"Overall great job. Answered my questions about up-charges beyond standard colors before purchase. They made an appointment after we purchased the deal and came" out and confirmed size and color (which ended up being a really close match to the rest of the house). They then came back and Installed a new granite countertop and back splash in our office. They were very conscientious about our back wall not being completely straight and asked about it before installing the back splash. Job looks great and really finished off the new cabinets in our office.

"
was our sales person, she was extremely helpful through the whole process. She assisted us in finding the product that my wife and I both" agreed on which is a challenge in itself. She came to the house and measured and came in under the price that she originally estimated in the store based on approximate square footage.
assisted in making this process a pleasurable experience. The crews that came to the house were very nice, they did not talk much but boy did they do an amazing job!! We are extremely happy with our new flooring and our experience with

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
?
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.

Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

My husband and I just bought a house and are looking to replace the carpet in the main floor of our home. We had gotten a previous estimate for carpeting and Empire was the second company to come and measure and give us an estimate. The saleswoman was very nice and knowledgeable, but the "policy" of how they do business makes no sense. The saleswoman measured our home and then showed us different options for carpet. We chose a few that we liked and that's where it got weird. She gave us "her" best price, which was $2000 over the estimate we'd received from the first company. She then said she had to "call her manager" to see if he could do any better. The first person she called would only go down to $3700 and "only if we signed
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
." The second person wouldn't answer. Then the third person would match our first estimate "only if we signed
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
." We made it perfectly clear that we only wanted an estimate and were no where near ready to make a decision. Not to mention, their guarantee says they'll beat any price, but they would only match our first estimate even though the carpet we picked with them was lower quality than the carpet we picked with the first company. All and all, we felt very pressured. We simply wanted an estimate not to participate in a bunch of games.

The day of the original installation in 2006, I came home from work to find the main floor of our home a mess. The installer had chosen to cut the granite in the kitchen rather than outside in his truck. This was not some minor cutting that could be required but a major cut. There was granite dust everyone on the main floor. It was on the bookshelves (both top and bottom of shelves) and everywhere the dust could end up. It took my wife and I hours of work to clean up the mess and the
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
rep we complained to essentially shrugged his shoulders. The installer then told us the granite he cut for the master bath was not going to work and blamed us for having a “non standard” counter frame that was 3” in depth too short. He blamed it on us. When I reminded him that he had made a trip to our house and made templates of all the sinks he didn’t have much to say. In addition to this issue with the granite, the tile installer was surly because it took

farther longer than

anticipated the remove the old vinyl floor in 3 of the 4 rooms that he was installing the tile floors in. When working in the kitchen, he sat his paste can in the new stainless steel sink leaving round rings from where he would turn the can to get the paste. We complained to the

rep about all of this and he simply said the tell the installers what they were doing wrong. These were his subs, not ours.
In

of 2015 we discovered a full split in the granite behind the

top. The granite was not supposed to split and we called

My counter tops were installed last Monday (
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
20th).
My wife was at home and found the installers to be very rude.
The dishwasher was installed not level. This was caused by a reinforcing support for the granite pushing the dishwasher over. After having the plumbing connected, the dishwasher leaked water all over my floor. I called Sunday (
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
26th) and was told that the installers would call me back. As of Wednesday (
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
29th) they haven't.
I am completely unsatisfied with the work performed.
Also, the counter top is about 1/2 shorter that the one being replaced and the gap is very noticeable.
I will have to have come carpentry work done to fill the gap.
Even further, the back splash on the secretary area was rounded at a different angle than the counter itself.
We recently noticed that paint samples are sliding down behind the back splash, which indicates that the back slash was not installed properly.

This is the second job that United has done for me in my home. Top shelf! From the estimate to the clean-up I continue to be impressed. I had water damage in my basement due to a faulty icemaker line and decided to replace the carpet with vinyl tile. The estimate was fair and the installers started on time and had full run of the house for two days. Had it not been for the new floor, I would have never known they were there! Neat, clean and trustworthy. Well done. Highly recommend.

When I complained to the foreman on the job about the dust hurting my lungs, he told me to "grow up!" (I am 68 years old!) A call to the development company who ordered the work was not helpful.
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
gave an excuse that was completely illogical. First she said the
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
was supposed to take only about 2 hours and that they wanted to put the sealant on in the evening when customers would not be present. If this were true, why couldn't the
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
also be done in the evening and then the sealant added? She said no tenant had complained which is not what one tenant told me. I will be reporting this company to

Air Quality Control, referred there by

D.E.P. I would not recommend this company as they are rude and showed little concern for protecting other people's lungs.

They tore up old tile-2 levels and sub-flooring. Then put down hardwood and made it fit with trim. They moved door frames to save me money.

Estimate performed, including all measuring, discussion about removal and sub floor plus final floors, molding and finish work. This was followed by e mail itemized estimate. Upon acceptance, install date was set.
Moduleo snap click flooring was chosen. Same as the other areas done. This time, entrance way (wood), closet (carpet), and laundry (vinyl) were removed;. This included all screw down OSB.
Plywood installed and sealed at areas of possible water penetration. This Belgium made floor is also used in produce areas of grocery stores.
Door removed and replaced with updated pre hung door. Shimmed, fire retardant foam added. Molding re fitted and heavy screws used to properly anchor the hinges to the opening.
All areas cleaned and scrap hauled away. All this was done in one day. Positive attitude, smiles, and firm handshake. Even a THANK YOU FOR THE BUSINESS.
NEW NAME is MX Flooring. Phone number is the same 360 921 0041 in Vancouver WA.

We spent about 2 months researching a vendor for installation of wood flooring in the first floor of our home. We spoke to (at least 5) vendors, from surplus to premier, and finally settled on
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
. They were not the least expensive by any stretch, but I was very comfortable with our salesman's (
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
) no-pressure approach and was sold on the quality of their installation team.
The company was fairly responsive in general, even providing a $150 refund when
Lake Ariel Flooring Contractors Provider Name Locked
could not make an appointment due to inclement weather during the Spring ice storms. Scheduling was prompt and the office kept us informed as to what the process was and followed up before our install.
My only real issues were with the installation and follow-up. The actual installation looks great and our installer seemed to be very deliberate and conscientious. I had several minor issues, however. 1) The transition strips in several of the areas where I have existing tile are not level and "tilt" up a little bit, you can feel it when you step on them. It appears that the wood flooring is slightly lower than the tile. 2) When the installation team removed the baseboards in our master bedroom they placed the baseboard on top of our new bed, causing the nails from the basedboard to scratch the bed in 4 places. 3) the installation did most of their work in our empty garage and appeared to clean up all traces of any work they completed. However, a few days later after I had pulled my car back into the garage I discovered that I had a flat tire and that several of the baseboard nails had been left in the garage.
I called the company after the install and described the issues I had and spoke to the Installation Manager. He asked me to send pictures of the issues that I had (including the damage to the bed), which I did. I didn't hear back from him. The company called about two weeks later to "survey" my satisfaction with the job. I indicated the problems that I had (again) and was told that someone would contact me within 24 hours to address the issues. That was about 3 weeks ago and I have not heard back from them since.
In general I am happy with the project, but as I have indicated it was not "perfect" and I am on the fence as to if I a going to use this company for my future flooring needs.
