    O'Neill Fence Co
Through the winter two posts began to lean, appeared to have been caused by wind. Contacted Pat O'Neill and he said he would send someone out in spring after the ground thawed. Someone came out in March and reset the posts, I watched them tamp them with the back end of a shovel, but the post was stable. We were also looking at to have a deck installed and asked O'Neill for a price which we never received. Fast forward two months same post starts leaning again and both gates were sticking. In addition as we began to actually use the gate to get the lawn mower in. Only way to get through the gate was to open both sides, because the side that would normally be used as a person gate could only be opened about 30 degrees before it would bind to the post. We also began to have issues on the opposite side of the yard. It took 7 calls and my wife driving to their company yard twice to get them to send someone out. They came out on the day of my daughter's graduation party. Blamed the opposite posts (3 were very loose) on "wash out" from sump pump discharge. I dropped a Johnson bar 18" into the hole and said "I don't think so". They proceeded to gather dirt to back fill those three posts and threw unmixed sacrete into the original posts that had issues saying it would help stiffen the backfill. Fast forward another two months and I found the entire east side of the fence posts were all loose - I never bothered to call and personally back filled and hand tamped all of the posts. Then after the original post began leaning again, I completely excavated the post hole to find that the post was cut short because they hit shale (shocking in SE PA) and installer decided it was better to cut the post short then crack the shale and bury 1/3 of the post like every other contractor would do. As I continued to explore the installation I found other issues including posts that were set at the absolute maximum center to center meaning that rails were barely long enough to stay in the posts. I fully expect to need to replace the entire fence within five years. We are completely unsatisfied with the installation, if I had the energy or the time I would take him to small claims court. Lacking that I figured I would post this review and hopefully spare someone the misery.

    BACKYARD MEDIC
I had originally hired Ben to move a small section of my fence so I could move my shed.  Ben was the only contractor I could find that would do a small job.  He did a great job removing and reinstalling the fence.  The job I did with my shed was not great.  Basically, I needed someone to fix my mess-up.  This was last fall.  Ben looked it over and assured me the pad for the shed would be fine through the winter, and was hassle-free about calling him in the spring to fix the base.

I called Ben in the spring.  He was very straight forward about the price, the work, and scheduling.  I will hire Backyard Medic the next time I need work done, and highly recommend the company.

Ben's job was perfect.  He handles the scheduling himself, so you tend to get his voicemail, but he always calls back in a timely manner.  I needed to move a shed on my property and the fence was in the way.  I only needed about 20 feet of the fence removed so I could move the shed, then have the fence re-installed.   No fence company wanted to do it because it was a small job.
Ben took down part of the fence, put up a temporary fence (for the dog) and later re-installed the old fence.  He did a great job with no damage.  You would never know part of the fence was re-installed.  Plus he didn't mind me hanging around to talk.
I will definitely use Backyard Medic again.

It was horrible!? It never occurred to me that the salesman could take measurements so wrong.? The installers came out with the gate, went to stand it up to install, and the gate was a foot too high and a foot too narrow.? The company's office called and told me that they would waive the extra delivery charge because of the mistake, but I would have to pay for another gate! The two people I spoke with at their office didn't care that their salesman made the mistake.? I was told numerous times that their hands were tied because I signed the contract.? I asked if this meant that no matter what I have done at my house, from HVAC to plumbing to roof work, I have to hire another company just to make sure the first company can measure things right, and the answer to everything was "you signed the contract, we have to charge you", or "you signed the contract, there's nothing we can do". This got to be a very heated conversation, and the second person I spoke with said to me that the contract called for a 6' X 4' gate.? The gate should have been 5' X 5'.? The guy said to me " if you really read the contract, what you're telling me is you don't know the difference between 6' high and 5' high".? And I'm an existing customer! I sent a third of the total for the deposit, so I'm out that money because they won't refund it, and they took the gate back (even though it was wrong anyway).? We were told that the owner would personally come out to take the measurements.? He never returned our phone calls, and no one ever came back out. The only bright side was that the installers seemed to genuinely feel bad, even though it wasn't their fault.

We had several estimates between $2,500 and $8,000 for the same fence,  245' of split rail and wire fence with a double gate.
All came before for a measurement. We decided for the cheapest, The Fence Experts, and don't regret it. They did a good job, everything looks great  and professional.

Montco Fence & Superior Structures LLC
Great experience - Kelsey is wonderfully helpful and offered insight, suggestions, and lots of information as we made our choices.  The service along with the sale and installation were great.  They nicked the door (black) and the wood can be seen through in one spot (part of the installation).  They gave me a quart of paint to use to patch it up without question.  They also warranted the Angie's List coupon, which saved us $150.

Every thing went great [with one exception which I will detail below] - they came out on a Friday, finished on Monday.  Great work, I have used Helm Fencing before, which was a big reason why I used them again.  Price was right in line with other estimates I had gotten.
Only negative is they hit me for a $300 charge for a 'hard dig', which if they hit big rocks, roots, etc. that impede the post hole digger.  Why I was irritated is both my neighbor and I were home they day they were drilling the holes and were watching the process. Not once did it appear they had a problem on any hole, yet still dinged me for a charge.
