    Jesse Fletcher Construction
Jesse was very professional, punctual, and responsive to all of my questions. He was kind, honest, and respectful. The quality of work was amazing. The workers were also the same - they came to work on time, very respectful, and made sure they left the place clean after each working day. I am very happy to have chosen Jesse as the contractor to finish my basement and have a bedroom added to my home. He treated my home as if it was his own. He made sure that there was minimal disruption during the entire process. He made the experience easier than i had imagined especially having newborn twins and a toddler in the house. Thank you so much Jesse and your entire team! The work you finished will be thoroughly enjoyed by my kids and our entire family as we create new memories to be treasured for a lifetime!

After getting estimates from other contractors, Total Home Solutions delivered. Very professional, the contractors they use definitely excel at what they do. The repairs were required to list our house on the market, due to the excellent job they did, helped to get us an offer for our full asking price from the first person that came to look at our house! Will definitely use them door things we need done after we move into our new home and definitely recommend them for any renovations needed.

Vendor was responsive, and quick to schedule a time that was convenient for me. Service was completed in about an hour, and seems like it was done well. I used an Angies List deal, so I have no complaints on the pricing!

    AJ Waterproofing
Our original issue was that our basement walls were almost always wet to the touch from the bottom up about 3 or 4 feet, and when it rained really heavily, the sump pump ran every couple of minutes for weeks afterwards.  The walls are hollow concrete blocks, and I found out after AJ Waterproofing's work began, that they were filled with water up to a height of several feet.
I waited 21 months to write this review, and the work has stood the test of time and lots of rain.  Immediately after the work was done that Spring, we got 2 inches of rain in 24 hours, and I still had a much drier (almost completely dry) basement.  With the amount of water that is constantly coming into the walls from the outside, I would have never imagined that our basement could be this dry.
AJ was a great guy, he met with me immediately since he was in the area and he brought his son Anthony.  He is a very high-energy, confident guy who knows basement issues very well.  He sold me on what they were going to do, how much it was going to cost and that they were going to do the job the very next day, sealing the deal with a firm handshake.
He and his crew, including Anthony and 2 or 3 other guys showed up exactly on time the next day.  They put some covering on our floors from the front door to the basement door to protect it.  Down in the basement, (I tried to moved most items out of the way myself before they arrived) they quickly moved what they needed to move into the center of the basement and away from the perimeter and covered the items in plastic.  They did their best to seal the gap under the basement door and began jackhammering the concrete slab about 12-16" away from the wall and using buckets to remove the debris out the very small basement window and around the house to the truck, minimizing the need to walk through the house and open the basement door.
This was a very loud, very labor-intensive and big job, and all of their guys are very hard-working and experienced.  AJ told me that he always uses the same crew and doesn't use sub-contractors like some of his competition, and that is the reason.  It took several hours to clear all that slab out of the way and some of the very hard concrete from the footer that over-flowed too far into the interior of the basement under the slab during the construction of our house back in the 80s.  According to AJ, that footer created a lot of extra work for them which I can absolutely imagine.
They began drilling 3 holes into the bottom of each bottom block in the basement all the way around.  The water inside the wall came out like an open garden hose for about a minute straight from almost every hole that was drilled.  AJ called me down to show me this and I'm glad he did.  He even has video of it that he showed me in case I missed it by the time I came downstairs.  The sump pump was running non-stop and the area where the sump pump discharges outside looked like a river.
Once they were done with that, they put black plastic corrugated pipe down with clean-outs near the other 3 corners away from the sump, and they began bringing in clean drainage stone with the buckets through the small window to fill around the pipe and on top of it.  They placed a black plastic "splash guard" I guess you would call it over the holes that were drilled in order to direct any water coming out of the hole down into the stone then into the pipe, which gradually graded down lower and lower as it got closer to the sump.    Then they poured cement over the stone from the edge of the slab that had been jack-hammered up to the black plastic splash guard.  The edge of the old concrete was somewhat slanted, so that when the new cement was smoothed over it, it was nicely blended with the old and I assume less likely to crack and separate from the old.
They did a really nice job, it looked very clean when they were done, and they even replaced the check valve and some of the PVC in the sump pump discharge pipe which was not something that they agreed to do up front.  When I asked about the extra work due to the footer and the PVC work, the original price agreed upon was still the final price.
They also scrubbed the existing white efflorescence and mold off my walls when they were done.
AJ even gave me advice on how to paint the walls and what to use.  He talked me out of using the muriatic acid that had been sitting around and instead suggested a much less dangerous white vinegar if I have the efflorescence again before I get around to painting.  After they left, I let the walls and the new work dry for several days and then I painted with his advice in mind.  It looks great and they are still dry ALWAYS.  He also gave me advice on modifying the downspouts, grading, and sump pump outlet outside to help reduce what makes it to the foundation, which I did.  The builder failed to seal the outside of the walls and back-filled all the way around the foundation with large rocks so there will always be water filtering in even with the changes outside.  The changes outside made it much better, but AJ Waterproofing's work inside ensured that it is immediately removed from the basement and discharged.  Unlike before their work, when it gradually and never really fully discharged for weeks.
I am very very happy that I went with these guys.  They are a small, family-owned and operated, local business just as they describe themselves and they do great work.
    Thank you!

