    Sears Appliance Repair
In short, not good at all. First of all, it's impossible to call Sears for a service call without being pummeled with pushy sales pitches for insurance plans. They charged me $100 for a diagnosis fee, in which they sent out a "repair technician". He spent all but a half hour looking at it, and told me he "couldn't determine what was wrong with it, without throwing parts at it". Then he went on his way. I called another local company to see if they could tell what was wrong. Within 20 minutes, they knew exactly what was wrong -- circuit board. The person from Sears (who was actually NOT, but an outsourced company) didn't even check that potential problem. When I called Sears repeatedly to argue for a refund of the diagnostic fee, they told me it was not possible because that covers sending a "technician" out. So to recap.....$100 for me to take off from work......and have a guy come out to my house and twiddle his thumbs for a half hour. I will never be back in a Sears for anything and will laugh when they finally go bankrupt.

    McGlaughlin's Refrigeration and Appliance Service
Ridiculous fees. Horribly rude, condescending, and combative customer service rep. Have a broken appliance? Without informing you of any of their fees in advance, they'll charge $75 to come to your house, and then charge $75/hr "labor" for every minute spent on diagnosis. Not repair- DIAGNOSIS. I can accept being charged labor on a repair. I cannot accept being charged labor to LOOK at something, on top of being charged a flat service fee to come LOOK at something. For my broken dishwasher, they estimated $1500 for a repair (?!), and when I declined, they hit me with $150 bill, 3 months after the fact, without fixing anything. When I inquired about the obscene labor fees on a diagnosis, I was rudely told that I "should have known the cost" (telepathically I assume), that I was "being unreasonable" in asking the labor fees to be removed when they didn't actually fix anything, and then was hung up on with the threat that they would be "calling the magistrate" on me if I didn't pay. I've read reviews on other sites who have had similar experiences with lousy service followed by unbelievably rude, condescending, and accusatory remarks from the owner's wife/ "customer service rep", Margaret, who apparently repeatedly threatens to call the magistrate on anyone who expresses dissatisfaction with the inflated bills she issues for poor service. Sad to see a local business who cares so little about customer relations that they'd rather threaten to call the police than attempt a compromise on an unexpected and unjust fee.

Reliable, honest and great service. We have a 19 yr old frig that started to run too warm and leak. We had another repair service come out and they said it was not worth fixing to buy new. I was not ready to give up on this unit so called the Repair Shop and they came out, figured out the issue in less then 30 mins for both problems and was able to repair my frig and said it had a lot of life left for less then $200. THEY WERE WORTH EVERY PENNY! They were helpful,  reliable, honest and experienced. Would highly recommend and use again.

I called this morning to see about having the ice maker in our refrigerator repaired.  I was told that and opening had just come up and a technician could be here by 1:00 pm.  He (Spencer) arrived at 11:30, did a diagnostic, replaced two circuit boards and was saying goodbye at noon.  Have not had service like this in a long time.  Will put The Repair Shop on my speed dial.

    B&K Appliance Parts
The appointment was set and a price quote given for a service call over the telephone.  A reminder call was received from the provider the day before the appointment and the time was confirmed.  The provider's service person arrived on time, was professionally dressed, and identified himself.  He went immediately to work analyzing our dish washer.  He found that a major part was needed.  He provided a price for this major part and the estimate of the installation cost.  When I asked about replacement dish washers he provided recommendations (This company does not sell appliances only service and parts).  The bill for this service call was exactly the amount of the telephone quote I received when making the appointment.  I received an itemized receipt for the service call and the results of the work.

I have a service warranty policy through Lowes. The repair person came out to fix the ice maker on my refrigerator. He took the ice maker cover off and reset the ice maker. He said that there wasn't anything wrong with the ice maker and left. The ice maker made ice one time and stopped working. I called two days later to reschedule the service. The repair person did not show up on the date and time promised. I called that same to reschedule a third time. The repair person came today. He removed the ice maker cover and looked at his tablet. Put the cover back on and told us that the ice maker should replaced. He said he would order the part. He did not tell us how long it would take for the part to come in or if we needed to schedule an appointment to have it installed.

It went extremely well. The repairman was on time and very professional. He found our problem immediately. It was a small piece of a metal washer that had gotten stuck in one of the gears. Since this is a sealed area, we can't imagine how this got into the gears. It probably was an error at the factory.

said I needed a new thermostat. A week later a new one was installed. Three days later the freezer was too warm to freeze water and the frig was never colder than 40. ALso there was a crack in the water filter. Aweek later thermostat two was installed with the same result. Two weeks later(they were on vacation for a week) after spending $700 I was told they didn't know what was wrong.

I chose to go with their suggestion, so I didn't have to worry about this problem happening in the future.  The only negative thing that happened was the repairman quoted me a smaller amount for the installation of the additional parts than it actually was.  The overall bill was still less than I had anticipated, so it all turned out okay.
