    Steve Daly (General Contractor)
My husband liked him immediately after spending a few hours discussing what we needed and wanted done. We got to know Steve rather well in the approximately two months time he was working for us. Steve is incredibly knowledgeable, and answered our bombardment of questions. He is a perfectionist and takes pride in his work. He kept us informed every step of the way. He always returned our calls and Texts and rather quickly. He did demolition on old moisture damaged walls and replaced them. Built several other walls and a 6x7 closet. Moved a utility closet door. Installed several new doors, including a pocket door. Some walls that my husband had built years prior, were uneven. Steve was able to use his amazing carpentry skills to even the opening for the door to hang perfectly and the moulding to look perfect as well. He installed Vinyl plank flooring, sheet rock ceiling in the garage and drop ceiling throughout the rest. He installed all the window and door trim and floor moulding. There is a lot more that he did and he did it all well. Everything Steve did for us came out beautiful.

    Universal Plumbing Heating & Mechanical
This is one of the worst companies to do business with. John is an arrogant, nasty, demeaning individual who we used a couple of times. The only reason we continued with him was because our well pump, which he installed, was still under warranty and after one and a half years it stopped working altogether. He made us wait a couple of days before coming out and when he did show up his equipment broke and he wanted us to pay for a crane to come out and raise the pump back up. We said that this should be his responsibility especially due to the fact that he broke his own equipment and the pump was under warranty. He, being his usual grossly unpleasant self refused. Another company came to fix the problem. They were extremely professional and we are glad that things turned well (no pun intended). WE WILL NEVER USE UNIVERSAL PLUMBING HEATING & MECHANICAL AGAIN!!!!!!!

    PTS Plumbing, Heating and AC
I had just moved into my house in Dec 2014. The house had sat for a few years and I had no records for past maintenance. My heat pump was freezing up so I got a referral from a friend. A guy came out and worked on the system with a final recommendation to rezone the system down to one zone and that would take care of the freezing. I bought into it but hadn't scheduled it yet. In the meantime my water heater stopped heating and the guy who told be to rezone my heatpump wasnt' available so I called PTS. I told Pete about the heat pump problem and the recommendation. He took a quick look and showed me that there was a second filter the other guy didn't find. We took it out, he showewd me how dirty the filter was (totally blocked) and explaianed why it could be causing the freezing and also why it would make my bill so high. He did not trash talk the other guy beacuse he missed it, he was professional. Needless to say, I had PTS back to do the yearly maintenance and my heating bill this year is less than half. I can say I'm actually grateful my water heater needed service or I may have made a big mistake with the heat pump. Thanks Pete.

Integrity plumbing heating a/c & home improvement
The work was completed to my expectation.  I was having problems with flooding when I realize the pump I had installed 4 years prior was to weak to handle the water from a major storm.  I brough new sump pumps .75 hp and 8400 rpm/hour gallon water removal to replace .25 hp sump pumps.  I no longer have problems with flooding due to the weather.

