Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • Horrible! I could write a book on this place. I wish that I read these reviews before I did business with them. I am a former small business owner and understand the struggles and try to give small businesses my business when possible. The owner of this company has changed my mind forever. He is, without a doubt, the most annoying person that I have ever met. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and money and go straight to Home Depot or Lowe's. You will pay much more for every item in his store, you will pay high shipping prices for every item (the shipping on the flooring was more than the cost of the floor), and you will have to sign a contract (to cover his you know what). I purchased a very expensive multi-color tile from this store to be an accent to my white tile. I received a telephone call when it came in and they said that the original tile was discontinued and what they sent was a little different than what I ordered. When I spoke to the owner he said it was the same tile but a different run. I ordered multi-colored tile, I received white tile. So they wanted me to put white tile with my white tile. The owner would not acknowledge that it wasn't the tile that I ordered. He just kept saying that it was a different run and the color will be different in different runs. I completely understand about runs and color variances, this was not the same tile. It was obviously a mistake on their part and I fully expected to just get my money back. But he insisted it was a custom order and there were no returns on custom orders. Well, it wasn't what I custom ordered. He kept saying that he had to eat the cost of it. Anyway, he decided to let me choose another tile to replace it. I had gone out and bought something else to use from the Tile Store in the meantime. Since he wouldn't refund my money and I hated the tile that I received I chose another tile. My designer said that I would owe $16.05 because this tile was little more expensive. I wasn't happy about it but I agreed to pay it. When I went to the store to pay for it, the owner was waiting for me ready for a fight. I went up to him and introduced myself and he spat at me "I know who you are!" When I tried to pay for the tile he said that I also owe him shipping on the new tile. I tried to show him on the sample board that the tile I ordered and the tile that I received were two entirely different tiles. They had different product numbers and were actually on the same sample board together. He refused to even look at it. I ended up leaving the store and calling the designer I worked with. Since I liked the designer that I was working with I would have used her for other projects in my house. After dealing with him I will never spend another penny in that store. He didn't have to eat anything, I know that the vendor would have taken the tile back and he charged enough for it that he didn't lose a thing on it. I would have loved to take him to court and prove him wrong, but the amount wasn't high enough, he made this big fuss over $40. He is a very foolish person.

  • Mike showed up on time both days.   He was meticulous and knowledgeable about how to redo my bathroom.  He was more than willing to answer any questions I had along the way and went the extra mile and stayed late to finish the job as scheduled.  I would highly recommend him and use him again for any home improvement projects.

  • I was very impressed and would highly recommend him.  Bill was very knowledgeable regarding the scope of work to be done. He arrived on time and started working on the floor replacement.  He was meticulous about keeping the job area clean and made sure the ceramic tile floor and toilet were re-installed properly.  He also called a week later to ensure I was satisfied and that there were no issues.    It's very hard to find handymen or contractors who you feel are very qualified and yet reasonably priced.     I would definitely contact him again for any future home project needs.

  • I had an appt for 2:00 pm. They called in the middle of the week and changed it to 3:00pm. They never showed up until almost 5:00. I had to keep calling the store to find out where they were. I told her that I should have been notified that they were running behind in their other jobs. Once they finally got there, they lifted up one of the counters and put a gouge in my oak drawer. The one guy was upset, the older one just waived it off as if it was no big deal. I called the company back again and told them I wanted compensated for the drawer and my time. I sent a picture of the drawer and they took $100 off of my costs. They also gave me the cutting board for free. (the edges were to be polished for $50). When they brought the largest piece in, the shop had incorrectly put a bullnose edge on the side that faces the refrigerator so the countertop didn't fit. I called them back again and told them about it, they compensated me for the amt of granite that had to be removed to make it fit. Fortunately they could remove the edge on site, unfortunately they had to do it in my garage as it was raining. They made somewhat of an attempt to sweep the granite dust off of one side of the garage, but my garage was a disaster, with so much dust in my boots, shoes, gardening supplies, gears of our bikes, tools, etc. They did a great job getting it to fit. When they were drilling the holes for faucet, they left the box cutter on the counter and it fell off with the vibration blade first into my laminate floor.  I did not get compensated for that. They tried to give me the cutting board without the polished edges. I told him they were to be polished and he said he wasn't going to do it. I had to get my husband to make him do it.  I am pretty sure that these poor guys were so exhausted from having to fix all of the mistakes that were made at the shop, that they were making errors at my house. There is definitely a communication gap, at least for our order, but seeing how long it took them to install, and fix the mistakes on our kitchen, and ours was a small project relatively speaking, I can only imagine that is what put them behind to arrive at our house so late. They finally left my house at 7:30. It was not a pleasant experience at all, especially for the amount of money spent on this. The end result is very beautiful, except I cannot get my off of the gouge in my drawer.

