    Tait Construction
Mike Tait is awesome! My wife and I were expecting our first child and wished to convert our sunroom to a family room before our little one arrived. In May, I contacted several providers through Angies List and although we met with four other contractors we choose Mike. Mike's estimate was not the lowest; however, we felt most comfortable with him given his personality, in-depth
knowledge and candidness. Our existing "sunroom" was a drab room consisting of an uneven concrete floor, non-insulated walls, and dated windows. Also in the room was a gutter for our rear addition which the previous owner decided to place within the room. Mike gave us a detailed proposal and work got started in July. Mike was a great communicator and kept us updated about the status of the job via e-mail. He also notified us promptly once surprises (e.g. rotten beams) popped up. When these surprises emerged, Mike would tell us how we could cut things out in order to save money (e.g. reduce the number of windows with bigger windows in order to reduce cost). The job was completed in September and we are extremely pleased with everything.  Mike will definitely be the first person we contact for all of our future contracting needs. He is everything that contractors should strive to be!

    Archadeck of Chester County
After searching for a reliable company to repair my screened-in-porch, I stumbled upon Archadeck of Chester County. Juan Cardona came out to the house on our appointment day and was earlier than expected. He was professional, respectful and looked at the porch while trying to not disturb what my family had going on inside. He was courteous to get all of his measurements for an estimate with minimal disruption to us. The estimate was a little higher than what my wife and I were able to afford but Juan worked with us to see how we could lower the cost with various options to be a little more manageable. Right away, I felt like he was not trying to get as much money out of me as possible.  On both days of work, Juan and his company were there early. Never mind on time, but they came in at least 15 minutes early each day.  After agreeing to completely replace the wood framing and porch door, Juan promptly communicated an issue to me with the knee high wall that we were going to leave and build upon.  He showed me how the wall was not salvageable and he and his workman suggested various options to extend the screen to the bottom of the concrete slab and put up a railing in order to comply with code.  He sent me a picture to see what we could expect and revised his estimate keeping in mind the constrained budget my wife and I had.  The work was done in a day and a half, it looked exceptional and my wife and I couldn't be happier with the work that Juan and his company did.  It basically is a brand new screened-in-porch wrapped in vinyl for minimal up-keep.  I even had random questions on how to make the concrete slab underneath look a little nicer and Juan was always courteous to answer with suggestions or advice when possible.  At the end of the project, I told him that I wished they didn't just do decks and porches because I was so impressed with their work ethic, professionalism and attention to detail and would have used them for everything I needed to fix.

    Tait Construction
We had previously used Tait Construction for a kitchen facelift and installation of replacement windows.  Mike and his crew did a fantastic job on those projects so we had no reservations about using Tait Construction for our sunroom.  Mike met with us several times during the design stage and offered great suggestions about material and finishes.  Mike was very accommodating to material upgrades and minor changes during the construction process.  He was always quick to respond to phone calls and emails.  The timeline was longer than estimated, but we weren't too concerned since the sunroom wasn't a necessity like a kitchen or bath.  We are once again totally satisfied with the quality of work and thrilled with the final product.

Manfredia's Carpentry & General Contracting, LLC
We had an excellent experience with Manfredia Carpentry starting with the bidding process.  Wally (the owner of the company) came out to do the estimate himself.  He was punctual, professional, kind, and very patient.  This was our first renovation project so we had a lot of questions.  Even before he received the signed contract, Wally answered all of our questions and even came out again to clarify our heating options.
The contract/quote was very detailed about the work to be done (down to the number of paint coats he would apply to the walls)!
Once the contract was awarded, the work started on time as promised.  Wally uses his own team for everything except electrical and carpeting.  He works closely  with electrical and carpeting companies so everything was well coordinated and seamless from my perspective.
At the end of each work day the job site was clean and neat and I received a report on progress.  A rarity among contractors!
The communication was outstanding.  I was the primary contact and I was kept in the loop on the timing of the upcoming project stages and promptly advised of any delays to the time line or daily work schedule (e.g.due to weather or delays in product delivery). Unfortunately, our job was happening during the unusually rainy October and November.   So, though no fault of Wally's, our work was completed 1 month later than estimated.
We did have several change orders as the work progressed (e.g. we substituted french doors for the initially scoped solid door).  Wally accommodated our requests and gave timely/accurate quotes for the additional work. One of our change orders was for electrical work verbally discussed but not specifically outlined in the contract.  Though at the end of the project,  we were pleased that Wally accommodated our request to have the work done.  With experience comes wisdom, however, and next time we will make sure that everything discussed is in writing so that there are no surprises on either end.
At final inspection, Wally and my husband walked through our remaining punch list of items and he took care of them for us.  He also promised to come back in the spring once it had warmed up to address any issues that arose during the cold winter months.
I give Manfredia Carpentry an A++ and plan to work with them again in the future.  We love our renovated porch and wholeheartedly recommend Manfredia Carpentry!

