Joel was in constant contact prior to his services, came on the date and time he specified, and since I wasn't able to be home, he let me know when he was there and even contacted me when he was finished! He completed all projects in record time and left no mess behind. I actually have him coming back for some tile work in a bathroom that I cannot wait for him to do, and probably more projects down the road. I am certainly going to mention him to family and friends. CEdward's Garage Doorsless than a week after he repaired my garage door, i had a problem with the door closing,which happened to be one of the original problems. I called the owner Charles and explained to him the problem. He gave me a bunch of scenarios on how the door could be fixed,or maybe this or that was the problem,but would not come back to look at the door again. I understand the door is a old door and probably needs replacing,i felt if that was the problem he should have told me that before he even starting working on the door. then i would have made a decision to let him try to fix it or get a new door. He informed me about getting a new door after he did the work, noted on the bill. After his refusal to return,i felt like i was ripped off. i will always remember the name of his company and will never use his services again. I am still ****** off. I took the lost.- Mike H.

FBuskirk Construction IncJim came out of his car and walked over to us. He wasn't wearing a mask. When we asked if he had one, he said yes, then proceeded to get close to me to hand me a card. Still not wearing a mask. He asked what we were looking to do, and I asked if he wanted to walk around the house and look as we talked about it. He said yes. I asked if he would mind grabbing his mask so he could do that. Visibly irritated, he said he WOULD mind but he'd do it anyway. Beyond that being unprofessional, it was childish and selfish. I told him not to bother and sent him on his way. I wouldn't deal with him if he did my entire house for free. Unfortunate for him - it's a huge job.- Evelyn C.

AAJ Window and Door Solutions IncAJ Window and Door was amazing. They began work 2/22/16 and worked for 2 days before bad weather forced them to halt work. They came and finished SATURDAY 2/28/16. They arrived when they said they would and were very polite and professional. From first contact to last they did what they said they would do, in the time frame they said (can't blame them for bad weather) and were very reasonably priced. After having had several bad experiences with contractors in the past, it is absolutely wonderful to have had such a wonderfully positive experience. We will be definitely be using them for future projects we have planned.- Scott W.

AJames was fantastic -- very thorough in his assessment, patient with my questions, and providing explanations and reasoning along the way. He spent over 3 hours looking at every detail and checking everything that has an impact on the quality and comfort of our home. I cannot say enough good things about his professionalism, knowledge, and openness to engage, explain, and think through different options and solutions. It was as if our quest to make our home more comfortable and energy efficient was his as well. He performed all the necessary steps in an audit, including a blower door test, thermal imaging, a thorough inspection of the indoor air quality and duct work performance, and answered all my questions. I would not hesitate to engage him in the future, for work or audit.

AWe needed to have the attic insulated the way it should have been done originally so we called on Dr Energy Saver because it was a division of Burke Construction. This was the fourth job we have had done by Burke including having a total bathroom makeover, a complete remodeling of a kitchen/dining room, window replacement (at the same time as the kitchen/dining room, and the construction-from-scratch of new basement stairs. We knew going in that the job would cost more than other companies might charge, but we were also confident that the work would be outstanding. The work included sealing any gaps where air can exit up through the ceiling into the attic, adding insulation and adding a floor, and as the final touch, creating an insulated and sealed box to be placed over the pull-down attic stairs, one of the biggest uninsulated and leaky parts of the ceiling. Our house has some oddities of construction that the crew had to be creative in solving, and the team did so not only coming up with I-never-thought-of-that solutions but without the extra nickel and dimeing another company might do, and they were very conscientious about not just getting it right, but making it excellent, including returning promptly to correct the couple of the usual unforseeable eventualities. The crew was also very careful to minimize the mess and to clean up afterwards. We will have to wait until next winter to quantify savings in our electric bill, but this cold spring has given us a taste of what is to come with the elimination of the chilly spots that existed before the work was done. Would we have Burke Construction in our home again? Without a doubt.

ABogdan has done work for us during the last several years, from installing an attic fan, a bathroom fan and vent, roof repair, vinyl siding repair, interior painting, to most recently installing a beam over a covered deck to level a sagging roof. Bogdan has consistently done excellent work, always seeking to do the best job that can be done. He is also patient and very polite. My elderly mother with whom I live also thinks very highly of him. In addition to the work that he has already done for his, we have talked with him of doing additional work for us.

FIf you want your project completed in a timely manner, DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. A 5x8 bathroom with no new tiles, floor, or toilet needed after 9+ weeks never completed. Work had to stop for 2 weeks due to electrical issues. After that it was all downhill as Mike took on new jobs and we were placed on the back burner. Mike never initiated calls to us re: day/time workers would come. When they did come they worked 1 to 4 hours, completing 1 task per day. I took off from work on numerous occasions, coming from out of state to accommodate them. Unfortunately, Mike would not accommodate me. Terrible staff time management, work was average. Realizing that we were not a priority, I was forced to give him an ultimatum to finish by a certain date which he made no effort to accommodate. He asked us to reconsider our deadline to a date a week later, saying "that is the best I can do." What!? That is the best HE can do, am I working for him? I told him "no", keep the deposit on the 2 other jobs he was going to do, have not heard from him since Oct., and am glad to be done with him. I do not recommend him at all.
