    Shope, Dr. Timothy
He went through the old scar tissue on the left side. A nicked a vein and that caused hemorrhaging. They knew I was hemorrhaging because they had to give me blood. From 10am on October 30th, until 2pm on October 31st I was left lying in the operating room. At about 5:30am I heard the nurses call him and tell him that I was still hemorrhaging. It wasn't until 10:00am on October 31st that he returned and took me back to surgery. Then had to put a port in to drain the blood from my abdomenal cavity. They had to change it several times because it continued to fill up. The nurses weren't checking the port and I wound up just laying there in a pool of my blood. I had to start ringing the buzzer every time it got 3/4 full so the nurses would come change it. I could see clots coming out into the port. On October 31st, he eventually found the hemorrhage and evacuated the clot. I was in the hospital for 8 days after the surgery. He came in during that time and admitted it was his fault that the surgery had gone wrong. He said I did need to have my gall bladder removed and then he said that the reason for the second surgery was his fault, and then he made a joke saying " I never usually make mistakes, you can ask my wife." I didn't appreciate this because I was more concerned about my condition. The 1st surgery was on a Thursday, the second was on Friday. On Saturday, he visited and admitted it was his fault. He then returned on Monday and told me I could start having solid food and didn't return again until Wednesday. On Wednesday, the port was still filling up and he said that maybe the clips he put in had failed. I had to ask him HIDA scan, he didn't even offer it. As soon as they did it, they saw that the clips had failed and that fluid was leaking from the Common Bowl Duct. They did an endoscopy and were able to repair the leak immediately. At this point, the fluid finally quit draining at such an alarming speed. Meanwhile, they were running tests on me constantly. I think that some of the blood that he left in my abdominal cavity was coming out with the fluid from the bowl duct. I had to continue to wash and maintain the JP Port for about 2 weeks after I left the hospital. He had the nerve to send me a bill for the 20% that medicare didn't cover, even though it was his fault. I told the billing department that I wasn't going to pay it, because it was due to his error that I had to have the second surgery. They then offered me a charity application, I filled that out and they lowered the rate. They still say that I owe them over $1,000.00, but I am not paying it. I have several illnesses and I am disabled and he knew this. My other doctors have paid close attention to my health after surgery because of all of my different illnesses. About 1-2 months after the surgery, the hernia popped back out so I am going to have to have that part of the surgery fixed again.