    Pocono Mountain Plumbing & Heating
This is my second review of this company.  Just like my first experience with Pocono Mountain Plumbing,  Bob definitely came through for us again.  We needed an emergency call when we discovered we had no water on the morning of 7/16/14.  One call to Bob and I was assured that even though he was in the middle of a big job, he would make sure he got to us before the end of the day so that we could have water.
Good to his word, he and his assistant showed up around 4:00 PM and informed me that since he had done the work on our new well pump 2 1/2 years ago, he was going to stand behind the work he had done.  We did have a one year warranty, but Bob being Bob didn't think that was fair,so he offered to take responsibility for anything that involved his work. You heard me, HE WAS WILLING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS WORK.
Bob and Ronnie found the problem right away, discovering that some of the wires had become frayed, but they didn't stop there. Bob decided to pull the entire length of tubing and wiring in our well to make sure there were  no other problems. No big deal right?  Our well is 400 ft plus and they pulled out every inch checking for damage the whole way.  Bob also decided to sanitize our well while he was here. Just another little perk that this man thinks about when he is working for you.
Just as Bob and Ronnie was putting everything back in place, a hissing sound was detected. Yup, sure enough there was a tiny little hole in the brass fitting that couples with the underground piping back to the house.  Ironically, this was the exact kind of job Bob was doing earlier in the day, requiring a backhoe for the repair.  I guess Bob saw the look on my face and realized we just weren't prepared for that kind of expense. (We are retired and on a fixed income)  He told me not  to worry that he would be able to do something that would give us a temporary fix.  He couldn't guarantee how long it would work, but he knew we would have enough time to manage our budget  enabling us to be able to afford the permanent repair. As he said, "it might work for six weeks or six months, but for now you're good to go"
I don't know many contractors  who would put the needs of their customers before their own best interest, but Bob is just that kind of person and business man. The total bill for the work, they were here for 2 1/2 hours, was $655, BUT Bob gave us a $200 discount.  This, I know, was done out of compassion for our situation at the moment.  Again, if you know a better businessman, a more professional businessman and more compassionate businessman, then call him when you need a plumber,  But if you don't know a plumber like that, and I doubt that you do, call Bob.  You will never regret it.
Thanks, Bob.  You know we are your loyal customers for life.

    F/J Hess & Sons Inc
Joey came and unclogged a toilet for us. The plunger couldn't handle it, so I called the professionals. I made sure that it was a regular (non-emergency) call as the emergency fee is significantly higher. It makes sense, but if it's not an emergency then wait and make a regular call. I called at 4:15 and it would've been an "emergency" call, so I scheduled for the next day. He came by at 9. The regular fee for them to come out was 49.50. It was an additional 79.00 to unclog the toilet with the giant auger. Joey was friendly and efficient. He expressed to me exactly what the problem was and fixed it quickly! Thanks! Would call again.

    Gotta Go Septic
The appointment was scheduled between 8-12.  At 12 no one had come so I called the office and they said he should be there in 15 minutes to 1 hr.  When he did get there everything was fine.  Lucky I didn't have anything else to do that day.

    Maitz Home Services Inc
We got an independent furnace cleaner from out of our area to look at it.  When he did he was astonished at how dirty the inner workings were and stated there was no way it had properly cleaned in November or the previous year for that matter.  He went so far to say we should take Maitz to court for breach of contract.  We chose not to do that because we are not litigious by nature.
Since then Economy Oil has cleaned our furnace last year and this year and it is running cleaner then it ever has and hasn't shut down once.
We felt completely swindled by Maitz and when I confronted them with these facts they refunded the $60 service call and allowed me to cancel my service contract immediately.  The manager didn't admit wrong doing but he didn't put up any kind of defense either.
I will never use Maitz again and I certainly wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

    Pocono Mountain Plumbing & Heating

We had Bob Walter of Pocono Mountain Plumbing return to our home on January 4th to complete the job of replacing our well pump for us.  Bob had given us an estimate of $1545. to $1745 to replace the pump in our 400 ft well.  As promised, Bob and his assistant showed up and began the tedious task of pulling up all 400 feet of well housing.  Much to his horror, and ours, he discovered that the original plumber that did our well work had installed a 1/2 HP  plastic housing pump.  No wonder we couldn't get more than 8 years out of it.  However, as will happen, Bob also discovered that the wiring in our well also needed replacing.  He suggested that the 12 gauge wire needed to be replaced with 10 gauge wire to accommodate the new pump.  Price:   $700.

So here's the breakdown of Bob's work:   Pull out old well pump, replace with 1 HP Stainless Steel well pump complete with fittings. Replace wire with 10 gauge wire from pump to top of well.  Install wire guards.  (We only had two for 400 ft).  Flush out well.  Sanitize well.    TOTAL COST:  $2330.00
                                                                            .

Considering that another plumber had wanted $2400 just for the pump replacement and $1200 if the wire needed to be replaced, I think we got a fair price and excellent work from Pocono Mountain Plumbing.  They were fast, efficient, considerate and  neat.  You can't go wrong dealing with this reputable company.