    Kratz Home Remodeling
As usual, The Kratz Team was punctual, professional and delivered exactly what we wanted and expected.  He always provides clear estimates, and cleans up as if he'd never been there at all.

Over the past 15 years, Kratz Home Remodeling has been our first call when needing:
    *  Remodel of our Boys Bedroom to create dual built-in bookshelves and matching chests of drawers.
    *  Remodel of our 3rd floor finished attic office to create built-in bookshelves to transform the area into an in-home library.
    *  Basement finishing to create great kids playspace, (2) additional multi-purpose storage rooms, and an understairs hidden storage area.  We were very excited about all (3) of these projects and his work has added tremendous value to our home.

In addition, his team has completed a number of smaller interior and exterior projects around our house, and we were please with each of them.

We recommend Kratz Home Remodeling every chance we get.

    Shuttle Construction LLC
Rob and his son, Ryan, did a wonderful job and were a pleasure to work with and have in our home.  We wanted a relatively basic finished basement - drywall, flooring, electrical but with 2 access windows.  Rob listened and unlike other contractors we talked to provided a fair and reasonable estimate reflecting what we wanted. However, he was equally flexible with a couple of upgrades to flooring and soundproofing that we asked for, and made great suggestions.  He got all the permits in advance, and made sure all the required inspections occurred timely and were satisfied.  Our basement is now is the very nice, comfortable open space that we wanted with plenty of natural light.  We plan to use Rob and Ryan again for future projects.

    AJ Waterproofing
Let me begin by saying how excited I am to be to writing this review for AJ! I interviewed 3 other contractors and all came in around the same price, so here is where AJ set himself apart. He is as genuine as they come. He's a no frills, up front, confident guy who loves what he does. Period.
My experience- Called AJ Waterproofing and Caroline, his wife, connected me to him, to which he came out within 30 minutes of initial call. Walked me through exactly what he would be doing and how it would solve the given problem. He states that its a textbook demo/install for his crew and we proceed to schedule the install. He and his crew came out around 8 and were out by 4:30 the same day.
Here is where the accolades come-
AJ was on the job the entire day with his crew. He got his hands just as dirty as the rest of them. He stays to make sure the job is done the way he wants it performed. He runs a tight, but fair shift. The crew was extremely considerate and clean. They take the extra steps to completely seal the basement off from the whole house with plastic, run paper runners on the floors and down the basement steps and also lay boards across the lawn to respect the lawn and not track in mud. This extra respect for our home resounds with us and we thank AJ for that.
Now post job, we had a small hiccup with some of the beaded foam from the original drainage system, ( while jackhammering some got sucked up into the radon mitigation pump,) causing an annoying vibration. This is a no fault of anyone on AJ's team. So, I called AJ to get his advice and he came out within an hour.  At that moment, is where he tells me, he wants to make it right, so he would be taking care of any "repairs" to the pump. Called the radon guys, they came out the next day, removed the foam from the motor and it was fixed.
The reason I went into that detail, was to commend AJ for his professionalism, responsiveness and accountability to ensure the job is done RIGHT. That series of events alone, will ensure future jobs that need to be done, go exclusively to AJ. I give all of my recommendations to AJ Waterproofing!!

    Volpe Enterprises Inc
We didn't have any problems with the carpenters, tilers, plumber, electrician...our problem was with Mr. Volpe and his son.  To make a long story short, a very expensive item in our home was damaged and the Volpe's didn't want to take any responsibility for it. I had to INSIST that Gary Volpe contact his insurance company.  If he cared about his relationship with us, he would have done it on his own.  He told us that "if the insurance company finds that they are responsible, he would have to pay for it".  Well, Volpe Enterprise was found responsible.  If Gary would have done what was right in the first place, this review probably would have been very different.
We were never given an end date, so the project was a lot longer than it should have been.  We still have items on the "punch list" that Volpe should be completing, but we have to bring someone else in to do it.
The cost was probably about 20% higher than it should have been.

    Foundation Experts, LLC
The contractor is very good.  They are very punctual.  They provided the engineering drawings for the township, provided a detailed plan to replace the bowing wall, and the pinning of two other walls for structural support and the basement entrance.  They also provided support for a high water table issue
The crew was one of the best I have ever seen.  They came, worked extremely hard and completed the job on time and as the building inspector said," a stellar job".
They covered all objects in the basement to minimize the dust, and moved the washer and dryer, reconnecting them in their new locations.

    Value Dry
They provided and estimate, showed up in the morning on the start date and worked hard right through from start to finish.  In 2 days they were done and we had a dry basement again.  Everything works great.
