I called them first to make sure it had a digital display. They said it did but after it was installed, I found it did not. I had them come back out to replace it which they did. Later we found it was not set up correctly to drain efficiently and it ended up burning up the pump. They charged me to replace the pump. Then, the display kept going on and off so they had to add a new transformer to the switch. I was really disappointed with the number of issues and I would not use them again.

I had Meenan come in for a separate service call and the technician noticed that the oil tank was leaking slightly. I was in the process of selling my home and had two home inspections done. Neither indicated a problem with the oil tank so I am a little suspicious of the technician, especially since no mention was made about having an independent inspection of the oil tank done. However, I was trying to sell my home and decided it would be a good effort to have the tank replaced anyway. The tank was over 53 years old and certainly was not in the best state. Meenan does not do oil tank replacements themselves, instead they hire a subcontractor (Superior Tank & Energy). The service personnel arrived on-time and made fast work of the removal of the oil tank. No oil was spilled and no damage was done to my house. By mid-afternoon, they were done. The area was cleaned up and all piping in the basement was painted. The personnel were friendly and answered the several questions I had without appearing irritated. I was very happy with Superior Tank & Energy's work. I can't really rate the cost as I didn't get other estimates due to the time constraints imposed with selling my home. The bottom line: I wouldn't hesitate to contact Meenan for this work in the future but I would have liked to get some other estimates. I also would have liked to get an independent analysis of the oil tank to see if a replacement oil tank was actually needed. However, I suspect that even if the oil tank was ok, being that the oil tank was over 53 years old, it was due to be replaced soon and I rather replace the oil tank before a leak than have to worry about cleaning up an oil spill.

This experience shows they tell prospective customers what they want to hear - they are dishonest up front. Also in my experience if they are dishonest up front, they are dishonest at all levels. I now have to wait another day before another company can get here.

The night of the 23rd, I felt a little cold. I checked the thermostat in my hallway and noticed that the actual temperature was several degrees below the set temperature. The only time this normally happens is when the temperature is automatically reset during the day. This was not one of those times.

I went to the basement to check the furnace. All the zone lights were on (this indicated that all zones were calling for heat) but the furnace was not on. Checking further I noticed that the emergency cut-off light was blinking indicating that the furnace automatically shut down.

This happens occasionally (the last time was several years ago) so I simply pressed the reset button. The furnace came on and I waited to make sure the furnace didn't shut-off.

The furnace worked fine until very early morning (about 2 am) of the 25th. Checking around I discovered the same situation as before and I solved it the same way by pressing the reset switch.

Later in the morning of the 25th (about 10 am), I again noticed that the temperature was too cold and in checking the furnace, discover the same situation.

At this point I decided to no nothing and called Meenan. The woman who answered was very polite as I described what happened and that I would like a technician to look at my furnace. She scheduled the service call and said a technician would be out sometime today and that they would call about 30 minutes before.

About two hours later, the doorbell rang. The technician had arrived. I had not received a call.

After explaining the situation to the technician and showing him the furnace, I left him to do his job,

About 45 minutes later, he finished. He said that he really did not find anything wrong except that a transformer output was a little low. He replaced the transformer. The technician was easy to talk to and he was polite.

It has now been two days and the furnace is working fine.

    I would use Meenan again.

Is there a zero star option?!? I have never been more disappointed by a company's service!!
I ordered a plumber for a sink installation through Amazon Home Services. They scheduled 3 times and no one showed up all 3 times.
I called for several days in a row and was only able to talk to an answering service every time. They contacted me the first time (10/4) at 9:30pm the day before a service as scheduled to inform me of a cancellation... really?!? 9:30pm? Then after that they rescheduled me for Monday (10/12)... no Technician.  Then electronically updated the service date to Tuesday (10/13).... no Technician again. I called many times on Monday & Tuesday and was only able to talk to an answering service.
    Seriously a joke.

Dave and his team performed way above my expectations.  I'm a very detailed, meticulous home owner and it was great to see someone take so much pride in their work. They installed the system as they would in their own home, including many extras that contractors normally ignore. They built a new frame for the furnace, changed the orientation, redid all the electrical wiring, gas lines, and ventilation to code, etc.  In all honesty it could not have gone better.  They were prompt, professional, and obviously experts in their craft. If you want it done right call Dave Schneider and his team, I can guarantee you won't be disappointed.

They had me sign a release before starting their drain work - highly unusual, in my experience.  They failed to clear the drain, and went on to break a pipe seal in the process.  They then said they could send a plumber to estimate the cost of repair.  I did not believe that I should pay for their damage, and at that point I had no confidence in their ability.  I had prepaid for the drain cleaning, but my payment was refunded.  I would not use this company and have contacted another provider to do the repair and clear the drain.

    Very dissatisfied.

They had installed units for us and they never worked efficiently.  My children's bedroom's were on the second floor and that is where we wanted the units and they would not do it.  Our children's bedrooms are so hot in the summer and so cold in the winter so we had to go through someone else.

.On the original service call, the technician identified a short in a wire and a bad transformer which he repaired for $110, plus $90 for labor and $25 for a trip charge; not bad. He found the refrigerant very low, and filled 8lbs for $240. My wife was home when he serviced it, and by the time I got home and turned it on it didn't seem to blow very cold air, but we had just bought the house in the fall and wasn't used to how cold the air blew. After a couple weeks I just wasn't convinced, so I called them back. Another service tech said that we must have a bad leak, they weren't allowed by law to recharge it again, and all they could do is sell us a new unit. This seemed a little too convenient for
I called a second company for another opinion, and they immediately noticed the service caps (think valve stem caps on tires) were left off; a safeguard against leaking. I was with him this time, and could audibly hear the hissing coming from the fill valves, which are just like the air valves in your tire valve stems. He charged up the system and spent over an hour with a refrigerant leak detector going over every square inch of the system and couldn't find any measurable leaks. The unit blows COLD air, and cools the house down in minutes.
I called Flourtown HVAC back to let them know I was dissatisfied that they missed this on TWO service calls and I had to pay for this refrigerant twice do to their negligence, and I got no apology, just a defensive "I can tell you right now we're not going to eat the cost of that refrigerant". I guess they expect their customers to pay for their mistakes. Terrible.

This service appointment was originally scheduled for noon to 4 PM on Wednesday June 4th, 2014. This appointment was made sometime in mid-March, 2014.
Meenan called me about 12:30 or 1 pm on June 4th and asked me if I would mind a change in schedule to June 25, 2014 at the same time. Meenan said that this was due to a usually heavy demand for air conditioner service, I agreed.
Today, June 15, 2014, Meenan called and asked me if I could have the service done today instead. I verified the date several times since today was Sunday. After being assured it would be today, I agreed. A little later Meenan called to say the next service technician comes on duty at 3 PM and that my furnace would be his first stop.
The service technician (John) showed up a little after 3:30 PM. He was courteous and went right to work. He was finished in a little over one hour. He found nothing wrong with my furnace and did the usual preventative maintenance (cleaning, replacing the nozzle and oil filter, etc.).
When John had me sign the service form, he informed me about some of the things not covered by my service contract. I have the Silver plan, the lowest of Meenan's three plans. John was not pushy, he simply stated the items that were not covered by the Silver plan but are covered by the middle plan (Gold). John mentioned that I could have the plan changed at any time, just call the office.
I am satisfied with John's service.
