaned and restained. Frank gave me a quote for power washing and staining that specifically specified 2 coats of staining the area over my deck for about $570. I accepted this offer, cut out a section of my home so he could color match the house, and I even provided a small amount of left over stain from previously staining the front of the house. A few days later his crew power washed the entire section, and the next day the crew stained the entire section using the paint I had provided. The next day he emailed me indicating that his crew had painted more than what he had instructed them- he had instructed them to stain only the narrow (16ft wide) section of the second-story that was directly over the deck. I pointed out that his crew had left paint spatter on the deck and on some deck items, but I was otherwise satisfied that they had stained the section of the house I had required. I also pointed out that the estimate did state explicitly that two coats were to be applied. He then offered me a choice of either accepting this one coat as the entire job for the quoted price, or paying for additional work. A few days later he sent an updated quote for roughly 150% more than the original quoted price for an entire second coat (with a nominal discount since I had provided the stain). At this point he completely lost my trust for him as I cannot believe that he actually had the nerve to change the terms of the original proposal. I went ahead and paid the original price for the one coat of stain to end his involvement with my project. He quickly agreed.

  • Overall excellent job!
Jake was prompt in responding to come and provide an estimate for the work. Clearly explained when he thought the work could be scheduled based on the completion of his other jobs, and communicated as his schedule was updated so I knew when he would be on site. He showed up each day on time, was efficient, courteous and kept the area clean. He was on site until the work was completed.

He only took two days to repair the two car garage walls and paint walls and ceiling. When he returned for the next part of the job, he explained that he was going to go back over a small area of the garage that he thought needed a little more attention (I would have never noticed it!)

He repaired several ceiling cracks which required sanding which is always messy. I expected to have a big cleanup after. Jake draped everything and then vacuumed so thoroughly there was very little cleanup for me to do.

While painting the basement stairwell, Jake noticed that the molding on the inside of the cellar door had not been painted so he took care of that as well as painting and replacing the basement handrail.

I would highly recommend Horning Bros. It's a pleasure to work with a contractor who is prompt to respond, shows up when planned, performs high quality work at a reasonable price.

  • From the time we gathered estimates, it became clear that Luis and his team were very detailed, and very through. While they were not the lowest cost company, we chose them based on the process they described, our confidence in them from the way they answered each question, and the many good reviews they already received. Outside of a few minor communication issues the first few days of their work, the process was very smooth. They arrived when they said they would, and the crew was extremely professional. Following the initial scraping/power washing/caulking process, a supervisor spent an hour inspecting the work and recommending small fixes before they applied the paint to the siding. The next day (on a Sunday, no less) Luis himself spent two hours performing the same inspection. At the same time, they were flexible enough to work with our schedules and changing preferences Luis brought samples for the front door three separate times before we finally selected a color. In the end, they saved us from the worries usually associated with a contractor: they showed up exactly when they said they would; they finished the job exactly in line with the estimated time frame Luis provided up front, and best of all, the house looks terrific. I would gladly use them again.