    Thomas Tyler Construction
Dominic presented several working options for  replacing our   screened porch.  He included  a choice of materials and the estimated costs.  Once  we decided to have the work done, he and his team  came out and measured  for proper fit .    They did an excellent  job   taking down  and carting off the old materials and  left the work area  spotless each day.  They  put up the new  enclosure in a matter of days . They were  very exacting, and  made sure the screens, windows and door were installed properly.  They did a  great job, and we've gotten many complements on the  new enclosure!

Hire dRemodeling now! If you are sick and tired of contractors that don't show up, do crappy work, change the price on you at the last minute and are downright rude, then dRemodeling is your dream contractor. We hired them based on Angie's list reviews and we were so pleased to find that they lived up to all of the hype. The job started in November and, due to delays in some of the materials that we selected, the job didn't finish up completely until February. Had everything been on time, dRemodeling would have been done much earlier than that. So here's the top 10 reasons to hire this company. 1. They show up when they say they will! Like clockwork for months, they arrived at 8am sharp and left at 5pm. That is very rare with contractors. 2. Pricing is all based on labor - you buy materials (other than studs, outlets etc.). This is great because a lot of contractors up their price by upping the price on the materials. This creates a great dynamic where it's in their best interest to help you find the best price on product because they don't make any money from it. Dan Dragomir (owner and project manager), negotiated our kitchen cabinets and tile selection prices for us and saved us thousands after he saw the price we were quoted originally. Find a contractor that will do that for you! 3. Friendly team - if you're gonna practically live with these guys for a few months, at least you hope they are nice. The guys were all very nice to my 3 kids and my wife at all times and never once disrespected them. I've had other contractors that treated my wife like something out of a 50's film and were chauvinistic jerks. Not dRemodeling...class act all of the way. The team is highly efficient and knocks out work quickly. 4. High quality work - these guys don't cut corners! They are very proud of their work and are very picky and will fix things that you didn't even notice. Dan, the owner, makes sure to stop by often to inspect the work and makes sure every detail is in place and exactly perfect or it's done over. I really appreciated this as someone that has had corners cut by other contractors. 5. Keep the job site clean - every time they left, their tools and materials were always neatly stacked and covered and they vacuumed every day before they left to clean up the dust. 6. Good sub contractors (electrical) - their electrician was excellent and, even though not a member of the core team, they really felt like they followed all of the same rules and high standards that Dan's own team follows. Arrived on time and always did professional work. 7. Pricing is fair - dRemodeling is not the cheapest contractor you will find, his quote was actually in the middle of all of the quotes we got, but with all of the other factors considered, it was well worth the additional cost. What good is a cheaper up front price if the quality you get is terrible and you have to hire another contractor like Dan to clean up the mess?? 8. Follows local code/ordinances - Amazing, a contractor that actually will buy a permit! This is something a lot of contractors "should" do but don't because it eats into their profit. Dan didn't build the cost into his bill, he told me the exact cost and asked me if I wanted to pay. Of course I did because I've been burned in the past by contractors doing below-code work and then having to pay to have someone fix it. Never again! All permits were legit and posted and gave me peace of mind that quality was being monitored by my township. 9. The owner is the project manager for your job - there are 2 important points here...they actually have a project manager meaning you don't have to do it and that person is the owner. No having to go back to anyone for approval to make a change in the project...Dan says it goes, it goes. It's very nice to have someone moving the project along, ensuring dates are hit, and ensuring you as the customer are making decisions on materials in a timely fashion so they can keep on track. Dan is also a helpful with issues with materials, like a tub that was too large or a sink that was too big. He assisted with returns with the online stores (fyi - if I had to do it again, I would not purchase large items online...go to a local's a major pain to return things online) and helped us get return fees waived. 10. Flexible with customer demands - towards the end of the project we started dreaming up other changes to make to our living space particularly in our living room. New hardwood floors were necessary to make our open floor plan look the best it could. Then we wanted a new front door, then we wanted recessed lighting, then we wanted an updated fireplace, then we wanted new stairs, then we wanted our flooring to continue up to our hallway. The list goes on and on and Dan was always accommodating on price and fit in all of the work into our project with all of the other projects he had going on with other customers. If you've read this far, then you know it's a no-brainer decision. With this much money on the line, don't cheap out and save yourself a few thousand bucks with a one man show, that will take forever, probably show up 50% of the time, do shoddy work, laugh at the thought of buying a permit and will conveniently have a disconnected phone number when you try to reach them 2 months later when their work starts to fall apart on you. You can't sue someone that you can't find! (learned this the hard way with a roofer a few years back!). Best of luck to you - hire them - you won't regret it! David Miller

West Chester Design & Build LLC
We met Chris through our daughter and so we trusted him to do our work, even though it was our first time using him. His prices are competitive and he can make good suggestions for home improvements if you are interested. He usually does much larger jobs (like building houses) so we were glad he was able to squeeze us in. He really seems willing to take on many different projects and home improvement projects.

    JRL Design Inc
We called for an estimate and they repsonded promptly. Jim submitted an estimate and we worked through the design together. Jim had us out to his workshop so we could see, firsthand, the type of craftsmanship they produce. We were very impressed with Jim and his staff. We worked with them closely as the design developed and we are very happy with the end result.