  • I like that they were one on one, walks you through the whole step up to deciding what would work for you.  We actually used them when we had a pipe burst in the wall because they came out.  They readjusted someone's schedule because we had to have our water all turned off.  So, we had no water, so they readjusted someone's schedule so he could come and work on ours right away.  It was very good of them.

  • I had called Moore when our original contractor appeared to have abandoned our bathroom remodel project before it began. All the tile, fixtures, etc. had been ordered at this point - we just needed someone to come and perform the work. Dan Moore came over within a couple days of calling to take a look at the scope of work and provided us with an estimate the next day, which was incredible. Dan is very personable, knowledgable and professional, and his estimate was very thorough.
While we ended up going with our original contractor when he reappeared, I would definitely call Moore in the future for any other remodel projects!

  • Left a message in early June regarding a two-bathroom remodel. Never heard from the company. We live two towns over from this contractor, so had hoped to have someone in the local area at least call us back, even if they would not have been able to perform the work.

  • We arrived a few minutes before our scheduled appointment. After an hour and increasingly awkward conversation with the manager, we gave up on waiting for our design consultant to free up from the appointment that was shoe horned in front of ours. Our feeling was if they can't respect our time when they are trying to earn our business, what will happen when they have it? They did call shortly after we walked out to apologize, but they should have taken care of that while we there.

  • The project went well.  It was to be a basic bathroom remodel which ended up more like a full remodel due to me wanting to add new lighting and the small surprise of finding out that the old flooring did not go under the vanity.  Mike adjusted for this. The start of the project involved Mike and his crew repairing the drywall and removing the trim and door. The wall and trim painting was next.   He then replaced the exhaust fan, added the new lighting, and replaced the vanity lighting.   By that time, the special-order flooring was in.  It took Mike and his assistant one day to put down the flooring, put up the trim and door, put in the toilet and sink and finish up any other tasks.  What a transformation.  The room looks great.  And the craftsmanship of Mike and his crew was well above average.  Mike was easy to work with and did not get annoyed when I changed the scope of the project or accidentally throw out the drain pipe and had to run to the store to purchase a new one.   He worked the entire day through and remained focused until the job was completed.  Mike and his crew always cleaned up after themselves.  He was neat and used drop clothes to protect the flooring around the work area.  I will use Mike again and I strongly recommend his services based on my experience.

  • I needed some sticking doors fixed and wanted to customize the kitchen and powder room in my new townhouse. I was able to do the painting on my own but the rooms still lacked character. I saw 1 inch glass tiles used in kitchen and bathroom makeovers on HGTV and wanted to try that in my kitchen but everyplace I found locally wanted an arm and a leg for the tiles and installation. I finally found the tiles online for a reasonable price but then needed someone to put them up as I have no tile installation skills. Greg never did glass tiles before but was willing to give it a shot and the end result is beautiful. He also added lovely crown molding at a reasonable price. The work was excellent, on time and all was clean and shiny when Greg finished. I love the look of my new kitchen.
