Deck And Porch reviews in Jim Thorpe

The work looked great for the first 5 1/2 years. Then we noticed boards starting to stick up on top of the deck. I went under the deck to investigate, and found several of the pieces of framing to be dry rotted. It was so bad, that one of the cross supports crumbled to dust. It was obvious pressure treated wood was not used. I have called them several times, but no calls have been returned. It's obvious they are trying to brush this issue under the rug. I strongly recommend you do not use this company!!

AJ Window and Door Solutions Inc
This was my first time hiring a contractor and I learned a lot.  First, ask a lot of questions (it helps if you know what questions you should be asking); and hire someone who lives in your area so the subcontractor can start work early and work a full day.  It also helps if they are familiar with your local codes so work does not need to be redone. My subcontractor had to stay at a nearby hotel and would arrive at different times to start and leave at different times each day.  I had expected the worker(s) to give a full day's work each day and work at least 5 days a week.  This was not the case.  Several times, he did not show for work at all and I had to call the owner to find out why. This was all very frustrating.  Finally, after many complaints, the owner sent another worker to finish the work.  Again, had a problem with worker showing up when he was expected.  All in all, this project took 3 months to complete - some of the delay was because of weather but, I believe, a lot was caused by poor time management. I spent a lot of time sitting around waiting for someone to show up and work to be done.  Some of the finished work is not satisfactory, but because of my frustration, I did not want to deal with them any longer and will have someone else finish.  Trim work around the windows was not included in the contract, which was not explained to me at the time of the estimate (I did not know enough to ask and was not told it would not be included). The subcontractor would have done the extra work for me, at additional cost, but because I was tired of dealing with all the frustration, I will have someone else do the work and, hopefully, clean up some of the other work.

    Sure-Fix Remodeling
the only stumbling block was in the very beginning when henry had to push back the start date of the project by one week - but that was due to the bad weather we'd been having and all projects got pushed back.
henry is just wonderful to deal with as a general contractor.  he's personable, funny, reasonable, intelligent and most importantly listens to you and will work with you when dealing with issues that arise instead of just ignoring or arguing with you.  case in point - when the deck stair railings on two sets of steps were not done the way we wanted, we expressed our concerns to henry and the next time we were at the house saw that he had had both steps totally redone to our complete satisfaction.  and i don't think there was any adjustment in price.
both my husband and i think henry is fantastic and recommend him and sure-fix highly.  the work they do is top-notch.

He is a great guy. I use him for everything. He does a good job he doesn’t do anything half way. When I ask him to do something, he won’t do it unless he knows he can do it. And he usually does a really good job.
