    ASA Concrete Services
REVIEWER NOTE:  I finished this review in November 2014, BUT just now learned it wasn't posted.  Everything said remains true today.
ASA Concrete is operated by Anthony Santone.  Mr. Santone provided an absolutely outstanding experience in every aspect of contracting to lift residential concrete for us.  The particulars ...  he was convenient in everything, communicated thoroughly at every stage, responsive to every request before and during the job, completely punctual, extremely professional, provided a very quality service and result at an excellent price.  The person to person interaction could not have been better, and the job performance substantially exceeded expectations in 3 unusual and difficult lifting situations, each requiring extreme care and unique approachs to particular circumstances ... none involving the same problems.  Mr. Santone lifted a heavy patio which was bound on one side to the residence foundation from poor original construction.  He lifted an ungainly, heavy, long but narrow margin between driveway and along double garage doors extending outward at each end with no fracture to the piece.  The third most difficult lift was  eight  7 inch steps, 6 feet wide which had sunk 2 inches between brick standing walls on each side without bowing or fracturing the walls ... a very difficult and delicate lift requiring great deftness, technique and critical analysis.  The steps result was superb, almost impossible to imagine because of the derelict situation to start with.  The steps are virtually fully restored to their correct position ... without pouring new concrete, which seemed unavoidable.  Mr. Santone is an excellent contractor, was highly recommended by local sources in the concrete industry, and has an established best reputation for all manner of concrete contracting.  WE WOULD RECOMMEND HIM UNCONDITIONLLY.

    Paul Ledonne
Paul was amazing. He came out promptly after I called him, communicated effectively via email (thank goodness! As a family with two young children, phone tag just doesn't work for us!), requoted many times as we changed the scope of the job and reconsidered our options.  He was professional, prompt, didn't try to oversell, but was accommodating and made professional recommendations.  I contacted 4 Angie's List providers when we began the quoting process, and by far, Paul was the winner in all the categories above.
We are so pleased. There are few contractors I've had experience with whom I would readily re-hire, and Paul is one. We've already had him quote a second job for us.  In addition to the work that was contracted and performed, he and his crew did additional pointing on the house and a few other repairs they noticed, as they were waiting to be able to perform the next step of their tasks. We are so thankful!
Paul's crew was equally amazing. Each was friendly, professional, made eye contact and greeted our family as we walked past. We had no concerns whatsoever leaving our home (open) while the work was being performed.  There was no blaring music, foul talk, we felt very comfortable with them around our young children. The work site was left clean every day, and they were prompt. Most of the work was performed in the late afternoon/evening which was perfect for us allowing for the crew to get good chunks of work in without disrupting our children's nap times. (This is huge. Trust me!)

Keystone Basement Systems & Structural Repair Inc
EXCELLENT! They started on a Thursday morning, job was complete with everything cleaned up by Friday afternoon. We had no dust or debris upstairs from the work, because they use dust covers on the equipment that jack hammered the floor. Carried the debris to the truck by hand with buckets. They explained everything, there was always a project manager on site to handle any questions, issues or concerns- but we had none! They re poured concrete to cover the drains, and put everything back as we had left it. We cannot say enough good things about them. Promptness, communication- quality of workmanship, everything was fantastic. It may seem like a lot of money - but we have never regret the investment, if you are thinking of any basement work, these are absolutely the people to go to!

This was hands down the most awful experience we have ever had with any contractor. I could write a book detailing the year long nightmare that ensued but I will try to keep this review to a minimum. Mike was prompt to return my phone call and to come out to our home to give us an estimate on repairing our front porch. Mike presented as very knowledgeable and kind and the price was not bad in comparison to other companies who gave us bids. A contract was signed in July 2012 for Mike and his crew to repair our front porch. Then the nightmare began... Our job was pushed off for one reason after another until Nov. Once work began we encountered all kinds of issues such as Mike's crew showing up with instructions to do work that was not agreed upon at all, such as capping the porch instead of demoing it and parging only the top half of the walls instead of the walls as a whole to make them appear uniform. The parging work was so terrible that Mike came back 2 times to redo it and each time it only looked worse. To make matters worse, there was water coming in from all sides because Mike did not seal the walls correctly.  The concrete was poured unevenly which not only left it discolored but also left holes in the concrete where the slab met the wall of the house. This left water drip in from the slab. Unluckily enough, this is where there is a light and electrical wiring inside of the cold room underneath. We had puddles of water from water coming in from the slab and the walls. This went on for months and months. Every time Mike came out to fix his work he ended up making it worse somehow. He seemed to realize he was losing money on this job so he kept trying to fix it fast and cheap which only ended up worsening every issue. After an enitre year of mistakes and being pushed off, Mike tried to tell us that the job was done. He didn't like us anymore than we liked him at this point. There were still so many problems neither one of us knew how to begin to fix them. Mike ended up refunding our money. That sounds great in theory except for the damage he left behind in his dust. We had to hire another company to reparge and seal the walls to get the water to stop seeping in. This new company we hired completed this in 3 days with no problem. We couldn't address the holes in the concrete because winter was setting in again and there wasn't time which means this is still something that we will be throwing money at to get fixed properly. To make matters worse, as of the weather breaking recently, we noticed an ENORMOUS deep crack which runs the entire length of the concrete steps Mike replaced. I cannot begin to tell you what a nightmare this has been. If you value your home I advise you not to hire this company to do any work. I read another review on here from a guy Mike did work for saying Mike said the discoloration of his concrete would work itself out. Mike said the same thing to us. I assure you this is not true. Conclusion: A simple job that was supposed to take 1 week had taken an entire year with no end result other than damage... Nightmare.

We gave Mike [last name removed] and his W.C. crew an outstanding review in September, 2012 because we were very pleased with the porch project. He was supposed to come back to finish some minor adjustments that were agreed upon by both parties, but he never followed through. More importantly, on this past unusually warm 12/24/13, just a little over a year after the project's completion, we were showing someone the porch when we all suddenly noticed that there were multiple cracks that ran the length of the entire porch, halfway between the exterior of the house and the edge of the patio. We sent an email/photos to W.C. on 12/29/13 requesting W.C. visit our property to assess the problem and to advise us as to what they would do to rectify this major flaw in their project. It is an obvious problem with the way in which they poured the concrete because it runs the entire length of the porch through 4 separate sections. Their negative email response, taking absolutely no responsibility for the cracking problem, nor for fixing it, has only added to our being extremely upset about our now ruined $13,000 porch project. They only said they would come back and make recommendations on further work to fix it, at our own expense. We withdraw our previous positive recommendation for their work and highly discourage anyone from considering doing business with them. We had considered having them do an additional driveway reconstruction project, but will absolutely not have them do the work now.

    ASA Concrete Services
The quote was too high. They were several thousand dollars higher than other bids that I've got. They answered when I called, which a lot of concrete places never bothered. They said that they would come out and they came when they said they would. They were very responsive and they appeared to be very knowledgeable. The estimate was pretty well detailed and broken down.

Paul was pretty high priced but the estimate process went fine. He was very prompt and he called back, which is rare with concrete workers. He came out and looked at the work and we got the estimate in a timely manner. He was responsive and very professional. The estimate that he provided has good details and good breakdown.

The guy was very pleasant who came out, I think he is the owner. I haven't decided for sure not to go with them, I am still have a couple of other people I am talking to, i haven't decided for sure. I might go with him.

I didn't have any problem with him, I thought he was plenty professional.
